    What’s most disturbing is that someone finds it necessary to call the cops on another human just walking about and holding a message of hope. Some humans are horrible.

    The caller is a liar. She claimed Jeff was walking up and down the sidewalk “looking for money”, She should be investigated and cited.

      The first issue is that she called about a legal activity. She called the cops alleging not a single bit of criminality or danger or anything that should actually involve cops responding. So dispatch should have ignored her call.

      It’s not the dispatchers job to determine if a crime is happening. A dispatchers job is to dispatch an officer to determine the nature of the call and investigate if a crime has been committed.

    "A homeless man begging for money", THIS is why it's so important for police to investigate thoroughly BEFORE putting hands on someone as we have seen SO many times, people presume when they call 911 which usually causes police to presume.

      I remember a couple of his church audits that sorely need a re-visit. Cursing at him, threatening him, etc.
      But I also remember one that was a SHINING example for all the others! In that situation, a couple attendees checked on him, offered water, help, and even to come in and watch the service. Separately, the pastor/preacher came out and did the exact same. He was one of the "new age" (for lack of a better term) who was dressed very casual, had visible tattoos, etc. However, he was practicing what (I assume) he preaches.

      They encountered Jeff in that area previously. The cop also knows his name and is familiar with his gimmicks. Of course he "then realized".
      We don't have the example of the St. Augustine video a few weeks ago where the female cop identified Jeff before they even made contact. What was I thinking?

      @@mathew8581 The camera never seems to stop their bad behavior no matter how much we think it will. They know their body cams are running & I've seen them steal money, plant drugs & use severe excessive force for no reason so IF ONLY cameras mattered to their behavior we'd be happy buy clearly its no deterrent and many cops also seem to uncharacteristically get irate when a citizen points a camera at them so people must record the thugs to hold them accountable.

    Man, some people just can't mind their business, and have to call the cops about every silly thing. But, the cop was good. He was polite, acted like a human, and came offering help instead of trying to run Jeff off. Didn't demand ID or try to give a bunch of useless directives.

Reminds me of that lady cop in Buffalo NY who stopped another cop from chockinga guy to death..they fired he and since she was 2 years to retire made sure to strip her of her pension too......Took her over ten years in courts to finally get what she was owed back. The blueline gang is dangerous to good police.

    Dispatchers should be trained to ask, is he on the PUBLIC sidewalk or on PRIVATE property ? OK what CRIME is he committing ? None ?, then WHY are you calling ? Is there some EMERGENCY ?

    Some learn lessons, and some egos just won't do it. More deputies like that encounter on the streets, and we are heading back in the right direction. The first thing he asked was if you had been out there long and if you needed water. What i remember growing up. They came by the neighborhood. If they saw a bunch of kids playing, they would stop and give you little things like free slurpees from 7-11 or something. We are long from those days, sad to see most of these encounters today. They took an honorable job and turned it into a circus.

    Heaven forbid the residents would have to cast their eyes upon someone less fortunate than themselves!!!! They're probably going to church every day the doors are open and sitting right up on the front pews. They've just skipped the "love thy neighbor" parts in the Good Book.       Nope. Cop should have gone to whoever made the call and talk to them first. Jeff was just minding his own business and yet has cops come up and start asking him questions. There should have been zero contact. Does the cop walk up to everyone he sees on the street and asks if they are homeless?

    How disturbing that a person can be in public, on public property, and people (lady), calls the police to report a person spreading good news about a very critical subject.

      And it's common to exaggerate the situation.
      He's right in front of our door or he's bothering our customers or creating a disturbance or begging for money.
      They like to exaggerate the situation because they certainly don't see themselves as Liars or that they are the ones creating the disturbance.

    Some people are just horrible,to call the authorities for nothing, why?!!however it was refreshing to see how decent police officers conduct themselves, polite, non aggressive even coming back for the fake id when they realised it was Jeff, congrats to a well trained pd 👍

    Always fresh content, I love it. Misuse of emergency services, also false accusations and possible attempted defamation of character. The PEOPLE need held accountable. Law enforcement is changing and learning, the people need to learn as well.

    Excellent interaction by this officer!!! Great job officer!!! This is what we EXPECT from law enforcement!! As far as the lady that called on you "SHAME, SHAME, SHAME"!! I hope you are never homeless but think you should look into your heart and think about how it would be to be homeless!!

    "we just don't want that here"... and this ladies and gentlemen is why I stopped feeling sorry about taxing the upper class, because when it REALLY comes down to it, they just don't want "your kind" around... so let them pay more until there are no more homeless vets, they receive benefits from the sacrifice of the vets, the least the successful can do is honor the commitment to vets...

    Officer Elias is great!!! No ego and understands his role as a public servant and isn’t like the many who come and try to step on people and their rights. This should be a training video for every officer in the US. Clay County is awesome. I feel hope for the country seeing the improvement.

    I think you described the area incorrectly as an affluent area. They’re less affluent but they are definitely full of effluent (posh word for untreated sewage or BS and I can still smell it from 3,500 miles away in Yorkshire and it’s over 2 months since! That’s some really unpleasant people around that just can’t keep their noses out of other people’s business.

      The low down dirty cop was just following the law. That's his job. Why would you exemplify a lower level intelligence person for doing what he is paid for. He absolutely would rather beat the hell outa Jeff and taken him to the hospital first then Jail. Then lie on any and all reports to the point of even lying under oath in superior court.

    So true about homeless in these smaller towns that have higher end homes. I always wondered why they had fences around some of the older folks subdivisions in Florida. Is it to keep the old folks in or keep everyone else out?
