    I was a massage student at the time. Watching on tv a few blocks away. What floored me was during the drumming there was a reverberation from one side off the mountains to the other side of the valley off the other side. Back and fourth. The whole valley was dancing with the heartbeat of the earth. No pharma in my body, it was amazing. Thank you for this.

    I think this was the most beautiful of all the opening ceremonies for the Winter Olympics - just brilliant. It always makes me feel good that our Native American brothers and sisters are continuing their traditions, music and dances.

    My family worked during this entire olympics to help make this one of the most amazing opening ceremonies. I remember only at six meeting the chiefs of each nation before the ceremonies began and being absolutely stunned at the beauty and grace at which they held themselves

    I don't have a lick of Native American in me, but when I hear those drums and hear them sing I just burst into tears. Its got to be the most powerful group of voices I've ever heard.

    This is the America that the world needed to see and l'm so proud that they picked the Winter Olympics to do it. On ice was a brilliant choice showcasing our native animals the way the did with those amazing costumes dancing around the rink and our First People in full costume. Robbie Robertson was so brilliant in orchestrating this.

    l agree, l was so proud of how America showcased their true Americans to the world with these opening ceremonies. Nothing l have seen was ever so beautiful! This piece was perfect, those drums went right through our hearts and the beauty of it went straight into our souls. Tears of happiness everytime l hear it. l have both CD's of Robbie's Native American tributes. l'm happy the world got to see it. No Olympic ceremony has ever done as good as this one did!

    we Navajo always like a nice drum pounding to get a ceremony, ritual,or powwow going. the drum to all Native Americans calls the spirits and when the drum plays the bad ones leave that's why we play them.

    I may not be native American. But I acknowledge them as the original American. I'm proud that they were able to perform at the opening ceremony in salt lake city.

    in Salt lake they had 5 major tribes for Utah in Vancouver there were 4 major tribes for the city alone, thus both seemed to work out to a very similar number kinda interesting

    I read the comments, and saw that someone's relative was drumming on one of the floats. What about one on the dancers? How was it?

  • @Isis2219
    @Isis2219 16 лет назад

    I want to ask, what makes you so traditional?Do you speak your language? Do you carry on the old traditions and dance? do you live off the land? who gives you the right to pass judgement on the people who participated in this? because they're not "traditional" enough? what I will never understand is how being angry solves anything. events like this should be embraced,it brought 5 tribes together at once,it brought the native culture to the world in a postive way. why frown on something positive?
