- Hey Ya'll! Today we are doing some DIY thick loc maintenance with diamond parts using the crochet needle hook. Please enjoy this relaxing aesthetic video of two sisters doing each other's hair (she also re-did my locs on this same day) which is just so beautiful to me. Doing each other's hair is such a way to bond!
Just call me a loctician! haha jk, don't do that! But it's pretty dope to be able to help sis maintain her locs and get her parts looking 🔥 I just used a comb, rat tail comb and regular comb- whatever could give me the cleanest part at the moment and some coconut oil to make the hair nice and smooth and to help maintain its health.
Do ya'll do ya'll's own loc maintenance or do you have a loc lady or guy? I'm still tryna decide if I am going to do my own retwists or not. Ya'll like the clean look or the more free-form look?
Instead of palm roll retwists, Lorielle is going to start doing her loc maintenance with the crochet tool.

Beautiful curious of how often she does this and what size needle she uses
People who have hair that grows outside of the loc may have to do more maintenance and not have to wait to long to retwist. It is best to retwist before the hair breaks away from the loc.

Yes it is!! And is that how you are maintaining yours? She’s still new to it to, getting the hang of it. When I tried on her hair it was not working out lol

Retwists are so satisfying to me 💀 and I’ve actually never seen thick locs get retwisted. Her roots look so thick and healthy. This seems like a fun, but lengthy project

What size is the crochet needle you would suggest for thick locks?
Not supposed to use rubber bands
they didn't stay in, it was to keep the parts organized. Her hair is too thick for typical clips and bigger clips would've just gotten in the way. Let us know if you have any suggestions though!

yes people do call them that nowadays but she started in 2016 and just calls them thick locs
