Thx for this video and details. My garden guy can't do my yard so at 80 I bought the Ego 615 for my small yard and now I'm hopeful that I will be successful. I'll check to see if you have vacuum video. I say always check with a pro for whatever job as you guys do this all the time. Cheers
I just bought the gutter cleaning attachment kit .. so far it really has exceeded expectations.. great for under decks, camper roofs and gutters … or anyplace hard to reach ….I just got to remember to set it up so it’s turned to tighten not loosen ..Thanks for sharing your expertise…
I got the 615 with 2.5ah battery for my yard with a lot of leaves and had turbo smashed most the time. It lasted about 10-15 mins but it moved a lot of leaves. We did have a sale on the 650 and I decided to return my 615 and pay $50 more to get the 650 with the 5ah battery. Was $171 out the door with black friday sale, my Lowes employee discount and a $25 gift card. Just got off work and have the battery charging now. I definitely need some turbo restraint so thanks for the video.
I used a 530 blower for about 3 hours yesterday.. I’m glad I watched your video first .. Definitely the turbo only in bursts with a shoveling motion .. Some great tips here … cause it’s getting to be that time of year… round here.. Thanks ..!
Love the EGO blowers. I just have a normal size yard so I went with the 615CFM with the 2.5 Ah battery because it made the blower so much lighter. I also have the EGO Trimmer, so that gives me an extra battery in case I need it. The 650 CFM with the 5 Ah battery gets a bit too heavy for me if you're not used to using the blower on a daily basis like you guys do! 👍
I'm going full on EGO. I sold all my Dewalt battery operated lawn equipment. I've got the mower, weed eater, and hedge trimmers. Just deciding on which blower to go with. I do believe I'll go with the 650CFM model. Seems like the most sensible and with all these batteries I'm getting with the others I'll have enough to do my large yard. They have the 765CFM model out now but its just too big. I don't need the weight either.
Hey Michael! Have you seen the new Ego products expected for 2022? The new blower is lookin👍🏻. I’m finally getting my own battery operated business off the ground up here in Canada. I’m having both the lawn care and RUclips (media) business separate as I document my own business journey. Huge shoutout to you and the team for all your battery related content. Hope to meet you one day at GIE once COVID slows down a bit. Stay tuned for the RUclips channel. Cheers!
Hey Gabe! Thanks for watching and best of luck. Yes, the Ego products look pretty good this coming year. I can't wait to try the blower. And, I hope to meet you as well.
I'm getting some great ideas from you. I'm solo and have totally changed my business model. I've been using some handheld cordless equipment for a several years. This year might be the year I get cordless Weed Trimmers, Edger, Mower. I'm just not happy with the blowers yet. I just want to see more run time. I have to see a solid ROR to make it worth while. Efficiency ranks #1 with me. Great videos.
any news of a wide deck battery mower yet? also have you tried the greenworks 21 inch mower? i hear that is pretty good. and are you using the new ego select cut XP? or just the regular select cut?
Unfortunately not. Lots of companies saying they are developing one. But, nothing concrete yet. I have heard great things about the GW 21" ironically. Very different than the 25". We use an old Ego mower as a backup. I've not tried the SelectCut yet. Thanks for commenting and watching.
Good video as I use the 650 cfm blower...but I found out a little trick with this blower...i use the 5.0A battery and the blower blows pretty good...but I notice when I use my 7.5A battery it makes the blower blow even faster and especially in turbo mode...unless this is working for me only but I noticed it a few uses and tried the 5.0A first and then the 7.5A and forsure there was a difference in speed on its normal high speed but in turbo it whines like a turbine as you can feel more push on the blower also...i am going to get the new 765 cfm and try this also to see if there is a difference and hopefully this will work for others on the 650 cfm blower..unless I have a weird blower...hehe.but works better with the 7.5A battery...and it can run on turbo much longer then with the 5.0A battery and get better speed. 😊
@@QuietLawn Ahh I see then it wasn't just me that this was working...at first when using the 5.0A battery and blower going slower...i thought the blower was something wrong with it...but it is a new blower....good to know this and yes to keep the weight down with a 5.0A forsure as the 7.5A it gets a little on a person after a while...thanks for replying. 🤗
Bought first Ego blower and it lasted 1 year. Called helpline and tested battery with them and battery ok. They sent me another one. It lasted 3 months. Called helpline, same procedure and they sent me another one. Third one lasted 15 minutes. Called helpline, same procedure and now have fourth one. Have not tried it yet. It does work, however. I returned second and third one as requested. They told me to throw away first one. Hard to understand. All uses on light leaf blowing on small lawn.
That's how ALL power tools are haha. I got sucked into Ridgid with the $99 impact and drill combo not knowing it was their brushed models and the 2 batteries were 1.5ah batteries.. I didn't really know any better back then like i do now but literally every brand has an entry level combo kit for $99 or there about and its the batteries and the other brushless tools that get ya. Im happy with my Ridgid tools and expanding on the line I got a brushless circ saw with 4ah battery and an impact wrench with battery.. both costing about $160ish but yah man the batteries are what cost an arm and a leg.

Have the battery powered version of this blower. Absolutely terrific.

Oh, that's great. I need to try that as we're starting to offer this service.

Thank you sir! Yes, it makes a huge difference in the runtime without losing much performance.
Just purchased the 615 ego blower and im totally impressed with the power
They are powerful
Thanks for the video. I just purchased one today. I can't wait to use it. I will definitely try your technique. 🍻
I love this channel. Ramping up a California Solo service.
Great! Thank you for watching
Great idea! Thank you for sharing. I never would have thought of how to extend the run time!
Thank you very much! Saves us a lot.
Good to know thanks ...I have the 765 cfm blows and goes but thirsty on constant turo.
absolutely brilliant. I would never have figured that out in a month of Sundays
You probably wouldn't figure out a lot of things.
@@QuietLawn WELL THANK the lord for the u tub where would I be with out that

It's hard to compete with their blowers. They are great. Thanks for commenting.

I've got to get one of these! I can hardly wait to do some fall cleanups with an acre of knee deep leaves and debris!🤪
cool
How do you pick up pine needles when driving a Prius?
We don't
I use mine with the tip off. It creates more cfm and blows things much farther away. I've run a few tests to confirm this.
Nice! I agree. I've used the flat tip and it seems much weaker.
What is the lifespan of the battery with such heavy daily use? How many years before runtime starts to degrade?
Typically 2 years or so for these Ego batteries.
I wonder how this would compare to the Kress?
Kress is a good bit stronger. Everything else the same
I heard that this weighs around 16 lbs. If this is correct, is this too heavy?

Yes sir. The 7.5ah batteries definitely generate more power. We just use the 5ah to keep the weight down.

@@retroman1215 yes sir. It's the same with most of their tools. And the 2.5ah is even slower. Thanks for watching and have a great day.
Have you tried the ego 765 blower yet?
I have not yet. I've heard it's great though.
@@QuietLawn I'm thinking it might be as powerful as the 650 holding the turbo button but with the battery life of not using the turbo button
Purchased a used Mean Grean Machine with 150 hours
Nice! Like brand new
Looks like you are holding down the turbo button much longer than a 1 to 1.5 sec to me

Goodness. It sounds like they've gotten worse.
Why does EGO charge more for the batteries than the tool cost? Doesn't make sense at all.
Yeah, I agree. I think they get you in with cheap tool prices knowing you'll need to buy their batteries for everything.
