Vtubers are "characters" but they are able to interact with you as a real person can, stream, talk about their life that they created or just add on the life of the person voicing and moving to the respective character so that it is the characters too. They are a halfway blend of reality and fiction since you can actually interact with them. Kizuna Ai for example has built up a life of her own or the Hololive members who I'm not really into. Of course, I understand you need a suspension of disbelief as with all forms of media, but it is cool how this has become a halfway point. The tech is cool too, but I tend to not think of it or don't realize it due to how convincing she's become.
