    It's a beautiful bonnet. I do a long tail cast on without a knot and always get 2 stitches from the start. I saw you didn't make a knot and only one stitch is cast on! I watched it dozens of times and finally got how you did it!!! Thank you so much. What an improvement on uniformity of cast on and avoid the knot! So grateful to you for generously sharing your time and talents. God bless you. Thank you for posting this tutorial.

And then maybe I can guide you with the correct number of stitches. Message me on my instagram @littleknits.ro

    Love this tutorial, I'm making my bonnet now. Just curious when you pass the yarn over the 2 stitches does that then become one stitch? Or in the next row do you purl both of those stitches individually? Sorry I hope that questions makes sense.

    • @aromanianknitterinnorway

      Hi Haley, so happy that you like it! I purl them individual because if you purl them toghether you will end the row with less stiches . Also that yarn over is not really a stich, it just gives texture to the bonnet. Thank you for watching! ❤

      No, I finished the row 2 with k3 (k2, k1) but on the first row I purled the first stitches together with the tail from the cast on so I double those stitches using this method, that is why it seems like 2 stitches.

    I am trying to make this bonnet in a larger size and I want to make sure I am doing it right. I have cast on a multiple of four stitches, is that right? The video and description have different info. And when I start decreasing do I decrease in the same way over the larger amount of stitches?

    • @aromanianknitterinnorway
      @aromanianknitterinnorway  3 года назад

    • @aromanianknitterinnorway
      @aromanianknitterinnorway  3 года назад +1

      I've made the correction , indeed in the video I said 52 plus 2, but I forgot to mention that those plus 2 sts as edge stitches, one in every side, but only if you want an extra 2 sts.
      For 4 month old, I would cast on 60 sts and after finishing the bonnet I would make an I-cord edge as I show at the end of the Concept Bonnet. I will work in pattern until my work measures 11.5 - 12 cm and the I will start the decrease from k8, k2tog. The bonnet should measure at the end, folded as the picture of the tutorial, 14x14 cm. But you can adjust the measurements if you are working the bonnet for your little one. Adjust by adding more stitches (Cast on 64, for example) and working more cm. I hope this will help you. If you need more info, please, let me know.

    Hello from Türkiye 🙋‍♀️I started 86 stitches. I ama using different wool yarn that has the same gauge whit 3.5 mm needles.i knit about 13 cm. (?) For a 6-12 month old baby, I think it is big. Would it be suitable for a 12-18 month old baby? How many cm should be ? And i will start the decrease from k12 ,k2 tog whould this be true

    • @aromanianknitterinnorway
      @aromanianknitterinnorway  3 года назад +1

      Hi, it is big for 6 months. You need to measure, if you have 32 cm wide , then is for 12 months old, maybe for 18 months old depending on the baby. For 6 months I would cast on 64-68 sts. For 6 months old you need to work 11.5-12 cm and then start to decrease, divide the no of sts to 6, for example 66 sts :6 = 6 repeats of 11 sts and the decrease starts from k9, k2tog.
      For 12 months you need to work until you have 13-13.5 cm and then start the decrease. For 12 months I would cast on 76-78 sts, at the end I would work an I cord as I show at the end of Concept Bonnet video-tutorial. If you have any questions, please message me.
