    So gorgeous!!!I work with mostly Hispanic level 2-4 hair DAILY. Your balayage technique has changed my hair game COMPLETELY! And I’m forever grateful. More than you could know!!!!
    If I could offer some helpful advice, closing BOTH sides of the foils instead of just folding the bottom corner on darker clients will help you so much. It incapsulates the heat better and allows for a much better lift. I also don’t believe in putting clients under the drier for a quicker lift. So instead... I always insure to fold the bottom horizontally then fold the sides vertically. I can guarantee a better lift with that.
    So happy we can always help each other!!!

      She probably isnt confident to do dark asian hair. Possibly intimidated because dark asian hair isnt easy to lighten. (but it can be done obviously) it takes skill and special know-how to work on that hair type. Feel grateful that she told you upfront instead of doing a bad job and taking your money. Just find someone who has experience with ethnic dark hair with evidence in their portfolio. As a stylist i can tell you working on caucasian hair vs. Ethnic hair is different, some stylist are not up for the task.

    • @JamieDana
      @JamieDana  6 лет назад +69

      I totally understand what you are saying, there will always be a little bit of warmth in the transition from dark to blonde pieces even without this conditioner method. But unfortunately, the footage makes those pieces look more brassy than how it looked in real life. If it was that orangey in real life, I wouldn't have let my client walk out and I would have absolutely done a dark toner to counteract the warmth. Thanks for watching my video!

    Thanks so much for this, really helpful. Couple questions: first, why can't you use foils with Blondme? Would it really be so bad? Second, if I want to avoid any brassiness at all but want a dark ash blonde, would I probably have to have my hair bleached lighter than I want it and then go over with a dark ash blonde shade? I REALLY don't want any warmth at all. I have virgin level 5 hair.

    Phenomenal video! 😍 for the 2 toner process, did you do this back to back in the sink? So the first set of toners, let it sit then rinse and then the second set of toners, let it sit and rinse.

    I love watching your videos! I wish I could become a client of yours!! Quarantine made me do some crazy things. I had the most beautiful long blonde balayage that took me about 4 sessions to achieve! My hair was not damaged either since I did invest on going to a professional who specializes in balayage! Mostly because I had been dying my hair black for years is why it took so many sessions. But recently I had an itch to chop my hair just a little bit past my shoulders and dye it to a really dark brown almost black(I did not use box dye just to clarify!). Now I’m regretting it! So I haven’t dyed it anymore and it is beginning to fade to a brown. When the salons open again and it’s safe to go back I’m definitely going back to my girl to start the process over again. I feel like she’s low key going to be mad 😂

    Such a helpful video. When you did the diagonal back sections on the side, did you start teasing those again after you did the hairline pieces?

    Love the conditioner method. So soft, can't wait to try this on my Italian clients! Just hope I don't get red tones (can't afford Redken) But I'm quite good with my Italian brands.

    What would be your thoughts if she wanted this technique but needed a root touch up for gray at the same time. Hard to tease when you have to apply tint there. I've used the tint to mush and blend the line near the scalp. I've also came in with a darker tint to help blur it. Thank you for this great technique. It really will help me! :)
