The smooth-coated otter have been established in Singapore along the river! Really cool to see otters in an urban environment living peacefully with humans.

There are even bigger family of otters in Singapore though, sometimes they cross a busy road together during heavy traffic luckily there are people around that helps to signal to vehicle to slow down or stop completely to allow them passage. Singapore urban otters are probably one of the most documented otters in the world.

The section with both species of clawless otters is actually wrong. African clawless otters are the larger species, and they grow up to 36 kg, with the 21 stated being the upper average weight range, while congo clawless otters grow up to 34 kg and have a similar average weight range (I think the difference between them is negligible enough to consider them the same size).

So this is literally the only video that I've watched that would call the sea otter the largest. I wouldn't call it the largest because not only are they not the longest, but their fut is what makes up their weight. It just seems ridiculous to call them #1. They should have been #2. The river otter is literally the largest otter. The sea otter has the thickest fur. I think that weight difference is unique for that.

Ah the otter part of the Mustelidae , people forget how inteligent how vicious they are . even the smallest weasel takes on prey many times it size , Otters are direct relatives to the skunks , wolverines , Badgers and honey badgers. This should be enough to know to stay away from these animals , they might look friendly , but they are dangerous smart and even know how to use primitive tools.

While beaver trapping in northern Arkansas it is fairly common to catch river otter as well. This is just a comment on the "Maximum Length", it is low for North American River Otter as we have caught a few that were over 5 feet in length.
