Sentry drop safe refuses to open

- This safe will not trigger the solenoid to release the handle after puttimg the correct digital code into the keypad. Need ideas on how to get this thing open so I can remove the contents and scrap this junk pile.

I ended up using a sawsall at both sides of the top drawer where you stuff the cash. It literally took me about 10 seconds per side with a regular blade to cut the rod that stops the top drawer from opening too far. You can get into theae things so easy that it is a false sense of security to think they will protect your valuables.
Have an older GM2459E 23.5 cf Sentry gun safe with control pad, do you happen to know how to remove the front touch pad in order to change the batteries, thanks
with a sawzall or regular hacksaw blade, cut open the drop tray by inserting the blade vertically in each side and cutting down through the 3/8 inch threaded rod. the tray comes right out. reach inside with a mirror, light, and phillips screwdriver, remove the inside cover, release the solenoid, open the safe, remove the solenoid, weld a couple of tabs with holes to the front of the door, repair the tray you cut , and just use a combination or keyed padlock.
Just changed the batteries on mine and it worked
I hope everyone tries new batteries first, copper tops are best. Some times batteries seem good but don't have enough power, on 9 volt models I have paired up two in parallel
Mind was doing the same, fixed it with new batteries, maybe I was lucky but worth a try!
How and where do you add the batteries. Can’t open to add batteries. It beeps faint greenish/yellow but doesn’t open.

These things are junk. I wouldn't put anything of real importance inside it.

I've got the same one doing the same exact thing! Opened it three weeks ago with no problem. Had it for years with no problem. And now I hear no audible response for the opening mechanisms when I enter in my correct code and get a green light like you. Super infuriating. Not even worth the $6 I spent on new batteries thinking that was the problem.
Read my other comment. I was able to cut it open in just a few seconds. I wouldn't use this safe to protect a ham sandwich.
@@tylerexperience I actually did exactly what you described with my sawzall. Took all of about 10 seconds! It was shocking. Doesn't really matter in the long run because no one in my line of business pays with cash anymore as it is. Thanx for the tip though on getting it open, now the safe goes to the metal scrapers.

It just happened the same with your. Do you have any idea?
I used a sawzall and cut the metal that stops the drop door from opening past a certain point. Then you can pull the entire top door off. It took about 30 seconds.
Had the same problem I just needed to change batteries
Have you tried a rare earth magnet? Seen ppl open them in seconds with the magnet.

Coz I see u doing *77777#
1.) Press #
2.) Press *
3.) Press *
4.) Press 143808
5.) Press # (you will hear a single beep and see a green or yellow light)
Your safe is now set to the factory settings of *777777# for the Master Code and *0000# for the Manager Code.

I did the same shit. Bought the safe from my neighbor and was pulling it up to me driveway. Well there is a 2" lip that is higher than the street. So instead of lining up so the 2 wheels will hit the lip evenly and squared. My dumb ass tried pulling it up from the street to my driveway at a 45-degree angle. So the one wheel hit first and got cough. Well. I'm sure you see the picture. It started to tip to my right side. Hey, I'm a tough guy! I tried to grab it. Hell, no...
I tried to keep it up for about 8 inches. Then I had to let go or risk permanently making myself disabled fir the rest of my life
I drropped it.. duh...
It took 3 of us to lift it upright.
Now, the lock is open, and the code works.
It doesn't open now.......😂
Anyone, um, out there have a solution?
Or should I throw it in the river?
I don't understand your question. It sounds like the lock opens and the code works but it doesn't open? If the lock works and functions and the door doesn't open then something must be stuck where the door swings open.
Mine was the same thing just needed a new battery 🪫
