You also need to just throw away the access port and let Steve do an open source tune. Even with an un updated ap, they're are subpar at best

I had the same problem tried different cable different ap always did it at higher rpm. I was done wasting my time went with rom raider and never looked back. My car was a wrx swapped gc8 though so my ecu was compatiable.

I am going to try one last thing before I call it quits. I have been told the grounding for this generation is the only one that is terrible, so I will try a grounding kit to see if that fixes the issue

Having the same issues, never got it to work. I order new cable and didn’t work either.

Interesting, I've got the same problem in my 04 XT 4EAT, but not in my 04 XT 5Spd, both have basically the same engine mods. I had this problem with both the AP v2 and V3, Cobb told me they weren't familiar with the issue and sent me down a rabbit hole. I've never solved the problem, interested if you find a solution. I've often wondered if it had to do with something on the OBD2 port itself. I know iWire sells an OBD2 replacement kit, I was considering doing that next.

I saw that too when I was researching the issue, but I did remove my OBD2 port and wires it directly to my new OBD2 port for the accessport and still had the same issue.

Its probably your shitty battery causing the Cobb to trip out, not trying to sound rude at all. It's just how I talk and yeah, just my two cents.
