However, if it was futuristic….. they could focus on the vertical aspect of city navigation, something grand and fine tuned, with a very distinct, almost tactical/vigilante like atmosphere. A verticality that could be a character in its own way, using tools and skills to traverse and maybe even a grappling hook (i mean they used them in Victorian era London on their WRISTS!) but with multiple functions and not entirely to take away from the parkour. With the futuristic setting (not like super advanced and far into the future but like 20-30 years from now) they could add technology, better weapons, have a good combat system when the need arises (certain parts stealth, certain parts close quarters melee combat, and certain parts run and gun) like the Arkham games mixed with Ghost Recon. Im absolutely jealous. AC Valhalla takes place in my favorite time period and yet I can't play it due to this weird feature level issue for GPUs. I have the game sitting in my library, forever alone.
@@mrartdeco vikings didn't build fortresses, they made wooden encampments, mostly because they were always on the move, always sailing. We found some of viking settlements and not many big buildings were made out of stone. Egypt was well developed and already heavily influenced by Greeks and Romans in the time of Bayek. There were many tall stone structures he could climb.
I'm currently playing ACU now I admit the game is half-baked, got a lot of bugs, movement is a bit clunky (but maybe that's just me) but the parkour makes up for it. ACU has the best parkour animation in the whole series don't know why the devs stopped making those cool parkour animations. Parkour is non-existent in Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla.
Ok i legit played all of the assassin's Creed unity on my shitty PC plus the dlc and i have never experienced a big bug. Biggest ones were body has fallen weird and not it's kinda twitchy but nothing that you could call the game half baked
To be fair the concept of parkour didn't existe in Odyssey, Valhalla or origins timeline. Specially since they were not assassins, yes origins mc wasn't an assassin, he was a founder of the hidden ones, those are the ancestors of the assassin's not the assassin's themselves. So honestly that kind of movement would only make sense if the assassin's introduced it as a part of the training since the roots of parkour are actually military obstacle course and Chinese martial arts. I don't hate the new games, i actually quite enjoy Odyssey, probably my favorite ac game, it's a close one between black flag and odyssey, don't know Wich to choose.
Unity is the best AC game, It also has the BEST graphics, combat, attention to detail, character costumization, amount of different weapons and pretty much everything else
Wow, a city in AC Valhalla! Why couldn't there be more than one? I like exploring wilderness and small villages but doesn't feel like an AC game without a large city to parkour through.
@@UGLYBOYwrld it's always about the graphics in this generation. Nobody cares about the story, character development, gameplay and relevance anymore. Every single goddamn new release games are buggy and generic.
Watching clips of this game, I thought the parkour was going in the right direction again, with new animations. That is, until I tried to play it myself. It's the worst thing ever. In the whole damn series.
Funny enough, the director of the game promised that the parkour would be closer to Unity's than Odyssey's, and what to do we get? Not just Odyssey's parkour but slower and clunkier, but also barely any chances to do any parkour at all.
I remember people saying how awful the cloak physics looked in early gameplay and people jumping to the games defence saying it was pre alpha and they would fix it etc and SHOCK they never did
origins and odyssey had spectacular enviroments! while valhalla managed to some extent to convey the feeling that we are in a post apocalyptic world and that the ancient romans felt like aliens compared to the people of the early middle ages, it never came near the emotion i felt exploring a temple sunken in the deserts of egypt in Origins, or a minoan temple in Odyssey. Valhalla felt like a rushed game with forgetable enviroments and encounters.
weight on rope physics have been around since at least super mario sunshine. they couldn’t make the clotheslines react to his weight even just a little bit? the game is beautiful but it lacks polish.
How do you make a game that looks this visually stunning, yet feels so dead atmospherically? The physics seem sloppy and outdated too. I dont mean to hate, I love the AC series, but Ubisoft needs to take notes from the likes of Rockstar after RDR2. The bar has been set, get with the times if you want to compete in the market!
Red dead redemption 2 is one of the most dated games gameplay wise. If you havent played any other game other than RDR 3, I can see why you would think its good. RDR 2 like other Rockstar games is frustatingly linear. Atleast Ubi games give you a ton of freedom on how to achieve your objective
Ilove your channel guys(; Iwould love to see some old ac content from you Inoticed parkour is not that bad in valhalla we still have side eject paths in the way! And you can be creative with them
ehh no its not, Odyssey map is so repetitive, there is barely any landmarks to remember except the Zeus statue and few others maybe. So many copy paste building and slight different textures and colors (trees for eg) Its a huge map that's just it
I know that unity was good but it seems people are forgetting that unity lunched with cyberpunk lvl of bugs, it was horrible in the beginning, even for a Ubisoft game it was kinda disappointing. This parkour looks better than most ac parkour except for unity and maybe ac 3. You guys do have a point about the people in the city, but it's funny because I remember when i played the game there were a lot of people in the big cities. Alit more lively. This looks kinda strange.
Graphic fantastic, animations good, world physics are not realistic or absent...seems all is stick together...no objects are moving or rolling around, just flags are moving. As a developer I understand that any physic object moving will create problems to player collisions but some fake objects moving could be added to make it a more physic impact between player and objects he climbs or hit with his body.
Paris is nice and all but I am really not satisfied by the parkour of these new AC games, they are a major downgrade from Unity and Syndicate, plus the majority of the cities in the game are rural villages which contains nothing but ugly, short buildings that are not available for doing cool parkour on. 1 more AC game with shitty parkour like the last 3 installments and I am quitting. Parkour is what makes Assassin's Creed games feel like Assassin's Creed, not RPG and mythical enemies. Get it together!
You have to understand this is the 9th century though. There was not nearly as much verticality & densely populated areas as there are post-Renaissance era. You’re not going to go to Medieval England & France, then get 15th century Italy or 18th century Americas out of it. I’m glad there’s verticality at all, with the inclusion of Lunden, Winchester, & Paris. They have to walk a fine line between historical accuracy here. And I give them kudos for keeping it true to how it was. Now, that said...if only they could’ve been historically accurate with the romances & gender things going on. Because those are WAY off from reality.

Altair and Ezio would kill him if they see his bad form
I mean he lived way before them so it kinda makes sense. I mean Arno would kill Ezio and Altair if he saw their movement by that logic.
@@nenadmilovanovic5271 what are you saying that has no sense, cause they live before they have less speed, agility, dexterity?
@@ulissesbueno their freerunning technique is more primitive. Parkour requires skill and techniques, not just agility.
@@nenadmilovanovic5271 make sense.. but even Bayek move better than him (maybe because there is no tall building in the dark ages of vikings)
[DEVS]: How many objects do you want the character to simply go through.
[UBISOFT]: Yes.
In odyssey each island that u reach has a unique building and environment , but in valhalla , every major city feels copy pasted
@@nikolaorsmth i think its ur pc problem my ps4 pro is alright just some bugs when alot of people walk
I don't hate the new games, i actually quite enjoy Odyssey, probably my favorite ac game, it's a close one between black flag and odyssey, don't know Wich to choose.
the one thing that's always stayed up to par throughout AC games, the atmosphere, buildings & environment.
Finally a city where u can parkour after 3 games
Unity had so many good parcour animations. Now it feels like they dont even care about that.
Imagine ezio and arno watching this
Best outfit in the whole game
How do you get it? Can’t find it anywhere

If only they had put as much effort in the story it would feel like old AC.
Story is great imo, one of their best ones
If this game was named middle earth or witcher or something else other than Assassin's Creed, I'd literally play it.
No you wouldn’t you would conplain saying this game is like assassins creed and say that they should have called it assassins creed
Unity is the best AC game, It also has the BEST graphics, combat, attention to detail, character costumization, amount of different weapons and pretty much everything else
I agree but the combat and stealth have some flaws, for example you can’t whistle to attract enemies or use guards as human shields
only thing trash about unity is the story lmao

If Watch Dogs 2 had wall scaling as a game feature, it would wash all of the Assassin Creed games in the traversal department.
I hope they upgraded the parkour a good amount in mirage
2:27 i remember this place on ac unity
I remember people saying how awful the cloak physics looked in early gameplay and people jumping to the games defence saying it was pre alpha and they would fix it etc and SHOCK they never did
its sad that you can't do parkour on a assassin's creed game anymore
I just love Valhalla and can't wait to get it, i wont be complaining about anything
origins and odyssey had spectacular enviroments! while valhalla managed to some extent to convey the feeling that we are in a post apocalyptic world and that the ancient romans felt like aliens compared to the people of the early middle ages, it never came near the emotion i felt exploring a temple sunken in the deserts of egypt in Origins, or a minoan temple in Odyssey. Valhalla felt like a rushed game with forgetable enviroments and encounters.
weight on rope physics have been around since at least super mario sunshine. they couldn’t make the clotheslines react to his weight even just a little bit? the game is beautiful but it lacks polish.
I want back Unity's parkour system!!!!! :(
WoW, this is awesome :)
@@brucew565 Absolutely right
@@brucew565 the amount of details in RDR2 can kick any AC games ass.

Definitely a huge step up from the parkour exploration in Odyssey. Though, any AC game has better parkour than that game.

As a developer I understand that any physic object moving will create problems to player collisions but some fake objects moving could be added to make it a more physic impact between player and objects he climbs or hit with his body.
imagine this graphics and lighting with actual good parkour
I hate all Ac games after 3, but this one looks visually amazing
did u forgot black flag
please anyone tell me, does cloth/cape in this AC era was hard as carpet?
The next game is full live service one bro😭😭. No more single player ac games
@@proyashnarayanchoudhury2567 yeah I saw that... Tecent, mobile game, free to play. All the red flags...
You know I was actually excited when I saw it is set in China but fuck me, all the red flags just put me off

FINALLY SOMEONE MAKING TRUE PARKOUR IN VALHALLA!! THANKS A LOT FOR THIS!
Thank you for watching mate :)
0:07 The birds🤣
Most sounds are taken from ac 4 it feels...ex entering restricted area, diving from heights, watersplash etc...
No matter how much better the graphics get, it still feels less realistic in comparison to the earlier games.
I really dislike recent AC games because the worlds are just so flat. This finally brings back a bit of nostalgia.
This is what mirage parkour looks 1000% like , we were lied to 😭😂
This gave me Ac Unity vibes lol
Steps: Unity/Syndicates
Sound effect here and there: AC1
Ziplines and stuff: Revelations
Damn they really connected those in 1
I avoided Valhalla for a long time although I loved Odyssey I didn't want to buy a copy and paste at full price. I ended up getting it about 5 months ago in a sale and Today I bought the season pass!!!! I really love this game so much better than I thought
Problem is, his body movements do not justify his momentum
Kinda feels like AC Revelations 😍❤️
The guy that wrote the revelations story is the same guy that did the story for this p e.

@@MrJumbo-zx1jt I gotta say, finally someone who compliments this game, thank you, all this parkour thing is getting pretty annoying. This IS still a great game, and we can't just judge it badly just because everyone is doing it and because it is not like the old ones.

what im more astounded by is that Ubisoft still manages to reuse animation from AC3
I would expect to move the ropes at least a little bit when you jump on them. This static behavior is weird.
