    I've watched this review like 5 times now. And it really helped me understand the army and tactics a bit more. Just went 5-0 at a local GT here in the PNW!

    I think the best place to start on the wheel is turn 4. Give them the first turn if possible, no heroic action for any extra command points. The. Turn 2 you can get in with flies or orghotts and deny the pile ins

    Really like this idea as a series 🤙🏻 Ive been trying to get locals to run Harby! I think there's a great build their if you toss rustfang on him too so you can actually focus down a sizeable threat or make your opp think twice about trying to pin you in your deployment zone

    I think the main time a 4+ ward on turn 1 is useful is if facing a Stormcast player who has built their list for a turn 1 alpha strike (or an Iron Jaws player who does this)

    Love this idea for a series. I know they're not a proper 3rd edition battle tome yet, but Soulblight Gravelords would be a great one to do since it was written in the context of 2e but with 3e in mind.

    Okay, so having watched this about 10 ten times and I've just gotta follow up on your suggestion of making a whole video dedicated to the Glottkin's Warscroll... pretty please?

  • @Jerm-ct5jf
    @Jerm-ct5jf 2 года назад +1

    Hey great content, excellent overview. Agree with everything except Beasts of Nurgle. BoN are one of the fastest units in our book with run/retreat/charge and are one of the few units that has 2+ damage on the warscroll. For 110 points, I don't feel bad about sacrificing one to negate unleash hell. While I think some players are taking too many, multiple single BoNs force splitting attacks and will be doing multiple d3 MW on the charge, and then again if they get an opportunity to retreat and charge right back in. How is straight MW worse than a few 4+ MW? Combine them with sloppity/wheel no pile in and you have a 110 unit that can completely cripple lots of units that cost 5x more.

    I played against FS after their new tome, and started with 6. It turned out great, since i played first and used my Rot Sorc with Master of Magic and Arcane Tome to cast both of our "artilery" spells, leaving DC on EVERY SINGLE UNIT IN HIS ARMY. Since i started first, I rolled DC twice, garnering 16 mortal wounds across the board, with devastating effect to his heroes.

    Great idea for a series and this first one for Nurgle is super helpful. Thanks for sharing your insights. Great to have this pushing back against some of the videos that seem to encourage list building purely off the back of knee-jerk reactions to new books/scrolls. Hope there'll be more to come

    Really nice video, your presentation was really well organized, i would change the setup (1 slide = 1 idea).
    Regarding the content, i am a Nurgle player for a while and I agree with you on almost everythinhg.
    Not sure about set Morbidex above Orgotts. Orgotts have +1 save auto with his free command points makes him more resilient vs all in damage output
    Include a nurglings unit on your list grant you a cheap deepstrike easily worth it.
    Beasts of Nurgle are okay to include on a list to combine with Bloab/sloppity duo. (maybe one or two unit)
    Epidemius is really strong, no range limitation, you can use his dice even if he's dead, it's just awesome to have up to 7 fate dice on nurgle.
    Regarding the competitive meta, If you're not in 1 drop, just go for hunters on the heartland and fuck the number of drops, you're not so sensitive to be the first player and be double turned.
    Keep going, your game approach is so fresh and nice.

    Super interesting takes. I just picked up Nurgle, only had a few matches with them. Is this list viable against Gargants? Or how would you go about facing off against them? My most common gaming partner runs them lol.

    Love the analysis after some time has passed and some games have been played.
    It's interresting how good the book's internal balance is as after 25-30 games I think you can run a lot of different lists that are all very good, but I basically disagree with almost everything you said as far as what I think is the best/worst parts of the book, units, wheel, etc... (again... most things are very close in power in my opinion). LoL.

    If you were going to pusgoyl spam, would you do the 14 and 2 LoA, or would you do 1 LoA, bloab, epedemus and the rest pusgoyls?

    • @Irongutsman
      @Irongutsman  2 года назад +1

      Probably I would take orghotts as well as LoA. Hes a bit too much of a liability as a general. Does mean you end up being 2 drops, but i think it's better overall.

    I think you’ve overlooked the true value of the Spoilpox Scrivener. He’s better than the Bilepiper due to his Tally of Blows. +1 attacks to a pack of 20 plaguebearers is powerful. Additional attacks are gold dust for us! What do you think?

    New player here with only a few games under my belt, Epidemius really surprised me here but your breakdown really made sense.
    My collection is very mortal based currently, 1 glottkin, 4 blightlords (1 LOA), x2 blightking units, x1 plague bearers, bloab, spoilpox, Festus the leechlord, lord of plagues and a lord of blights.
    Need to get myself some summon units.
    One thing that has confused myself and my other half who plays nighthaunts when we play is the battalions, am I understanding it correctly (P81) of the battletome is that if I have the units that meet the criteria, lets say the first one of having a mortal hero, I get 1 contagion point for every unit it itself slays?
    Many thanks for the video too, explained a lot of thought process/ decision making especially for us newbies, thrown a like.
    Tyty and take care ^^

    • @therustbeltblacksmith
      @therustbeltblacksmith 2 года назад +1

      Those battalions are for Path to Glory games, Path to Glory's rules start on pg 304 of the Big Rule Book (it came in dominion box, Yndrasta is on the cover), it's a narrative way of playing AOS, each new battletome has a section dedicated to this (they've all had a green border, so far), but they are supplements to those rules and that style of play. These rules don't apply to matched play, I not saying you don't know this, I just wanted to make sure we were on the same page.
      I haven't played the new Path to Glory, but I've been looking into it, a friend, in my group and I were talking about giving it a try over the summer (the month before the new GHB drops), this is my understanding of how it works, but I could be mistaken.
      If your Path to Glory roster contains this battalion (this battalion is something you have to take the first time you make a roster or acquire by winning battles there after, to complete a quest that unlocks it), you can include it when list building for your Path to Glory game. It requires a Maggotkin of Nurgle, Mortal, Hero (those are keywords found at the bottom of each warscroll), let's say you have a Lord of Blights (if you start small in Path to Glory, you may only have a hero), the Lord of Blights qualifies for the battalion, he would get the extra rule (Vectors of Contagion). Each time an enemy unit (unit could be 1 model like a hero, or 30 skeletons) is destroyed (the last model in the unit is removed from the table) by an attack made in the combat phase (wounds caused by attacks from the Lord of Blights, removes the last enemy model in the unit) by a unit from this battalion (Lord of Blights) you receive one contagion point. In Path to Glory the units available for list building can grow over time, you may acquire a Rotbringer Sorcerer and/or a Harbinger of Decay, if you took the battalion and had all 3 heroes, in your list, it'd apply to all of them each time the rule was triggered.

  • @jsas6533
    @jsas6533 2 года назад

    I tried Harbringer of Decay last game vs Khorne and I wipped out 3 units just with him. He is very strong for his abilities but I think that there is a good combo to do with Gutrot Spume at the start. If you get 3 extra command points and start first you can drop with Blitkinghs and do some crazy shit and bloc command abilities for your ennemy, when your army is slowly advancing on the battlefield. But is it a strategy to test.
