I saw this tour in Portland Maine and was already a huge Queensryche fan but was taken to a different place when they did this song. Absolutely blown away…
I saw this when they opened for AC/DC on the Who Made Who tour. They were the most technically proficient band of the era. They were the epitome of what a tight band was. I would love to go back in time to see this show again.
Damn, this gives me chills ... First time I ever saw the band was on this tour, in London, as support for Bon Jovi of all things. I became completely obsessed with Queensryche and with Geoff's voice in particular ... Now, almost 40 years later, I'll be seeing Geoff with his current band in Nuremberg this coming Sunday night :)
Its a good job then you aren't going to get old, isn't it? That way you will still be able to do all the things you do now and still do them well. Geoff might not be able to hit all the notes he did when he was 20, and he even admits he has trouble sometimes but he has always done a bloody good job every time I have heard him. As an older singer, myself, you have your off & on days. His voice is still the dream if you choose to sit and really listen to it........
Just came across this - awesome! Kind of amusing to see them with those guitars though . . . much more 'image' guitars to convey the heavy meatal look than the ESP guitars they used, endorsed, loved and kept for the next 4-5 albums because they worked well for them. I guess part of everyone is all about the image when younger, but I'm glad they had the substance of great musicianship and song writing as well. One of my favorite bands.
saw these guys in Sioux Falls, SD on this tour opening for AC/DC in '86. I didn't appreciate their contribution to the music world then, but looking back.. what a time for this band to shine!
This is incredible, many many thanks from the other corner of the world, Argentina! Been a fan of QR since the beginning, and this is the holy grail for me... Tate and the whole QR at his peek! Gracias amigo!
Cyberpunk was starting to become a thing in the Pacific Northwest and Queensryche seemed to capture the feel of it in Rage for Order. Miss the '80s so much!
Nah because I saw Motley and Waysted open for him in Feb.84 and Accept open for him in May of that same year. As where all of those bands kicked ass none of them blew him off stage..
Ozzy is not about vocal virtuosity. He kicks ass for the way he interacts with his fans and he always has first class talent behind him… but Geoff has a special place in my heart… long story but I met him and he’s a great guy!
When I see this comment my response is: "Hear in the Now Frontier", totally composed by DeGarmo, and a total failure as a QR album. I am not knocking Chris, people's taste as goals change after all, but I think the band's career as actual METAL musicians was over after Empire. Quite a shame, I still listen to EP, The Warning, RFO, OM, but rarely listen to anything produced after that.
@@goofayoo thanks, but the word Regel sounds like what? I'm from Brazil. this words are in German, I think.... in German sounds like Nóia Regl. Can you help me with this please.
@@joaobabler1584 No problem. He pronounces it Ree-gal. Just find another vid of this song that's not live and listen to how he says it. You'll hear it. \m/
Lonnnggg time Quensryche fan here, but the hair is embarrassing I must say. I'm sure those guys would agree. In Geoffs case, he probably say, it's better than no hair.
*Re-uploaded after 4 years:* I've adjusted the video levels, de-noised the video and EQ'd the audio as well to remove noise. Enjoy!
Awesome job as Always!! Thank You!!
Did you record this yourself at the show?
@@marcofdelos - I wasn't even born yet!
Fantastic.
REAL BRO #TATEDEGARMO ❤❤❤
Being a teenager in the 80's was fun as hell. A big part of that enjoyment was the music.
I saw this tour in Portland Maine and was already a huge Queensryche fan but was taken to a different place when they did this song. Absolutely blown away…
I hope people recognize he was brilliant in concert as he was in the studio
Geoff hits the notes exactly how they are on the album - or even better. Freaking amazing.
One of the greatest singers in metal history at the absolute height of his powers.
If you can hear it!!!!!! I'm being a smartass. Why can't people HEAR IT😟😟🤔🤔 I think most people are truly tone deaf. Just my opinion

Song still gives me goosebumps 30 years later 🤘😍🤘
Scott's drumming on this album was on another level.
That final note he hits in this song sends chills down my spine! One of the best singers of all time!
I give the person that caught this on tape all the horns and halos in the world!
Rage For Order is such a great album and they're KILLING this live!!!!
The greatest song ever written.
Yes, my friend, well said!! The Pinnacle of Progressive Metal!!!
Masterpiece, great backing vocals, and Geoff on guitar 😊👍
The vocal range on Geoff Tate was insane!!
Was....
Just saw him in Dallas on the 15th. Still sounds great to me. He's in his 60's now and is still doing it!
@@garybusy6102Father Time is a bad motor scooter, and he gets us all, but in his day Tate was a monster.🤘🏻
I saw them on this tour in NYC. When I first heard this song on the record, I never thought they could pull it off live. I was dead wrong.
Not only that, it seems like a very unusual choice to open the show with but it works perfectly.

Probably my favorite QR song. I know Geoff had the pipes back then, but it is still amazing to see him pull this off live.
I have seen GT in various forms live dozens of times for over 30 years, never saw him put on a guitar until here.
He played some chords during the solos of "Neue Regel" and "Walk In The Shadows" in most of the shows during this era.
Wilton and DeGarmo... chills! Thank you for this video! Great memories
Damn godlike voice... "...now it's not a dream ANYMORE..."

The 80s spoiled us. Proof.
My GF watches "The Voice" I typically can't stand it...but my dream is to see someone on there sing this song, nail it, and blow peoples' minds.
Just absolutely brilliant .
I turned 16 that day... What a great year to be a teenager!
Excellent version of the song. Geoff nails it.
I think the first two months of the Rage Tour might be Geoff's best stretch of shows.
And I had the privilege of seeing them twice during that span :-)! It was freaking incredible ..
That voice!!!🤙😎🤘
Saw this tour Salinas, CA Sherwood Hall 1986 awesome

Geoff feeling uncomfortable with the guitar strap. Priceless. Great video! Thanks for sharing
hi friend you've impressed everyone, good work with voice and drums. super queensryche.
greetings from tenerife.
I was there. They were great
Masterpiece!
The good old days I was 2nd row here

'Bout as good as it got....👍👍👍
Thanks!
Wishing Tate could still sing like this.
Sucks gettin' old!
He's pretty damn good now, check him out.
PLEASE put me in a a time machine so I can be there
Happiness!!!
I am so surprised, first time i see him play the guitar here.
Oh hell yea!!!....🤙😎🤘
The only voice of Queensryche.the only voice like no other!!!
Every opening act Ozzy ever had blew him off stage. It's strange and sad.
Nah because I saw Motley and Waysted open for him in Feb.84 and Accept open for him in May of that same year. As where all of those bands kicked ass none of them blew him off stage..
Odd you say that because I saw Crue blow him off the stage on 1984. Shout at the Devil/Bark at the Moon.
I would not go that far Motley Crue didnt put on a better show then Ozzy on Bark at the moon but Queensryche yeah you got me there .
Absolutely I saw Ozzy in 86 and Metallica was insane the only time I saw Cliff no contest
Ozzy is not about vocal virtuosity. He kicks ass for the way he interacts with his fans and he always has first class talent behind him… but Geoff has a special place in my heart… long story but I met him and he’s a great guy!
The Rage era was when Tate was in his finest voice. Absolutely flawless
I wish they used the intro at the start on the album.....
🤘
When Ozzy realized I have to top that.
Anybody know why there's no live tracks from this tour available on download or CD?
I wasn't thrill with the look on the album cover, but that style looks good live in concert.
Wasn't too long after this when DeGarmo left the band and would NEVER be Queensryche as we knew them EVER again!!!😢
Well, that was 12 years later.

Never saw him with a guitar..he never needed it
Such a complicated song
Geoff Tate can play guitar?
yes.
not really, he doesn't even play a chord if you look closely
He played keyboards live for Best I Can, and he played sax in Promised Land live too. That was an amazingly cool production.
He played some chords in Michigan 1986 during the solo of "Walk In The Shadows"
Better singer than Mercury.
Better than anyone)
Not even close, tate was godlike vocally at this time
Can't go that far, but, yeah, Geoff Tate is up there.
I'm not going to school through all the comments, but where was the show?
Read the title
how am I supposed to pronounce the name of this song?
Just as he does in the song. Neue sounds like New.
