The potatoes (on the board) are called 'Hasselbackspotatis' - very good but takes some time. To my knowledge you cant buy them frozen or premade. Well, maybe at a deli...
Nate has a pleasant voice with a deeper bass/baritone layer as foundation, with a higher frequency colouration that makes it melodious. The lower frequency will carry far as it does not get suppressed by "noise" and other "voices". No we cannot hear that in the video but we can understand it. If you (e.g.) play piano, listen carefully to his voice, and my guess, there may be 3 octaves distance between the lower base and higher aspect. If his singing voice equals his speaking voice (but that's rare) then he makes a good contribution in a choir - Bach, Singers Unlimited, or any style, but would need relative pitch for that.
Very wise decision to escape the madness of the Dutch New Year’s Eve. I am definitely going somewhere outside of the country and of Germany next year but somewhere I can go by car with my doggie. One of the things I love to do when I go visit somewhere, especially abroad, is try lots of different food also 😂 Very brave Katrina to do this freezing new year plunge, I would not do it, unless I was paid😅 I have a question, since you’ve traveled by plane a few times last year, I haven’t taken a plane in a few years now, and some people say it’s become hell to fly since the end of the pandemic, especially from Schipol (terrible delays, luggage lost…), but I was thinking about going to visit my father, who lives in Barcelona some time this year, so what’s your opinion on flying at the moment and especially from the Netherlands? Even though, since I am on the German border, maybe I would fly from Düsseldorf. Thanks in advance! 😊
Happy New Year! What a nice getaway. Funny thing, I was like, no, there are no CircleK's here, but apparently, I have been living under a rock. There are quite a few nowadays. I live in the south of the Netherlands, some 17 km from Maastricht, in a small village lwith 2000 inhabitants, and it gets loud here at New Year's. Although, this. year I feel it was a little less intense. One year it felt like they detonated a bomb right in my front yard. My cat is a scaredy cat to begin with, so in the past I'd barely see him, as he'd hide underneath the couch. This time around he was brave, only went under it once. And at midnight I just held him close to me, it seemed to work, after a while he just relaxed as if he realized he was safe under the blankie in my arms.
All the way up north in Europe and then still visiting one of the most recognizable American convenience stores. Don’t worry, you’re just like everyone else who moved abroad and takes every opportunity to get some of the stuff from the former home country 😜 You’re brave. I hope it was worth it. I’m usually freezing when it’s even 60 degrees, so no way I’m entering water of that temperature at free will. BTW: we’re waiting for the snow to stay away, but are afraid that it will be bad the coming days.
Brave woman, happy new year to you both. ps. where were the herbs on your potatoes? ;) ps2. a skoda is nothing else than a different styled vw. Mostly more practical.
If you learnt Dutch language idiom, flying from SPL is always a nice reminder of specific idiom: 1- je gaat het hoekje om - you turn around a little corner - you die, 2- je gaat de pijp uit - you go through/out-of the pipe - you die, 3- je gaat de kist in - you go into the coffin Play the video back and you see all three happen
The trema from citröen in Dutch and French is a breaking sign (zeeën (plural sea) in Dutch is zee and en. Citroën is citro and en. All gets really clear after a dive in the East Sea (watch out for your head! It is not deep in the beginning)
Technicality and detail - "poffertjes" ("little puffies") are not little "pancakes" in the sense they use another batter. Pancakes no yeast. Poffertjes with yeast. Other factors that can vary in the pancake part of batter, that both have, is ratio of flour to eggs to milk.
Why would one jump in icy cold water? It’s a good way to wake up I suppose, but not for me 😊 Happy newyear, may your future bathing be in warmer water 😂 (this was a one time thing, right?) Cabin looks nice and you got your snow.. I’d say trip went well,
Laat mij raden jij kreeg koude voeten ? en ging NIET voor een nieuwjaarsduik Let me guess you got cold feet? and did NOT go for a New Year's dive Frits uit Amsterdam
How could you possibly pronounce "Citroën" as "Citron"? The car brand is named after it's maker - French engineer André Citroën (1878-1935). One of the oldest car manufacturers - and it has absolutely nothing to do with lemons. Apparently not sold in North America though, so you're excused. 😉
Citroën was actually sold in the US until the 70’s when new and rather strange safety regulation put an end to it. Some foreign brands put those massive and ugly American bumpers on their cars to meet the requirements but Citroën refused. As a result, the French car brand can now be found in every country in the world except the USA.
...and for your next (winter)visit book a cabin with a sauna. Makes the winter bath so much more enjoyable. 🙂

I hope that little cottage had a sauna so you could go in there and warm up
That would have made the cottage even more perfect if it did!
To be honest that New Years dinner looked a bit boring, but I'm sure it was good! I would add some bearnaise or similar sauce and greens.
High light of this video 14:25 ❤ (hoogtepunt 😅)
She did good !! I m freezing just by sticking my HAND in the water...

Citroën comes from the Dutch word citroen. André Citroën came from an originally Dutch family and the family name was at first Limoenman.
Nice! 👍
be careful.....many Dutchies moving to Sweden...
Meat and patatoes, any questions? where the veggies at? 🤨😁
Oops…. 😬 ✌️❤️
Looks likes something my grandad would have cooked. 😉
OMG Katrina not for me! Give me the hot tub!
I wish we had a hot tub at the cottage! 😂
To get that really good feeling, I think you have to dip your head as well.
He says "yi7pdNK2YkU" "this is the cold shock response..."
I'll be honest. I came for the cleavage but stayed for the smile 😊
Happy new year and take care 🙏❤️
