Brotherhood was a downgrade from two. All it added was the lifts and horse flip thing. Rome wasn’t as well designed for parkour as Venice and Florence where. Revelations was definitely a step up with the hook blade. Ac3 had smoother animations and tree running but less player control. Ac4 had better world design and faster animations. AcRogue had no improvements. Ac Unity was the biggest step up with a dedicated free run down and more animations while still having player control. It had a learning curve to it and it’s very easy to differentiate a master from a noob. Syndicate downgraded the parkour adding a grapple hook and taking away the ability to jump off anywhere you wanted. Also the world wasn’t very well designed for parkour.
I think Brotherhood, Revelations and Unity had the best parkour in the series. I don’t understand the hate that Unity received for parkour, well, it’s very beautiful, comfortable and fun...

Out of all these games that are really good (except rogue and odessey in my opinion) I think ac origins had the most fluid and more diverse roots and methods of parkour and is pretty fast too, the area looks clean as well and when Bayek is seen to do these moves in this area it really feels so clean and cool. In my opinion..
It's as if modern game developers does not want to give players full control over their characters movements on purpose. That's why AC 1 is the best because the physics were very realistic mechanics made every jump, climb, a thoughtful process. Just play spiderman 2 on ps2 compared to every game after and you know what I mean. Devs take away control of the character for the players. It's there conscious and deliberate decision to do. I don't know why but I know for sure that's what they do. Perhaps they don't want the players to fall in love with a particular game mechanics and play religiously or longer than they want us to. Otherwise why wouldn't they just improve and refine AC1 parkour which had amazing control mechanics or the most real swing mechanics in spiderman 2 ps2 and just downgrade their best efforts?? Think about it. This is all my honest analysis and personal experience/opinion.

Amazing video, but what is the best parkour of the series in YOUR opnion? I'd love to know the answer from such a parkour master. Imo Ac 2/brotherhood seems to feel the best even tho Unity has some really cool animations
Assassin’s Creed Unity’s parkour is great to watch, has cool animations. However, it can still feel clunky at times, and occasionally, it fails to register player inputs. Assassin’s Creed III to Assassin’s Creed Rogue offered a tons of cool vaulting animations and introduced amazing tree parkour, along with retaining all the basic parkour moves from previous games. Assassin’s Creed II to Assassin’s Creed Revelations stand out to me as the most enjoyable, mainly due to their perfect level design. These games provided players with a remarkable sense of freedom and control.
Nothing beats Unity's fluidity and realism in terms of movements & body reactions to inputs, looked so much natural than the scripted crap we got lately 😬. I was truly hoping mirage would just copy paste that system since they said "Basim is the fastest assassin" but I guess not 😂
you know unity is very scripted right? it’s all animation based, not momentum, so it actually has way less player input and control than ac1 to revelations parkour
parkour on valhalla seems average to me but the storyline was amazing i enjoyed every chapter, mystery, problem solving all quite challenging (solve problem w/out watching ytube)🤩🤩
Unity hands down!!! The older ones and Valhalla are pretty good as well. The thing with Valhalla and the newer roleplay oriented ones (minus Mirage) is that their themes don't really fit with the level of parkour we are used to in the previous assassins creed games and so their environments are limited in order to be somewhat historically accurate. Also previous ideas like the grappling hook in Revelations were a good way to spice up the gameplay and make it more interesting in theory but in practice only deprived us from more organic and realistic climbing motions and sequences (even though the point isn't to be realistic).
Hey, I have a problem, my mom is going to buy me an Assassin's Creed for my birthday but I can't decide between the three or the unity, which is better for a casual player???

i parkour in real life and i say unity has best parkour system even when arno can jump distances that no normal freerunner would not jump but its still nice to see variations in animations in unity
The old AC games when they jumped felt like gravity was working properly whereas in the RPG they jump up high for a second and then like a loony tunes cartoon come right down.
Every iteration since the first AC brings something new to the table.. AC II brings in the light swing, Brotherhood brings in the elevator, Revelations brings in the hook and rope slide, aC III brings in terrain such as trees & cliff, AC IV improved on the terrain movement and brings in the building escape movement, AC Rogue gives flagpole swing & elevator parkour changes by making it a two way system now, Ac Unity brings in possible building traverse and improved a lot of the parkour, AC Syndicate with the Grappling Hook & a few fixes that makes Unity buggy.. Heck even Origins bring something new with the back flip into the haystacks / leaves.. And then there's Odyssey & Valhalla, even their world doesn't support parkour that much.. the movement is as slow or slower than Origins as well..
@@JFVideos960 true.. but, then again, they still added some new stuff that got implemented on later games as well.. 4 was the time where we can sprint in buildings.. That got further improved on unity & syndicate.. Tho yeah, AC 3 terrain climbing was great.. such a shame the setting for the city after black flag is a rural townscape.. no terrain climbing.. It is back in origins again, but damn it became much worse..
Actually, AC3 was the first game in the series to feature building interior sequences of traversal. I believe ACIV, Unity and Syndicate had versions of it too :)
i understand why people ac unity parkour as ive only started to replay the game and tbh i don't want it due to the fact that actually parkouring in unity felt inaccurate. Going around or up and right/left felt sometimes clunky as arno decided to either stop and not move or was unable to move around. I hope mirage's parkour will be faster than valhalla and more responsive and accurate but not flashy and unrealistic like Ac unity. For people who disagree just stop criticising the game when it hasn't released yet nor has it had a full gameplay trailer showing day 1 parkour and its polished state.
I wish they would make the future AC games parkour more like unity , also add more real elements like falling or crash landing and not so perfect unrealistic animations. I rather be parkouring fast and be struggling falling and tripping slightly to add more realism
YeIn my opinion, Unity's graphics are better than all of them, although 10 years have passed, the high-end parkour system is still not bad, I wish Ubisoft continued the character-based story instead of releasing a different game, I think the novelty of Arno victor doria's right, I think it could be made 3 lumes like Ezio
@@Dian_Borisov_SW in my personal opinion, if they gave unity 3-5 more years in the oven it would've been a masterpiece, well, for me it still peak assassin's creed once you overlook the flaws

Now, with 3-5 years more (which is unrealistic due to Ubisoft's greedy ass that wants to milk AC to oblivion) you can definitely fix the issues people had with the story and parkour mechanics
Call me crazy but I actually like how heavy and weighty Valhalla feels we never got that in AC parkour and I feel like I do better than faster paced systems
I see unity getting at lot of love here, which I don't get. Every bit of it looks like it just snaps the player somewhere closeby. Fluid movement is gone and the runner has no weight anymore.
They could've made the best parkour system if they use the unity parkour with syndicate floatiness when jumping (syndicate have the most natural jump and also smooth flow) even tho the game is😬 The recent ones is heavy and lack smoothness and flow
I wish they kept the hookblade from revelations and the overall animations from unity as well as some objects from AC 4 and earlier games,it makes me really sad If I think about never seeing this parkour animations from Unity again

And then there's Odyssey & Valhalla, even their world doesn't support parkour that much.. the movement is as slow or slower than Origins as well..
aye bro you mean hook right? right?👁️👃🏻👁️
@@tommywright2487 yeah mb lol
Actually AC4 kinda downgraded on the terrain compared to 3, since you couldn’t climb natural rocks and the tree parkour was clunky compared to 3
@@JFVideos960 true.. but, then again, they still added some new stuff that got implemented on later games as well..
I believe ACIV, Unity and Syndicate had versions of it too :)
yal ever seen a game you ahvent seen in awhile nd start cheesing, bro when this vid first started mann
origins onwards: it’s evolving, just backwards
Not being able to wear the hood that’s attached to your collar in assassins creed syndicate was always the dumbest thing to me
i understand why people ac unity parkour as ive only started to replay the game and tbh i don't want it due to the fact that actually parkouring in unity felt inaccurate. Going around or up and right/left felt sometimes clunky as arno decided to either stop and not move or was unable to move around. I hope mirage's parkour will be faster than valhalla and more responsive and accurate but not flashy and unrealistic like Ac unity. For people who disagree just stop criticising the game when it hasn't released yet nor has it had a full gameplay trailer showing day 1 parkour and its polished state.
unity is on top tho you cant lie
After AC3:
"It's evolving, just backwards"
The early AC games already had a solid parkour mechanics, if only they could polish Unity's parkour mechanics it would definitely be top tier
Lo que me gustó después de las formas de pelear en Assassins's Creed y sus historias es el parkour, y eso me dio la motivación de querer aprenderlo 👍🙏
As a student of BA History, I love this series 😂
Imagine being Ubisoft dev responsible for AC parkour system and actually claiming that Unity and Syndicate parkour were worse than what we have now
Hey, what reshade did you use for AC Unity, if it’s not reshade did you use nvidia filters etc?
It sucks that Unity flopped at launch due to glitches. Underrated
Unit was the best, I always liked AC 3’s too!
I wish they would make the future AC games parkour more like unity , also add more real elements like falling or crash landing and not so perfect unrealistic animations. I rather be parkouring fast and be struggling falling and tripping slightly to add more realism
because they always forget about assassins creed bloodlines, altair chronicles and assassins creed II discovery
All they had to do was not to release Unity half baked
@@Dian_Borisov_SW in my personal opinion, if they gave unity 3-5 more years in the oven it would've been a masterpiece, well, for me it still peak assassin's creed once you overlook the flaws
@@cali6662
I'd say less, even a few more months to a year just to fix 99% of the bugs that came at launch would be an incredible improvement.
Now, with 3-5 years more (which is unrealistic due to Ubisoft's greedy ass that wants to milk AC to oblivion) you can definitely fix the issues people had with the story and parkour mechanics
@@cali6662 Nah thats too much for just one game

Call me crazy but I actually like how heavy and weighty Valhalla feels we never got that in AC parkour and I feel like I do better than faster paced systems
I see unity getting at lot of love here, which I don't get. Every bit of it looks like it just snaps the player somewhere closeby. Fluid movement is gone and the runner has no weight anymore.
yup, animations based mess
Comment on est passé d’un parkour quasiment parfait à ça 😢
They could've made the best parkour system if they use the unity parkour with syndicate floatiness when jumping (syndicate have the most natural jump and also smooth flow) even tho the game is😬
The recent ones is heavy and lack smoothness and flow
I wish they kept the hookblade from revelations and the overall animations from unity as well as some objects from AC 4 and earlier games,it makes me really sad If I think about never seeing this parkour animations from Unity again
bro nice
For assassins creed mirage you should use portal 2 speedrun gameplay
Assassins creed 3 was the perfect parkour
