every now & than you `stumble` across a sound , a band and right away you knów it ; you FEEL it > this is my kinda sound!!!!....thats what happened to me listening to these guys for the first time.....I just can`t get enough of this , every one of their tunes is mesmerizing , takes me into some sort of dreamy , happy and totally feel good mood....this is what has been missing so long > Khruanbin is the BOMB!!!!
I am a month late but I love what I have found in this last month. Found Greta Van Fleet a few weeks later found Vulfpeck and then Khraugbin (ruclips.net/video/q4xKvHANqjk/видео.html) kept coming up in recommendations and I was like okay I will check it for a few mins. Little did I know I had to drop what I supposed to do and watch the whole fifty mins live show and then hunt for more. Found them at 9 pm now its 2.33 am and still cant get enough their sound.
Only found these guys TONIGHT after hearing a clip of their track "Number 4" on a Corona ad ffs! lol....Tracked the name of the song down and discovered these guys...n girl!...What a great sound, what a great band!!
I know that exact feeling, and I felt it with these guys as well. I've gone down a complete rabbit hole with their music and just them as people... Moments like this are what I live for a music listener. I think that we aren't alone, they seem to be attracting quite a few of us - something special is happening my friend!
I am 68 years old now. So many of the people I know are still listening to the old hippie music. That is fine, but I decided a long time ago I was not going to be stuck in the past. I decided I would have an open mind and explore music. I recently discovered this group. They are great. I have discovered some wonderful jazz, space rock- Lunar Dunes, Electric Octopus, Still Trip, world music, Cafe del Mar, and much more. This is some fine music. Fine musicians. And the lady is lovely!
I feel like the bassist is vibing like kim deal, you can see the joy being locked in the groove and the happiness and sensuality that she radiates. yeah I'm slightly obsessed.
I've been checking this band out for a couple of days now, noticing the effect their music has on me and the responses of others and I've concluded, they're not about music! The music is great, mind you! They are all great on their instruments, the compositions are strong, cohesive and communicative. What they are about, whether its conscious or unconscious, is a vibe! They are "actors", in costume, musicians playing the role of musicians coming from a certain place and time that really never existed except in our imaginations. It's a simpler place and time where we imagine that people loved each other and loved music. This band, with their music and visual presentation induces a mental state comparable to being on drugs...and we are, only the drugs are produced naturally behind our perceptions of what we'd like to believe is reality. Not really different from when we listen to any other music, but with this band it's so subtle, but it's not, it's really in your face, but wrapped in subtlety!
superb analysis. I have to say, now that I think about what you wrote... I agree. So that would mean that it is is a sort of utopia that they are conjuring...
Damn, these guys have their sound so sorted. DJ's snare is super tight and Laura's bass is super '70's dubwise. Mark Speer's guitar is the icing on the cake. Super Subtle.
That understated intro with the light guitar and the lowkey snare drum fill going into that totally understated, but so so heavy, first bar of the song is so dope it should be illegal!
When Mark first met Laura I wonder how long it took him to get this point: I want her in my next band. They were friends, also with DJ the drummer, for three years and at some point he teachers her how to play bass. What I have not heard is whose idea was it? Hers, his? If I were him I would do anything to keep her nearby. But she got lucky didn't she? She hated her job and wanted to do something different and there was Mark and DJ at just the right time. Someone please write the autobiography of this band, I'm talking to you writers in the Houston area. They have a definite feel good vibe about them and people want to know how they got there.
Great camera angles got DJ also, could not hear the Bass, as well as in other RUclips videos like "pitchfork" that one has amazing sound quality especially the subtle base U hear it ,but this has better camera angles. Eitherway amazing Band. Luv their music. Obsessed.
Mark is faboulous ! I would love to play my Strat like he does ... Laura is the most amazing bassist woman that I know ! and Donald gots an incredible style !
@@sooohaib92 Yeeeees! Bit of a shame for me though. The acoustics in the venue in my town is awful! It's a sports arena, so not a proper concert hall. I recently saw The Black Keys there a couple of months ago and it was a shame how bad it sounded. No fault of the band at all, just not a good place for music.
I was sitting on a cancer ward in Bangkok with a flask of whisky, 2017. Waiting for my wife’s pain to end. I listened to Khruangbin ครับ
Simply phenomenal...pure goodness for the soul. Just what the world needs. Thank you Khruangbin.

rembeadgc Man, are you on drugs?
We all are, all the time.
rembeadgc hell yeah

Dude, awesome explanation... and I'll take the drugs you were on when you wrote this. Great stuff!
I love Khruangbun from Japan."Kanpai!"
Best drum solo I've heard in a long while.
agreed
😂 I guess that’s what we like in this band, original melodies, tight sound and simplicity
I've listened to/watched everything I could find on this amazing band for quite a few months now...how have I just found this clip? Awesome!

A men!!
It looks like he might be rocking a piccolo snare.
Now I know the world is beautiful
Goddamnit, Mark Speer.

Oh Dear. Now I have to buy more Records
AMAZING
I think you three are soothing the world's soul.
DJ must be the coolest drummer ever !!

well if you
believe in god like these agnostic poets they all meet at church in texas
Someone I know was working at a big ad agency with LL in London which still uses Khruangbins music on its tv work.
If they do a Netflix series about them I'm game

This song sounds so good in my ears..
I got tears of joy!
I love how they always do the dip thing when he bends the note haha. In most performances too haha
Mark is faboulous ! I would love to play my Strat like he does ... Laura is the most amazing bassist woman that I know ! and Donald gots an incredible style !
Big thanks from Brazil 🙏👏
Feel good music. Hope they play Scotland.
Food for the soul! Damn this i sooo good! Chapeau!!!!

Such a sweeeeeet groove!
She's soooo cuuuuuuute

So exacting -
Laura Lee is an absolute legend. The other guys are cool, too.
un deleite para mis oidos
They are a bit shy, but the music is pleasant. The bass player is very pleasing to the eyes.
Great band👍
Like when she "changes it up" with the dark lipstick.
Laura lee has probably one of the best bass sound ever.
Best in Khruangbin
That's because she's never changed her strings.
@@jasonnn2284 That's disgusting...why, just why?
@@BlGGESTBROTHER No idea!
Original strings going on 10 years plus string mutes.
ending it so soon made me want te next song in the playset :?/ August 10
This is the type of band that Kevin Parker listens to and would have nice things to say about.
Good news buddy. They're opening for Tame Impala on their 2020 tour!

Don't you love Mike mocking Laura's movements?
Maybe she's mocking him. 😘😅
She's such a fox.
