Adam is a total pro. If only Apple, Google, and 99% of the rest of the programming world was as thorough, detailed, and responsible as he is. His programming is superb, ideas are stellar, and tech support are off the charts. Thank you Adam for being an inspiration to the rest of the world.
Adam, I purchased the app earlier this year and it has been a tremendous help. Is there a setting I have to activate to have the app auto update to the latest version. If not, what is the best way to know when an update has been created? Thanks
iOS settings > App Store > App Updates Also in MixEffect Settings > About MixEffect you can see the latest version and build number. You can then go to the App Store, search for MixEffecf, and tap Update. I think it’s best to join MixEffect Facebook Group or the @MixEffectApp Twitter account. I am usually good at posting when new updates are available.
Adam - can I please ask you a couple of questions relating to your excellent Apple APP which we purchased when you first released, along with an iPad to run it... FYI we already use Companion and a Stream Deck XL - but on an HP Omen Windows10 laptop to run DJF's (David Joshua Ford) ATEM Extreme ISO APP... So we have now purchased another XL to run other APPS including hopefully your 'new' Companion/SDeck rendition... My questions - Initially, I've downloaded and loaded your new Companion preset and so just need your confo. as to whether I can run this from our W10 laptop and it will allow integration with our iPad (via WiFi) ? If we're good-to-go on the above, do you have a companion.config and a streamdeck backup profile file available for this non-too tech-savvy to use as a starting point?
I think the sample Companion configuration files located here will give you a good headstart: mixeffect.app/docs/osc#sample-companion-configuration-files Moving forward, once the native MixEffect Companion module supports all the new functions in MixEffect 1.2.2, you'll find it'll be easier to convert your existing MixEffect actions using the generic OSC module to the native module. When importing the config file, you'll need to point the actions to an instance of MixEffect in Companion. Just point it to your iPad. Also strongly suggest getting that iPad on Ethernet, as it will provide a stronger and more reliable connection to the ATEM than Wi-FI.
@@AdamTow This is not a compliment or criticism - just a fact: minor bugs that you get while recording will inevitably be on the air for others. You've done a tremendous job, I take off my hat and use your app! However, there will be no better, stable solution than the original software capabilities. But Blackmagic is 50% marketing and 50% hardware capabilities, so we all need not expect full-featured devices and advanced software capabilities from them. Imagine the BMD department heads watching similar attempts to rein in the device by animating SuperSource and chuckling softly. In Russian, technicians use the word "crutch", which denotes the ability to use third-party software, but with a very dubious, unpredictable result. For example, Stream Deck in conjunction with Companion periodically issues glitch on buttons and helps restarting. as a result, we have a "crutch", "crutch" and a few more "crutches" that can unpredictably fail during the broadcast.

Thank you for the kind comments!
Been re-watching all your videos, so hopefully that all adds up!
Crazy Cool update! Thanks Adam!
Just added 30 minutes to your "public watch hours" and downloaded the 1.2.2 ready to test...
Thank you! While making these videos, I don't always realize how long I'm speaking for. Appreciate you making it to the end!
Absolutely great!

Блин, классная штука, но по факту вот такой мусор в эфире обеспечен 100%
Maybe the translation is off, but I can’t tell if that’s a compliment or a critique.
