I'm getting ready to head into grad school in the U.S. & seriously considering moving to Ireland after I graduate! Your videos are so helpful-thank you so much! Just subscribed yesterday! :)
The bottles and cans of drinks will have the recycling deposit on them. 15c per bottle/can under 500ml and 25c for bottles up to three litres. The deposit can be claimed back at one of the reverse vending machines.
I've been pretty good about avoiding snacks as my New Year's resolution, but I was nearly crying as I watched your grocery haul. Yikes! Temptation! So many goodies that I must try to avoid! I loved the beach scene! Where I am, fog is a real treat and sunny skies are just another reason to stay indoors!
@@mcginnsteph Brutal is a mild word for our heat here in Phoenix during the summer. On average, we get 111 days/year of over 100 degrees and in 2023 we had an extra 33 days over 100 (and 54 of them were over 110). So literally almost half the year it gets over 100. Even though it is a dry heat for all but July through September, it's still miserable. It's the difference between baking and boiling. I have such fond memories of Ireland's gray-blanket sky and cold, misty wind on a nice December or January day!
Yeah I might have been slightly off in saying when we need to order by 🤣 I just know it’s something in advance lol but yeah they’re quite handy! And a nice amount of options!
Great video, and apologies in advance for the upcoming negativity! But as someone who has lived in Ireland since birth, Ireland has become super unaffordable for many people. Sure the cost of living crises has pretty much hit everywhere, but over past few years Ireland has secured 1st place in EU, in terms of high cost living proportional to wages. I make almost triple the salary compared to before covid, yet it honestly seems that my disposable income has halved. Grocery prices are only tip if the iceberg - property and utility prices now eat a big chunk of many people's salaries Personally, thinking of emigrating to somewhere a bit cheaper (I work remotely, so it may be an option) Anyway, glad you're enjoying the green Isle 😀
@@squareapples5118 No apologies needed, very valid concerns and important points to bring up!! I know it’s a generalized statement but almost everywhere has their pros and cons (and boy did I notice cost of things increasing in the states too lol, groceries more expensive than Ireland) I could contribute more frustrations about Ireland too 😝 but then I could go on about the states (g** violence, rights being taken away… etc) ah it’s tough 🫤 like I said, you’re concerns are of course valid and I agree/appreciate your comment! I think an important take away, is that we just speak up and use our voices!
I haven't been in the store for a couple of months so I have not seen their new swimwear collection but M&S would be' a superior quality than Dunnes but still affordable.
You have such beautiful young skin PLEASE PLEASE do not go on those sun beds. You will regret it in later life, believe me. There are such great tanning locations to choose from.
I was actually wondering about your job! So nice to hear the update. Love grocery haul videos so definitely enjoyed that bit!

Yes, we actually always had bottle deposit and return in Michigan lol so I was familiar when they brought it in here in IRL

I am enjoying the lunch offerings at my daughter’s school in Ireland. The app is great! We have to order on a Thursday for the following week.

Oh that’s a good idea!! I didn’t think to check there; I’ll give them a browse!
That's true, but you can also be lucky in tesco they've some nice kids swimwear at the minute as well 👍🏼
Hi Steph
Where have you been lately. Hope al is ok/
Awe thanks for this message! All is well! Actually editing a video now, might be up tonight or tomorrow. Take care ☺️

No suntan is a good tan. All cause skin damage and increase cancer risk.
@@raddoc1993I was thinking it was the lesser of two evils. But of course your right.
