Tethers are really easy to spot(red glowing dot on the ground). And you can get free of the really easy(shoot em and run) if you know that they can be destroyed. Also if you know the northstar could have NE why would people dash to her instead of walking and looking for tether traps. I don't get why you all are complaining. If it was that good every pro would use it, but almost none does. It's really easy to escape from especially with the stryder chassis titans. The only reason people die are either they got pushed in a corner(which means they didn't position themselves right) or they weren't careful enough and thus died through tether ne or phase ne. NE is probably the worst after the auto eject for better players. It's predictable and easy dodgeable. I see like one player in 15 using it 12 using overcore one extra dash and one enhanced auto titan. And if someone gets 2 or more kills he deserved it because he played the whole time with a handicap(because he didn't have any of the bonuses of the other perks) and still was able to catch you off guard. There are worse things in this game *cough* smart pistol *cough*which feel a lot more unfair and skillless.
Ben it's only too strong against cores. For the rest: its fine. I was a ronin main, got 5 titan kills in attr. on average. Now ion and still 5 kills. Ion is actually stronger(strongest). I have no problem killing ronins. Takes some skill thats all. Btw: ronin is the only titan whose defense does 0 damage to the enemy. Btw: mostly I die to nukes and ronins because friendly titans are slow to react and block my escape routes.
Dandadad I think he means ( you may have already mentioned it) it blocks everything. I've survived a nuclear eject by block an explosive with my sword??
Dandadad "ronin is the only titan whose defense does 0 damage to the enemy" Tone, northstar, and legion beg to differ. Ronins defense is dumb, he can tank way too much damage that way. Would like to see it reduced to like 30-50% and see how it plays out.
Ronins phase reflex kit will send you into a phase dash when you are doomed, but you will be able to eject while in the void giving your enemy less time to escape 5:55
A pretty obvious tip, but simply going around a corner is pretty effective, too. If you can't see the light, you're safe, even if you're within 20m. Just don't poke your head out immediately cuz the damage sticks around for a couple seconds
unfortunately if we were to measure each shield at meter increments this video would be far too long and boring, but what matters is that regardless of how much numerically the shields actually block, the distance gained by using full movement speed instead of blocking is much more valuable. Good point regardless, especially if you are completely boxed into a corner I suppose. - Ascendance
Nuke eject is so easy to avoid. if you're standing right next to a titan, as soon as the light appears, turn around and run away. All titans can escape damage completely this way.
something that you forgot to mention. you can kill someone with their own nuke eject by throwing a gravity star at the cockpit when they initiate the nuke ejection. it'll keep them trapped there with no real way to escape and it will credit you for the kill.
dome shield advice is not entirely right. i had at least 3 enemy nuke ejecters trying to do exactly what you said - it doesn't work - while dome shield is active - titan is invulnerable, EVEN when you embark it - IF you don't move or shoot - dome shield will stay active for few seconds. tl;dr: if you embark and see enemy titan enter your dome shield and nuke - DON'T MOVE - you'll be fine and if you are the one nuking: if your target stays still - don't nuke right away, wait at least 2 seconds from embark P.S. i am 95% sure of what i just said. other 5% is the probability that it is some sort of bug that occurred to me 3 out of 3 times
I am really hoping that you are right and the timing was just lucky enough to do this in the footage, because it is really really cheap haha! - Ascendance
Elias He is completely right, not moving or shooting grants around 2-3 seconds of dome shield (looking around doesn't break the bonus duration, so keep that in mind to get an advantage) and YES titans are fully invulnerable as long as the domeshield is up, if it ceases during the embark animation, well say goodbye to your titan then
for your next Secrets Of video, you could do one about the Vortex Shield. for example, how it pulls Firestars off of your Ion or other, friendly titans. I didn't try it on Firestars that were on the ground, but it's a possibility I think. Also, nuclear eject damage is not blocked by stacks of containers, unless the containters are high enough to cover the titan completely.
Just to add, Ronin has two ways of defending from a nuke eject, for he could time a phase dash in order to get out of range, without even taking a bit of damage
another excellent way to use this perk effectively is with ronans other perk that makes you phase out of danger you can start your nuclear eject while in phase and destroy titans who believe you went to run away but instead have let them walk into your trap
Vortex shield at a distance of ten meters can block a nuclear eject and it creates a cone out the back protecting allies. Your welcome if you ever had a dark coloured ion save a team by getting in the way with that move as its happened alot yet i don't see anyone else use it. The cone of protection exists as long as the titain exists so if ur at full health even at point blank range you can spare allies damage.
A pro tip Even if the pilot has ejected and the titan has started to explode you can escape the blast zone you have about 1 second to eject from when your titan takes the initial damage from the explosion.
Why feel bad about nuclear eject? It's part of the game and can be used very efficiently. It can also be used tactically, like sneaking up on an enemy team from behind in LTS and take out half of their team. Can turn around games. Don't wine, use it to your advantage.
Yeah I know, it is possibly that most people use it to try and get cheap kills, but honestly it is rarely a problem, just a pain haha! Although I complain I would much prefer all my opponents run this over turbo engine or overcore, which would make them far more effective. - Ascendance
Well, I have been very effective with NS + Nuclear Eject for a while now. Plus, it's good fun and very rewarding to take out 2 or 3 titans at a time. Of course, people get salty over this sometimes. But getting nuked is also a problem of them, cos they dont really pay attention, have bad positioning etc. You btw also forgot to mention that u can save yourself as a pilot by ejecting on time. Also, phasing as a pilot will save u from dying in the nuke.
4FS Gaming in the beginning it was really cheap(nuclear eject kill a titan? Here get another one), but now i actually hate overcore because it's almost a must have on every titan except scorch. The extra smoke isn't good enough (for most players), auto eject is completely crap for players not being new to the game, dash is inferior to overcore and enhanced auto titan mostly useless, because it's better to use the titan yourself. Nuclear eject is from my perspective to dodgeable. It shouldn't get blocked by ronin block (same goes for aoe abilities in general, it's stupid that ronin gets less damage with no real tradeoff) and it should kill a 2 bar titan at 15 meters. It's a nuclear explosion not a normal one
I play monarch with battery thief so I'm always going after executions, so I've experienced some nuclear ejects and if you play monarch, don't forget rearm also recharges your dash.
You forgot to mention that nuclear eject requires you to be doomed to use it (unlike in TF1, where everyone could use it at the end on the ship). That a gravity star can latch you down. As well as a grapple, either by the enemy or by yourself if you grapple yourself down again. You can phase out of it. And as a last resort for when you are boxed in and are like... fuck it, just manually eject (don't disembark). Thanks to the last one, nuclear eject is best in among chaos, or when the enemy doesn't realise what team the nuclear ejection is from.
pilots shield placable goes by duration ive found that it can block full on titan shots but i'm not sure about nuclear ejects, i think this would be good to research
Playing as a legion on fronteir modes, its useful sometimes for defending a point, mainly because if a horde of titans + reapers comes and totals your titan or your titan has taken quite the beating, you can nuclear eject as a last resort, mainly because "what the heck am I going to do as a pilot against 50 something reapers?"
well.... seems stim and phase gots some competition.... but srsly keep this on the down low... dont really need that cancerous thing to make a resurgence. the thing rewards campers in a game all about moving.
Nuke eject is a useless perk, along with stealth eject. Nuke eject is loud, has a long windup time, and 90% of people will dodge it seeing as you can just run away from it without dashing and still avoid it. Stealth eject just gets rid of the doomed state entirely, which I can kind of see the appeal of, but for the love of God, quit using it in LTS. Having a doomed titan can still win you a round if you can kill the other titans. You are essentially getting rid of a bar of health by picking it. Seriously, you are better off picking overcore or turbo engine.
You can use the Ronin kit that makes phase dash when doomed for long time , and there you can Nuke eject , Also , the pilot particle wall and the wall ability can absolutely protect you from nuke ejects
Also, I think nuke is more common on the console. I rarely see it on PC. But in my opinion, nuke is really fun, because most Titans can just turn and sprint away from it, and thusly completely nullify it's danger. This presents a level of skill required to get those flanks while the neko is distracted with allied Titans. Something I wish you had touched on was how nuke and northsatr fuctuon, such as if nuking while in hover, doe sit change your damage sphere, or if you hover away from a nuke, will it affect your damage.
Was wondering if you could do a sort of mini-video to confirm a possible maximum capacity of Ion's Vortex Shield. A few times when I've run Ion against particularly foolish Legions who won't stop firing into my shield, I noticed that when the shield reaches a high number of catches (almost a whole Predator Cannon clip), it seems to "eat" the current catch-load and start again.
It's more effective for Rodin to have reflex teleportation or something it's called, since you can have a head start on your nuclear detonation, I think
Another fact to survive the nuclear eject is to have auto eject on your titan because once you reach doomed state it will automatically make you eject and when you do you also go invisible that's when you can go kill the pilot who nuclear ejected ha ha ha
In Titanfall one I had a load out with nuke eject and stealth auto-eject, which usually guaranteed a nuke ejection. But one lucky guy once managed to somehow stun my Titan for a split second after I was doomed and terminate me anyways.
also a cool Easter egg in ejecting (I haven't tested the other Titans on this) if you look at the red text on the screen when you eject from monarch it may say things like "see you soon" or "go get em' tiger"
I love nuclear eject, don't get me wrong I DESPISE using it and I DESPISE other people using this, but the enemy I face has lower chance of winning due to less utility able to be used against me, and even as a big ogre I can get away quite easily :)
Other than tone, all shields seem to work against nuclear eject. I have used scorch, had no dashes, ran away, and than turned around and use my shield. It nearly drained my shield from full, but i was untouched.
The range falloff curve from nuclear eject seems to indicate that the extra distance you would gain from just continuing to run is more valuable than attempting to raise a shield, That was what I was trying to get out with those shield comparisons I suppose, but thanks for your observation! - Ascendance
Personally, i like using it since if im going out, im going out with a bang. Plus, for a short time it causes area denial. Also, a kills a kill, no matter if its cheap or not
I remember when phase dash and nuke eject doesn't the titan only the glowing orb anination. Those days were fun: some players would just stare at the glowing orb lol. I fell for it once just once!
Back in Titanfall 1, the nuclear ejection was much stronger. It worked no matter how much health your titan had and instantly destroyed whatever between 0-15 meters. However, drop ships were practically untouchable by the explosion. (I guess because you can't hover a few meters in the air before doing it.) In my opinion, although I don't even have Titanfall 2, I think the nuclear explosion was nerfed quite a lot, like the Boltshot in Halo 5.
It was a lot of fun to nuke eject yourself directly into your friendly drop ship. Helps clear the enemies a bit and as a bonus, gives you a fun mystery to ponder in the form of wondering how the hell your pilot hitched a ride onto the dropship while being thrown into the stratosphere
For the north star "cheap" tactic, as far as I know, tether traps, even twin ones, will only lock down ONE Titan. So you will get ONE kill. Some titans, like Ronin, can still phase away. I think another northstar can tank them off with hover too. Scorch can kill the trap will thermal shield I THINK.
There is a glitch you can do if you are on the receiving end of the nuclear eject if u eject then the blast does nothing to you but you need to time it well
U can use phase reflex with ronin so U can eject while in the faze and it will actually start exploding in the faze however will be back in the reveal world by the time the explosion goes off
4FS Gaming i think its good that nuclear eject doesnt do instant damage it does it in ticks whenever i get nuclear ejected and i cant escape maybe i will get hit by a wave of damage but there is usually time to eject yourself
i remember once on crash site as ronin with nuke eject i took down 4 titans 1 by 1 before the nuke eject nerf. it was satisfying. feel bad for the enemy team
Another tip to survive the nuclear ejection Predict when it gonna explodes and eject, this will prevent pilot death but your titan will be destroyed but you'll have some chance to kill off the enemy pilot that is on th air Note: Only use if you have an open space and no roofs If you do it right, the enemy pilot will be right next to you on the air and you can either kill the pilot if you have the grapple pilot or just shot'em or you can air strafe away to safety You can just eject before the explosion to maximize your chance of survival
Hey with Titanfall 2 coming back to life for a bit. Can you do a video on where each Titan should position themselves on the map for the most affective use of their abilities?
Countering Nuke Eject is easy, ALWAYS assume the opponent has it (I was like this back in COD 4 and last stand, I always shot the corpse to make sure it wouldn't get a quick kill on me) so in other words have a dash ready for emergency or if using a heavy Titan keeps your distance just outside melee range so you can still get executions but gives you just enough to back off if needed. However I fully understand being tagged by some nukes at times, its annoying but happens to us all. As for using it - I have no problem. I don't use it on all my Titans, mainly Tone. As I use her defensively and use cover a lot and corners I naturally tend to annoy my opponents, when/if they get me doomed I notice they tend to rush me (out of frustration?) to get that execution, thats when I dive out. They leap in realise they're screwed and have to take damage. The other advantage is it covers your escape as enemies are too busy trying to save their lives rather than track your eject. A third is area denial and breathing space for friendlies, especially when holding points in hardpoint.
An energy barrier that envelops Tone's entire front: No protection
The broadside of Ronin's sword: yes
if you're scorch or legion and are point bank.... just force your ejection. it may be painful to lose your brobot while he can still fight, but hey...

There are worse things in this game *cough* smart pistol *cough*which feel a lot more unfair and skillless.
ronnins defense is actually stupid no mater how u look at it
Ben it's only too strong against cores.
Dandadad "ronin is the only titan whose defense does 0 damage to the enemy"
Tone, northstar, and legion beg to differ.
Ronins defense is dumb, he can tank way too much damage that way. Would like to see it reduced to like 30-50% and see how it plays out.
Alternate I think 30-50% is a bit too much of a nerf. Maybe 55 or 60%. And 80% for sword corr
Dronmel 98 yeah, something along those lines. Test it, see how it plays out, fix it accordingly.
Would love a video that shows the heal rate of stim, and if it increases when combined with the fast regen perk.
hate to break the bad news to you, but the shields do block some damage, just not enough at 5m
unfortunately if we were to measure each shield at meter increments this video would be far too long and boring, but what matters is that regardless of how much numerically the shields actually block, the distance gained by using full movement speed instead of blocking is much more valuable. Good point regardless, especially if you are completely boxed into a corner I suppose. - Ascendance
Nuke eject is so easy to avoid. if you're standing right next to a titan, as soon as the light appears, turn around and run away. All titans can escape damage completely this way.
something that you forgot to mention. you can kill someone with their own nuke eject by throwing a gravity star at the cockpit when they initiate the nuke ejection. it'll keep them trapped there with no real way to escape and it will credit you for the kill.
he did mention it, you must've just missed it
may hate me but with ronin you can ark wave then and then nuke them
i dont use it pls no hate on me for this
Playa K97 That doesnt work. The affect of the wave disipates before the nuke explodes, still leaving time for the opposing titan to flee.
Chris D but less time, its like with the tether traps a good player could destroy them before the explosion and escape with a dash
James Juld so long as you can find them and that it isnt the dual tethers. But yes, you can escape them.
Chris D even dual tether should work for a blablak/benchy. But you can still dash inside the tethers so you would survive more likely
Playa K97 stupid
dome shield advice is not entirely right. i had at least 3 enemy nuke ejecters trying to do exactly what you said - it doesn't work - while dome shield is active - titan is invulnerable, EVEN when you embark it - IF you don't move or shoot - dome shield will stay active for few seconds.
tl;dr: if you embark and see enemy titan enter your dome shield and nuke - DON'T MOVE - you'll be fine
and if you are the one nuking: if your target stays still - don't nuke right away, wait at least 2 seconds from embark
P.S. i am 95% sure of what i just said. other 5% is the probability that it is some sort of bug that occurred to me 3 out of 3 times
I am really hoping that you are right and the timing was just lucky enough to do this in the footage, because it is really really cheap haha! - Ascendance
actually if you go frame by frame - you can see that titan in the video didn't have a dome shield at all - it was a warp fall
4FS Gaming what's the music called in this I like it
Elias He is completely right, not moving or shooting grants around 2-3 seconds of dome shield (looking around doesn't break the bonus duration, so keep that in mind to get an advantage)
and YES titans are fully invulnerable as long as the domeshield is up, if it ceases during the embark animation, well say goodbye to your titan then
Elias I did that to a scorch, he thought he had enough time to get out of the way. those stubby legs..
for your next Secrets Of video, you could do one about the Vortex Shield. for example, how it pulls Firestars off of your Ion or other, friendly titans. I didn't try it on Firestars that were on the ground, but it's a possibility I think.
Also, nuclear eject damage is not blocked by stacks of containers, unless the containters are high enough to cover the titan completely.
if you value yourself enough, you can manually eject to prevent the reward they would have gotten from killing you and you survive
Notice how he never talked about Phase Reflex combined with Nuke Eject in this video...
sucks when somebody nuke ejects but there are several friendly titans in the way of escape
The "hard cover" boost can completely save you from a nuke eject leaving you alive with no damage
Just to add, Ronin has two ways of defending from a nuke eject, for he could time a phase dash in order to get out of range, without even taking a bit of damage
i personally love nuke eject. i can not tell you how many times its won the game for me
I always tether trap titans before ejecting. Seeing them try to run is hilarious
I love nuclear ejection its the only perk to use man wipen 3 titans at the same time is so satisfying😂😂
"it is actually pretty difficult to use" me phasing into 5 enemy titans and spamming eject
One of my favourite tactics is use either a Scorch or Legion then kamikaze the enemy dropship when they’re trying to escape.
I never knew how to use this part of the titan kit until now. Beautiful observations.
I love getting a rage quitter after executing a badass nuke 👌👌
He forgot the part where if the eject while using the perk and some body had a ark star you die by it
another excellent way to use this perk effectively is with ronans other perk that makes you phase out of danger you can start your nuclear eject while in phase and destroy titans who believe you went to run away but instead have let them walk into your trap
Elmer Wheeler i believe you meant to say "phase"
thx for the gramer check
Vortex shield at a distance of ten meters can block a nuclear eject and it creates a cone out the back protecting allies. Your welcome if you ever had a dark coloured ion save a team by getting in the way with that move as its happened alot yet i don't see anyone else use it. The cone of protection exists as long as the titain exists so if ur at full health even at point blank range you can spare allies damage.
A pro tip
Even if the pilot has ejected and the titan has started to explode you can escape the blast zone you have about 1 second to eject from when your titan takes the initial damage from the explosion.
Use the Ronin auto phase kit as it allows you to do the animation *while* phased, giving you as much time as a normal eject to escape
At least it isn't TF1's nuke eject. That lead to the scariest moments I experienced in that game.
I've been watching u for a little while and I subbed! Love the vids. Keep up the work and u could hit 1M subs !
Thanks. :)
Berlin Mitte Institut "its part of the game" pathetic
What do you mean?
A good way to "troll" nuke eject users is ti chuck a gravity star at the titan as soon as they start the eject, the explosion will kill them.
oh so worth it. i dont even know why some jackasses use the thing on complex....
Well as you said, you can force an eject sequence even if you aren't doomed, so you can basically still use it whenever.
pilots shield placable goes by duration
ive found that it can block full on titan shots but i'm not sure about nuclear ejects, i think this would be good to research
Tip: use this in frontier defense. You can seriously pull your harvester out of the slums
I am having an issue with this, it tells me the key to press, I spam it and nothing happens! It's not ejecting or ejecting itself is not working!
Or take out a crowd of nuke titans
You forgot to mention that, as a pilot, an A-wall can save you from a nuke eject.
well.... seems stim and phase gots some competition.... but srsly keep this on the down low... dont really need that cancerous thing to make a resurgence. the thing rewards campers in a game all about moving.
xD
Nuke eject is a useless perk, along with stealth eject. Nuke eject is loud, has a long windup time, and 90% of people will dodge it seeing as you can just run away from it without dashing and still avoid it. Stealth eject just gets rid of the doomed state entirely, which I can kind of see the appeal of, but for the love of God, quit using it in LTS. Having a doomed titan can still win you a round if you can kill the other titans. You are essentially getting rid of a bar of health by picking it. Seriously, you are better off picking overcore or turbo engine.
You can use the Ronin kit that makes phase dash when doomed for long time , and there you can Nuke eject , Also , the pilot particle wall and the wall ability can absolutely protect you from nuke ejects
nuke eject is perfect for my playstyle but ineffective while NOT doing more damage alive then ejecting
You as a Pilot by timing your own manual Ejection sequence. A-Wall and Hard Cover can keep Pilots alive as well.
northstar is the only titan for where there is an argument for nuke eject
Another fact to survive the nuclear eject is to have auto eject on your titan because once you reach doomed state it will automatically make you eject and when you do you also go invisible that's when you can go kill the pilot who nuclear ejected ha ha ha
I use nucular ejection to destroy ships when the enemy is trying to escape big brain
In Titanfall one I had a load out with nuke eject and stealth auto-eject, which usually guaranteed a nuke ejection. But one lucky guy once managed to somehow stun my Titan for a split second after I was doomed and terminate me anyways.
I miss the good old days of when you could force your titan to nuke eject at any time, not when in doomed state
AsteroidOne Lol I don’t
On pc, you can manually eject from not-doomed state by pressing "x" and then 3x "e" for maximum cheese.
also a cool Easter egg in ejecting (I haven't tested the other Titans on this) if you look at the red text on the screen when you eject from monarch it may say things like "see you soon" or "go get em' tiger"
This is true for all titans, and the message is randomly selected from a pool.
I love nuclear eject, don't get me wrong I DESPISE using it and I DESPISE other people using this, but the enemy I face has lower chance of winning due to less utility able to be used against me,
and even as a big ogre I can get away quite easily :)
So your saying that the explosion hits the shield, but is out of range of the titan?
Personally, i like using it since if im going out, im going out with a bang. Plus, for a short time it causes area denial. Also, a kills a kill, no matter if its cheap or not
Austin, Hobbes and Justin same
Lemme guess, you use tone, spitfire, gravity star, A-wall, and smart pistol?
LOLOLOLAS teh weeb I don’t know about the first guy, but I use legion, flatline, grapple, and ticks. That’s all
@@nikolaybababooey7644 Ive recently been using alternator, back up battery thing, grapple, and either stryder titan
You can survive a nuke eject as a pilot by placing a wall as the shield kit or something and ducking behind it
The other titan can be smart about it and eject to avoid all of the damaged and not get killed
Nuclear explosions are always epic in all games and movies.
Stealth auto eject works good because the moment your doomed you also eject canceling it out.
I was saved from a nuke eject by a friendly dome shield
Auto titans with assault chip will run away same with bounties but titans without it will stand there like an eejit
Could you maybe do a "Wishlist" of Fixes and Improvements for the future?
What Respawn should improve and fix what is currently necessary
I'll add it to my list of videos to make! - Ascendance
Thx dude
Fun fact: a phase shift pilot can dodge the damage of a nuke eject by phasing as soon as you eject
If you are cornered Force eject just as the nuke is going off you are invincible while you are ejecting
There is a glitch you can do if you are on the receiving end of the nuclear eject if u eject then the blast does nothing to you but you need to time it well
Where exactly is the "glitch" part of this? All of that is normal.
If you are a ronin lover you would obviously phase shift out of existence when the nuke comes and if your tethered your just fine, just use phase dash
U can use phase reflex with ronin so U can eject while in the faze and it will actually start exploding in the faze however will be back in the reveal world by the time the explosion goes off
Real*
2:50 laughs in phase shift
You can die if you miss time it
I hate nuclear eject.
Ditto. - Ascendance
4FS Gaming i think its good that nuclear eject doesnt do instant damage it does it in ticks whenever i get nuclear ejected and i cant escape maybe i will get hit by a wave of damage but there is usually time to eject yourself
RebirthedKing95 JUST RUN AWAY!!!
MoonWoolf1405 ikr
There is a secret ability it’s amazing it will guarantee survival, it’s called the get-the-fuck-out-the-way manoeuvre
Ronin can start up nuclear eject in phase dash and it explodes almost instantly after you exit it
i remember once on crash site as ronin with nuke eject i took down 4 titans 1 by 1 before the nuke eject nerf.
it was satisfying. feel bad for the enemy team
Another tip to survive the nuclear ejection
Predict when it gonna explodes and eject, this will prevent pilot death but your titan will be destroyed but you'll have some chance to kill off the enemy pilot that is on th air
Note: Only use if you have an open space and no roofs
If you do it right, the enemy pilot will be right next to you on the air and you can either kill the pilot if you have the grapple pilot or just shot'em or you can air strafe away to safety
You can just eject before the explosion to maximize your chance of survival
Or just...run away in a straight line...
Actually a good tip to survive also if you cant escape is to eject before the explosion.
try it on clitch its a more opened area also some of it the nuke is against the wall
also if you Use a Grav star and hit the cockpit before they eject you completely deny their eject and kill them in their own explosion
And it's satisfactory as hell
