    This is so cool. Miitomo might be dead. But it'd be amazing to see these used in some other virtual chatrooms of sorts.

    To be honest, I was analyzing this system by myself two months ago and was planning to use Unreal to implement it. However, the specific splitting method of modeling has not been fully considered in terms of expression depiction. You actually used Blender to implement it. Thank you so much!

    you are amazing this is amazing. one thing id like to see added at some point is a way to make facial features squash and stretch as well as a way to save the miis themselves

    Can this be customized? Would it be possible to replace the models and 2D images with our own work without breaking all these amazing control systems? I would love to be able to build original characters this way. No matter what, amazing work! I really appreciate all of it!

      yeah you can add custom models, you'd have to drop them into the collection you want, like extra head shapes in the head collection, and make sure theyre parented to the same empty as the other heads

      youd practically only need to make animal heads, the humans in AC are just stumpier miis

    For the exporting, I was messing around with baking and a bunch of premade image colors with the UV unwraping node.

    The exporting thing is messing me up, because now I can’t move the miis, the armature isn’t working, so I’ll wait for the next update! I’m already making miis!!!

    How do I just export the mii for use in other programs like unity
    Edit:did it but the vrchat sdk said it has 2.147 billion polygons so I can't even upload it on the PC side

    How do you move one body part(Arm for example) instead of control both at the same time?

      on the right below the viewport shading options theres a symmetry button, turn that off and you can move the limbs seperately

    Theoretically, could you animate the selector to have an animation of their face cycling through the different options? Just thought that might be a cool effect to use if a Mii gets bonked in the head or something

    Could you add the tomodachi life mouth opening? As well as adding an eye toggle to make the eyes wide open? I Do not know if I can animate the selections as I am new to blender.

    Great video and awesome system? idk what to call it but it's really cool! and is there anyway to change what eyes and mouths shuffle through in the face controls menu?
    But when I the limbs do the stretching thing you showed in the video and I've turned off IK stretch but it didn't do anything, how do i fix it?(I fixed it, I was using the standard IK Solver in the data properties {it looks like a little guy})

    im having issues trying to export it to fbx, whenever i remove the pickers and menu options, everything except the hair and body fall straight down to 0,0,0 coordinates, ive tried Alpha-ing all the options and some of it worked but it keeps going into grey boxes and i just want to export the stupid mii into unity, why is it so hard..plz help :(

    I'm sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm having trouble trying to export the mesh. I managed to find the Pose Controls but trying to make the Mii t-pose is impossible. It says I'm still selected on the body picker ("(54) Mii Armature: body picker") and I can't find a way to deselect it.

    I can't seem to get the pose controls to work. I select the same thingy that you do but it doesn't give me any of the pose options, and all the face options are still there even when I deselected the same thing you did. I'm using 4.0 if that changes things. sorry if I'm just dumb and clicked the wrong thing, this is my first time using blender... :')

    does anybody know if i can use texture painting etc to paint specific parts of the objects? (i do already have experience in texture painting, but i wanted to double check that it wouldn't do something weird haha)

      I didn't UV unwrap anything, but its should work if you do that. Just avoid saving over the images used for the 2d elements

      are you using Blender 4.0 or 4.1? if not, the selector doesn't show up so you'd need to download a later version :)

      For other programs, I don't know. If you wanna use it in another Blender file, you can just append the collection
