You made a mistake when discussing how much RAM it has
its becoming internet an store here
you people in uk doesn't know value of the money.... 200 pounds for plastic box.... if someone is a gamer he uses lan cable...
Every place dont have cable or fiber, or it is owned by shietty operator, and you just cant chance it.
I am gaming with 4g modem, i get around 60ms with it, is enuf for my needs.
@@gcmanuel85x agree, i was talking about lan cable from your ISP modem/router/etc to your pc - not to add more devices, i.e. add more ping - every added device adds at least 1ms ping latency
in fact many routers are provided by network operators. For free or a very good discount
Sure, send me the money and I'll use whatever router you want :)
Now seriously, my ISP router works perfectly fine and it never gave me reasons to buy another one. You must ask to yourself "do I really need another one? Is it worth the investment?".
it's probably a sponsored video, don't fall for the clickbait
@@bapibarman7484 The entire video is a sponsor, I know that. Just wanted to make the comment :D
Mine works fine for me. I don't need to overpay.
My Netgear rooter works just fine. When I’m ready to get a Wi-Fi 6e or W-Fi 7 rooter, I’ll get another Netgear. Thanks.
I have a TP-Link AXE5400. I needed it for the tri-band functionality.
Nope!!
No problem
You made No mention of any security features or lack there of! What about Telemetry back to the vendor, China? Its not a Tri-band. I see nothing in the specs to match my tp-link!
Just got the asus tuf gaming ax 3000 V2 router from Argos £110
Great router
Not bad
Same. Worth it
A couple of months ago, I was helping a friend change some settings in his ISP supplied router. Unfortunately, he didn't have the user name or password to log in. We had to call the cable company. As it turned out his router's user name was "admin" and his password was "password". Lovely. Probably the same as a few million other customers of that ISP. So, if you live in Canada and Rogers / Shaw is your ISP, I'd suggest logging to your router and and changing those log in details. That's assuming they aren't hard coded in.
it's actually not that big deal, cause in order to log in to your router, you need to be connected to the local network. That means with a LAN cable, or with WiFi.
WiFi on the other hand SHOULD be protected with long and nontrivial password
I recently saw your video on port master. Can this router perform those port master functions for everything on my network?
Portmaster configures your firewall on an application level. Router firewall is based on some general rules + solicited network traffic, it cannot know what applications you run on your home PC, it cannot ask that, and it cannot get a good decision of what to do. So your PC software firewall, like Portmaster, is a good and valuable ADDITION to your router firewall
In Germany Fritz!Box made by AVM is the real thing. It is not for gamers thou.
I use the quite old Fritz!Box 7490, most people have switched to 7590 and for the fiber connection they have 5590 Fiber.
Misleading Video title!!!! . It is NOT good to get views this way. Most ISP routers now are very good.
I got my R3 last week. The wifi is meh. I got better wifi speeds on the netgear r7800 I had years ago. I am thinking about getting a gl.inet flint 2 and compiling my own builds of openwrt.
I'll be sticking to my full Omada setup, these gimmick routers are a joke.
That's you choice
I used my ISP router until recently when the wifi on it started to get wonky so I bought asus router and knock on wood it's been great.
Does this work with cr*p internet speeds because my area is not covered by ultra fast fibre.
Looks like a good router. Pity it's not available down here in the colonies.
And for those of us, who are not in the gimme-gimme business but rather in the lemme-lemme business; i.e. running servers of different sorts:
1. Can it do port-forwarding?
2. Can it optimize for upload speed?
3. Can it do IPv6?
Sorry, Brian; all your review brings to mind is the phrase "Damned by faint praise". If your ISP is dumping an "old" router on you, any "new" router is going to better it. I don't want to pay £225 (or £180 with the introductory price) for a "decent" router.
10 usd pc with brazilFW will beat this pos
gaming destroying hollywood yeah future of entertainment
true, hollywood nothin to offer
Bri are you still on virgin media if so have you put your hub in modem mode and then connected the new router to that?
Put it in modem mode
@@Britec09 Router quality aside, how does Virgin compare with regular full fibre? I have fibre to the cabinet at the moment, but I have both types of full fibre as an option. The council re-laid the pavement and street, then Openreach came and dug it up for full fibre, then Virgin came and dug it up again to lay their stuff!
Just to clarify for me this router plugs into your ISP router so are you still using your ISP router?
You use your isp router as a modem only (most isp routers have the ability to be turned into modem only mode...do a RUclips search for your isp router to turn it into modem) and use this or another make as the router. Eg I'm with virgin media and I turned my isp router into modem mode and plugged in a TPlink router and everything is plugged into the TPlink
you can also turn it into repeater, if you wish so. A good router like this has a lot of functions to choose from
You can contact your IPS to turn theirs ONT to bridge mode. And then connect your new router via Wan.
For gaming is cable only!
The Netduma R3 only comes with 256MB of DDR3 RAM and 256MB of storage.
Those ''RGB makes it faster and is better '' Routers are a joke.
-You get at most max 2 years of updates if any
-Is for sure more insecure as a well known brand
-Probably is spying the users and send logs to who knows
-Cheaply made and unreliable for a product that needs to be powered on 24/7
If it is sponsored or a free router provided then you should tell you're viewers.
nothing wrong with my Asus router, that one has better RGB though.
Virginmedia routers are very limited
@@Britec09 ? Virginmedia? would never use an ISPs provided router.
Go to Dave’s Garage and check out the badass router he uses!
Yehh ,,, When i hoover the carpet i use my virgin router ,, Cause it sucks great !!!!
Hmm Brian mate where I live in Australia it doesn't matter what super router you have installed the down and upload speeds are so pathetic making this one especially a brand I have never heard of a no go.
Not just Australia. If your ISP is monopoly or duopoly and their infrastructures is crap/oversold no router in the world is going to help fix a shitty internet connection.
when you do a sponsored video, atleast mention it's a sponsored video 😒
yep!
I can't mention it, because its not sponsored video. So please stop accusing me.
@@Britec09is as honest and for the community as it gets.
I have a netduma and it is a wonderful router and operating system.
@@buddybren7213a bit overpriced though
👍👍
There is Archer AXE75 AXE5400 Tri-Band Gigabit Wi-Fi 6E router much better and cheaper than this dodgy router noone has heard of. It can be bought from CEX at £100 with 2 years warranty
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Routers have been the most annoying thing to force yourself to buy, because it's just a stupid, stationary box that distributes what you already pay a lot for.
Got to remember to buy a new one...again.
indeed this is just a box with some primitive computer components. You could make it yourself using some Rapsberry components, but you need some skills in software and hardware to make it running. There are videos like DIY router etc
and you shouldn't underestimate the importance of a good router. It's function is to protect you, so you better get a good one that won't fail
I smell snake oil
