      Ana Luiza Brown great if not amazing album but no album tops OM...and i mean ever....OM is the best album of all time and i think the warning is slightly better than rfo its more consistent

      RFO is their best to me! OM is incredible but RFO was so ahead of its time, its untouchable imo. Both RFO and OM are more relevant today than they were when released and that says something.

      @@Daddy53751 I will agree "The Warning "is there best album along with RFO and OM being a close second and third! Then Empire and PL being the last 2 great albums imo.

  • @68nevets68
    @68nevets68 9 лет назад +54

    Short lived prime? What's your definition of short? As far as I can remember, he was the "untouchable shit" from the QR EP all the way through Mindcrime and even the Empire through Tribe releases had great vox even though he couldn't hit the highs quite like he once did.
    Don't know of many singers who put the kind of miles he did on his chords that could still maintain the range he had. Compared to Tate, La Torre is a virgin to that kind of vocal abuse (late to the game) and when he can scream into a mic for as many recordings and fans for as many years as Tate did, then I'll like to see what a classical untrained singer like him will sound like at the end of his road.
    On a side note: I like Todd La Torre, (liked Midnight more) and a lot of the replacements signers out there (Ripper Owens, Arnel Pineda) but just like all the EVH clones who can probably play Eruption better than Eddie can, did they create it and can they create anything even as close or groundbreaking, even if given a vehicle like an established, famous band to front? Doubt it and haven't seen it yet. Must be nice to step in after all the hard work has been done and try to stake a claim on the backs of others.

      +melissasrage Why am i dumb fuck? Because I stated something in my opinion about GT vocals during a specific timeline lol.. I'm sorry let me rephrase then..He was at his best range wise until 1987..Then from Mindcrime down to PL he gradually he became not untouchable..Is that better for you my goodness..And lets be truly honest here..PL was QR last great album from a-z period..Again my opinion..No need for the name calling btw ;-)

    I remember back when Tate's name was added to the short list of the most revered epic metal vocalists right alongside with Dickinson, Halford & Dio. Godlike status...

    • @christophercecil1564
      @christophercecil1564 3 года назад

      i believe Dio and Tate had the U K beat on this one , vocals of course, seen them all multiple times , from mob rules to lock up the wolves, ep tour at the country club through mindcrime , always at smaller venues LA scene, remember the roxy and killers tour with dianno, missed number of the beast , peace of mind, again the smaller venues are always more personal, priest us festival , then again turbo lover , but have to say overall! but when live, the jist of command, performance, the onstage charisma, Dio and Tate have them beat, for sure the 1,2,3,4, I can do these all fuckin over again,but Queensryche, like an all star band , have to rank them right up there with VH, and Aerosmith as few of the states best, not leaving out Tool and Metallica, Long Live Rock and Roll,wholl cry for the children, I do! sometime in the night , when your feeling the cold, take a look at the sky above you , those are faces in the night , if their story were told, theyd be calling you, calling you. we are magic, we are light, we are forever you and I, yeah were stars .sums it up...R I P

      Tate has more control and agility than all of them. If queensryche was somehow more popular than Iron Maiden, then tate would be considered the best metal vocalist of all time instead of Dickinson or halford.

  • @traceyrychewhite6374
    @traceyrychewhite6374 7 лет назад +17

    Short lived? He's been touring his ass off for years his voice remained the best. Its only been since probably about 2008 that he started having trouble with the souring high notes. I'd like to see anyone with a 4 octave vocal range, tour like Queensryche and strain their voice as much as he has and still even want to continue to tour. Geoff Tate is legend! He will always be my favorite vocalist of times past. Let's just continue to be grateful for the amazing music that we have to enjoy. I think his losing his voice has a lot to do with the Insainia wine and drinking on stage. He should get a vocal coach and stop drinking before and during shows. I wish him all the best. God bless him and his family. 💝

    • @Crackhitler68
      @Crackhitler68  7 лет назад +4

      Let me rephrase then.. He was at his peak on this tour, then gradually after the PL tour his vocal high notes with any sustained power were long gone. No disrespect to the man he still one of my favorite all time vocalists and was the king of all from 1982-1987 no one was better imo..

He carried the band on his shoulders for decade's and never should of been kicked out. Geoff Tate's legendary voice, song writing, and lyrical genius is what made Queensryche a band, without him they never would of been signed.

    I love the prime years and would *always* love and respect, but the future of this band has gold as well, the Promised Land tour made you feel the fucking music. When he and the rest of the band gave their mind, body and soul to it. Look at the Screaming In Digital performance in 95 with the vampiric projection. Absolute soul with Screaming In Digital. Jeff's prime was from the EP - rage for order. I love Mindcrime and Empire but slowly Geoff wasn't able to belt it out on the Mindcrime album and even less on Empire. Nontheless he's my all time favorite and his lyrics are second to none. They have intelligence and depth. I still see him every time he's back in town and never been disappointed. Geoff is the man and his influence on rock n roll as a whole is simply enormous.
