@@Toasteeei There were only two things you could do with the spear. Both of those were inferior to other weapons. The knockdown is probably the most useful thing it can do but it doesn't fix the issues that it has.

It's more fleshed out in Forbidden West as stated and shown in the video - light attack isn't just a single move over and over like in HZD.

The refinements to human enemy combat with the spear and better reactions based on where you hit them (i.e. staggering when you shoot them in the arm) coupled with partially destructible environments shows you Guerilla is listening. This is gonna be amazing

One thing I find interesting is that this was made specifically for this. It's not in the actual game, at least this sequence of events isn't. And sure, that paints it as a little scripted, but it's still impressive and still showcases a lot of the new stuff well

The hair animation in HZD was based on AMD's open source TressFX customized heavily for Aloy.... I wish more developers gave games more love like that. And props to AMD for making TressFX open source and performant on all GPU hardware.

Tbh this exceeded the expectations. They've improved upon everything from the last game and finally the glider! Always wanted that in the last game to travel faster. Also the hair physics look hugely improved

It's not really the textures that have gotten better...its all about lighting. Once RTX lighting becomes better developed and even used on ancient PS5 GPUs...or consoles in general...then we will see a jump in graphics. But exclusive titles always have a super high detailed look to them...I want to play this regardless of how shiny the water looks to you

Yes livestream I was not impressed as much but I knew its 1080p and streamed. Much better on this. But remember this still in development, still youtrube compressed and still not shown the crazy weather gameplay which is where the graphics will wow the most I feel.

Loving the quality of life changes moving forward with the game: Enhanced mobility (holographic glider, grappling hook, underwater swimming). Places to grab onto will be made visible with the Focus scan instead of being obvious bright yellow spots. Better melee combat. Enemies with armour that can be ripped off like with machines, making human encounters more tactical. More options in fights offering verticality & enhanced versatility. Enemies riding machines will add a new challenge for multiple fights. Guerilla have outdone themselves & I am so excited to see the full game.
Don't forget we can now climb structures mid-combat to escape or presumably for an airborne attack but large machines can also destroy said structures. The combat is really going to be interesting this time around we have even more tools to be creative.

Sony's smartest decision was releasing Zero Dawn to the public for free right before this. They are definitely getting my money, this game is gorgeous.
I found out about this game when HZD was launched on PC. Till then I never knew a game like this ever existed! And even the graphics of HZD was brilliant for a 2017 game, I feel it's an equal to AC Valhalla graphics which u know is a 2020 November released game!

yeah that's not happening. The fact that flying mount glitch works is the proof it's not something limited by the PS as stated and as PC players have already discovered, the game is not really limited at all. The main reason that's not gonna be a part of game is flying mounts would allow you to skip combat and fights entirely and discover and enter forbidden areas, not great at all for the gameplay so nope
@@MaxC_1 i mean every meaningful combat with new machines are usually tied with missions and even when you need parts from certain machines you would have to go by foot anyways. so i dont think flying would "skip" combat.

I completely agree with you. I was expecting only a few added game mechanics, but this blew my expectations out of the water. I really hope this doesn’t turn into the Cyperpunk, or Atomic Heart situation, where the gameplay was faked, or shown without glitches and errors.
@@jackshapiro4668 thats kind of rare for a sony big name exclusive. They usually have a strong quality assurance team. All big name exclusives have been pretty solid in recent years.
Now I hope they improved the secondary quests aswell, oh and also the armors I hope they're more useful this time around.

It's not really the textures that have gotten better...its all about lighting. Once RTX lighting becomes better developed and even used on ancient PS5 GPUs...or consoles in general...then we will see a jump in graphics. But exclusive titles always have a super high detailed look to them...I want to play this regardless of how shiny the water looks to you

Loving the quality of life changes moving forward with the game:
Enhanced mobility (holographic glider, grappling hook, underwater swimming).
Places to grab onto will be made visible with the Focus scan instead of being obvious bright yellow spots.
Better melee combat.
Enemies with armour that can be ripped off like with machines, making human encounters more tactical.
More options in fights offering verticality & enhanced versatility.
Enemies riding machines will add a new challenge for multiple fights.
Guerilla have outdone themselves & I am so excited to see the full game.
I played HZD on pc, it was way better than last 3 Assassin's Creed!
And there is still loads more to show too

Don't forget we can now climb structures mid-combat to escape or presumably for an airborne attack but large machines can also destroy said structures. The combat is really going to be interesting this time around we have even more tools to be creative.
No one is talking about the lack of yellow paint everywhere you can climb. The holographic outlines make a lot more sense imo

I found out about this game when HZD was launched on PC. Till then I never knew a game like this ever existed!
And even the graphics of HZD was brilliant for a 2017 game, I feel it's an equal to AC Valhalla graphics which u know is a 2020 November released game!
They have already offered HZD for free in PS4 at may month.

When Aloy is underwater her hair animation looks great.
Yeah, all her animations do. She has so many different swim movements, it just looks natural.
The animations when climbing and using the pullcaster like here 12:47 are also amazing.

The PS4 couldn't handle that, so being a cross gen game means neither version gets it.
I would be but might take away the enjoyment of swinging from points as we saw here. I am undecided if I want flying or not...
I would honestly be happy if she could at least mount the water machines, like the snapmaws, or the other new one mentioned
yeah that's not happening. The fact that flying mount glitch works is the proof it's not something limited by the PS as stated and as PC players have already discovered, the game is not really limited at all. The main reason that's not gonna be a part of game is flying mounts would allow you to skip combat and fights entirely and discover and enter forbidden areas, not great at all for the gameplay so nope
@@MaxC_1 i mean every meaningful combat with new machines are usually tied with missions and even when you need parts from certain machines you would have to go by foot anyways. so i dont think flying would "skip" combat.
