    I admire the hard work behind setting these up and maintaining them. I'm the guy who leaves his cellphone charger in the socket for weeks on end. One thing I don't think I've ever come across is a video where a cinematographers talks about insurance for all of this stuff. Would be fascinating.

      Insurance def is a huge aspect of our career and I bet not many people even have insurance! Would be a good video, will add to the list

    this was legit. just in time for a shoot in a few weeks. the client will love having this handy. that 702 touch is my dream monitor. my portkeys BM5ii is cool n all, but i need a larger screen!

    This is a great rig and v mount battery can power this for hours. It’s bit heavy but still, practical.

    Nice build indeed. Latency on the Hollyland seems to be a bit high for focus pulling. They say it`s 0,08 sec, but it`s clear visible, so it must be lot more.

    Loved this one Mac. Great build. There's a new Feelworld monitor that's out and it has a dummy battery to attach something like a Hollyland receiver. I might be doing a similar build to yours soon.

    How hard is for u set the focus properly with the Zcam? It’s my main fear when I think about switching from my Canon to the ZCam..

    • @MacOlink
      @MacOlink  4 года назад +2

      Not hard at all! You just need to practice shooting manual focus

    BMVA is a better option for monitors if u ask me, Has SDI and Hdmi where small hd still only has one option unless u buy the mega exspensive monitor with terra built in

    I see a lot of latency, how do you deal with that when pulling focus?

  • @ebenatti

    Very good but in your setup I don't see a follow focus like Tilta that I want to use otherwise I can only watch. Any idea where to put it for using it in the best way?

    The wireless video transmission doesn’t cause camera screens to go black, does it?
    My Canon 80d screen goes black when I connect my SmallHD Focus 7...

    Great build! I’ve been looking for a v Mount battery option as these NPF’s don’t last very long. I currently have my monitor attached to a baby pin that’s attached to my production cart.
    My concern is, the cage is mounted with a 1/4 20 screw on a baby pin. It’s already pretty heavy with it loaded hanging on to that tiny screw. Everything wobbles as I travel to the next set with my camera cart and could only imagine having a v Mount battery attached to it. Should I be concerned and is there anything you’d recommend for a solid hold?

    • @RedSalamanderr

      Especially with a v Mount battery attached

      I recently picked up the Nitze directors monitor cage… makes this entire build more more seamless and durable. Look into an actual system like that. Because then you can mount a quick release plate to it or something like that, a bit beefier

  • @BlasterDavo
    @BlasterDavo 3 года назад

    Is there some kind of baby pin receiver you could add to something like this so you could quickly mount it on a stand?

    • @MacOlink
      @MacOlink  3 года назад +1

      You can attach a quick release plate to the bottom rod clamp!

    also those are NOT 4" rods. if you're mirroring this setup. BUY BIGGER RODS than the 4" linked above.

      Haha this is no where near $2000! Total cost of this is around $700-$800 depending on what monitor your buy!
