    The Mugger Crocodile is also found in Iran in the westernmost point of its habitat, I think they're smaller here due to less food, strangely they rarely attack people and despite lucrative market for their skin, the locals protect them because they believe "Gandoo" (the local name for Mugger Crocs) keeps the water clean.

    Nice video. One thing extra I feel is worth mentioning is that crocodilian behavior (eg. More aggressive vs less aggressive) is often based on the regional history and current country policies. For example, a part of the Nile where rebels used to dump their victims got those crocs in that area craving humans, which still is a problem to this day. Costa Rica where their environmental laws allow companies to agitate and feed the crocodiles for tourists - has since created a very aggressive species of the American crocodile. Contrast that to adjacent Panama where it isn't permitted, their American crocs are super chill (relative).
    External factors 🤷🏼‍♂️. I'd assume this is the case everywhere for all wildlife, how humans can have such an impactful affect on various animal behaviors in regards to their evolution in the respective geographic region.

      All are dangerous, but not all are overly aggressive as others

    • @royarg8603
      @royarg8603 Год назад +3

      Their natural aggression tends to correlate to their food availability. Nile and Saltwater crocs regularly face dry seasons when food is scarce so they have to be aggressive so they can feed when food finally becomes available. American crocs, despite growing to similarly large sizes, have access to food year-round and so end up being more docile. The only exception I've found to this rule is the Cuban crocodile which is surprisingly aggressive for a smaller-sized crocodile. Perhaps the fact that it's a more social crocodile means aggression is required to fight for food between the "pack."
      It's interesting that humans are affecting those tendencies by feeding them. Maybe they're recreating the Cuban croc scenario: by humans feeding the crocs they create situations where the more aggressive and dominant crocs end up being the ones at the front getting fed and thus incentivize that aggression.

They’re very fierce looking too but they aren’t the biggest. Just so all you know Alligators/Crocodiles are solid creatures made up of pretty much all muscle with a much harder bone density then ours. Around the end of the 19th century, an American Alligator that measured at 20 ft. was shot in Louisiana. It isn't official because they couldn't move it, so it washed away in the tides. Those old monsters are practically non-existent now though, but I'm sure there is probably a monster or two in a remote swamp somewhere. There are plenty of 13 footers in Lake Okeechobee.

    • @CrocodylusAlt

There is also many other reports from biologist that mention caimans from 4.8-6.4m with the 6-meter giants being from before the skin slaughter, and we still have skulls of alleged giants while the alligator has no remains at all to support such large sizes. The largest verified alligator was only 4.5m as well or just under 15 ft at 14 ft 9 inches killed by Mandy Stokes in 2014.

    its freaky to think over 2 thousand years ago that these crocidiles were at least 40 feet big in height and about 40 feet in length on the ground and would eat those huge birds back then out the sky that were about 25 feet long with wings out and body about 15 feet long. its crazy to think as you would be walking home one day and 1 of those huge birds just flew down and picked you up and away you went screaming. its funny to think at that height they flew you wouldnt just want it to drop and kill you. in the films all those birds looked huge. most animals back then were huge, i dont get how they ended up gone forever? but crocodilises are the only animals that remind me of those species 2 thousand years ago. and crocs were here alot longer than that? a million years ago they say crocs have been here. As they have that prehistoric look about them! and they did well to still be here after the rest died off or were killed off. a mean imagine dragons walking about! and these animals were huge in size and weight. there was even birds at 30 feet tall, one peck from them and your dead. it would be like a sword going into you.

    dude, 8,5m crocs are caught and documented. As for non-documented ones, the Africans narrate about 11m crocs killed and measured, but not properly recorded by photo or video means.

And yeah it's their dream environment but at the same time Humans who don't know the difference are going to screw with them and they're going to get eaten and that's a good Thing

    So far I see 6 or 7 of my favorite True Crocodiles. Hmm… I think there 1 shy or overlooked type that could’ve been on this & could’ve been titled “10 Of The Largest Crocodilians In The World”. Let me see. Saltwater Crocodile, Nile Crocodile, Orinoco Crocodile, American Crocodile, Mugger Crocodile, False Gharial “More closely related to True Crocodiles.” Umm… Oh I know what’s missing. This other African Crocodile that’s possibly Big enough as a Large Species. The African Slender Snouted Crocodile. The Largest can reportedly grow up to 4.5 m (15 ft) in length. That’s obviously Big enough.

    Crocodiles and alligators were my no 1 fear as a kid. I feel uneasy every time I go to the rivers. Now the fear is almost gone. I'm still avoiding large Crocs/alligators, of course, I still see them as dangerous creatures. But, if I have no choice especially if I have to protect someone, I'm ready to face them. With weapon of course. Lol... 😁
