And that is something true journalistic reporter should be asking these Republicans who attempt go off on their pathetic tirades about the border for the sole purpose of misinformed and inciting their base. The the reporter should firmly but respectfully shut them down and ask that question. If the answer is anything but a yes, the reporter reply needs to be something to the affect of "if you voted no, you have absolutely zero right to complain about the border, no further discussion." Sadly they won't, as corporate media cares too much about ratings to behave like true professional journalists. Thus no critically needed follow-up questions or true pushback to lies and misinformation.

He already said at this point he doesn't want to be President. He is more powerful and more useful in Congress which is the stronger body when it comes to running the country. The President is more of a figurehead that signs bills Congress passes, gives ideas of policy for Congress to work on and deals with international relations, Congress deals more with running the United States.

I think there should be a law that if you want to be in congress you should pass the citizenship tests that all immigrants have to take in order to obtain citizenship to the US. For god sake they should at least know the damn constitution and more than just the 2nd and 5th Amendment.

I remember hearing about Amy not knowing the five freedoms guaranteed in the First Amendment during her confirmation hearings.anyone who doesn't have a legal background or running for a position in any of our three branches of government, is allowed a pass on that. But a supreme court Justice who doesn't know the constitution thoroughly, is beyond disgraceful, and she should never been confirmed for that reason alone. Beyond the fact she was ramrodded through by the disgusting hypocritical Mitch McConnell during the last months of the 2020 election season. gerrymandering voting districts is the the major form of influence for a political party. seriously, the republicans put forth an extremely conservative bill for immigration and yet, republicans voted against it. that is hypocrisy. according to voting laws, these individuals may NOT vote: "1) Non-citizens, including permanent legal residents, cannot vote in federal, state, and most local elections. 2) Some people cannot vote after being convicted of a felony or if they are currently serving time for other types of crimes. Rules are different in each state. Check this guide from the Department of Justice to understand the laws in your state. 3) Some people who have a mental disability may not be able to vote. Learn about your voting rights. Rules vary by state. 4) U.S. citizens residing in U.S. territories cannot vote for president in the general election". NON-CITIZENS CANNOT VOTE! this gaslighting by republicans is incredulous.

I came to the US 45 years ago, for many years i didn’t vote bc I wasn’t a citizen I only had the green card. I worked and paid taxes. They took my money but I had no rights to vote. That is taxation with no representation.

The census impacts more than congressional voting districts. Federal dollars for schools, roads, bridges, libraries, fire stations and police are all affected. The census counts PEOPLE. Every human needs to be counted.
My daughter lives in Florida and ever since DeSantis has been on his anti migrant tantrum, the state of Florida’s economy, construction projects, and agricultural production has been gradually grinding down to its lowest levels in its history and is projected to be paralyzed within the next couple of years.
These anti immigrant politicians are either not intelligent enough to understand the incredible value and benefit our nation gains from the migrant community or they know it but they’re more interested to create an atmosphere of fear and resentment against those who just simply want a better life and willing to work and contribute their part to making our nation a more perfect union.

Automatic registration should happen, whenever a citizen receives a drivers license, food-stamps or checks out a library book.

The constitution calls for all persons be counted, just because there counted dosent mean that they can vote but they have to be counted.
The electoral college counts black people as 3/5 of a citizen based on slavery at the time of its writing. The census was written to count everyone living in the country, not just citizens. That’s the law.

If the President and VP were elected simply on votes counted, Gore and Clinton would have been president instead of the losers, Bush snd Trump. If Gore had been elected, there would be no 9-11 tragedy; if Clinton had been elected, more than 1 million US citizens wouldn’t have died from Covid. If Gore and Clinton were inaugurated (they both won), the US would be mostly on renewable power, non-whites would still be able to vote, women would get adequate health care, veterans would be provided for and honored, rich people and corporations would actually pay taxes. There are big consequences in having the wrong government. And the TeaPartyGOP is always the wrong choice.

I held a green card. Couldn't vote but was part of the census, since I paid taxes.
The census does a whole lot more than just determine electoral districts. It also determines the allocation of federal funds for all kinds of programs. Once again the GOP does not see the forest for the tree or the unforeseen consequences of their actions. By not allowing non citizens to participate locales with a high non citizen population will be severely underserved on its federal programs allocations. Not all non citizens are illegals as Mr. Raskin pointed out.
Oh they know. They don’t want their base to know. And they want to defund everything, including funding that will benefit people who are different than they are.

Proof of the attention paid by the Constitution to the number of persons, as opposed to the number of voters, in a census is that slave were counted as 3/5 of a person.
Slaves had no rights as citizens. They were chattels, but they were counted.
