This is so true. Politics has taken over the issue . The silence of the centre is deafening. A lot of media houses have stopped talking about this issue.
Why politicians would not roll in? When politicians are the ones protecting the criminals? The solution is to bring people in power who would use power protect women not to protect criminals.
There is 2 way demand
As a human I want assurance of punishment of criminal in due time
But as a woman I want to feet safe 1st. Everyday when I go outside I see everyone as a potential rapist including my relatives & friends even though many of them are good people but that trust has been damaged. These safety concerns continuously haunt us... & it is not uncommon that in public transport, festivals anywhere always we get harassed
I may be fit to fight but I'm not always ready to fight & it should not be like this.
This is the thing here that has been upheld.
Politics definitely needs to Play a role but the point of discussion is not power but how the matter can be addressed better. Not giving speeches in air but telling about exact policy approach & how will it be implemented.
The ruling party needs to show accountability or step down & opposition must address the things mentioned with better alternatives or stop demanding to be in power.

Please do update on 2023 IIT-BHU case of abduction/ gangr**e/blackmail. Kunal Pandey and Anand Chauhan, alias Abhishek Chauhan, the accused, are out on bail. It is most disturbing that these dangerous persons are on the streets again.

Whatever respect I had for the current system is now going downhill badly... Initially, I thought it takes time to workout a problem in such a diverse and big country , but it is crystal clear now that they are avoiding what they are voted and paid to do. Nevertheless, we will not stop this rally. We will keep this fight on for justice and for our rights.
WB is the state of great leaders and freedom fighters and there was a time when freedom struggles in west bengal was inspiration to the whole nation and india followed. Its heartbreaking to see the home state of Subhash Chandra Bose and Rabindranath Tagore being destroyed by people who were once regarded as leaders of freedom struggle.

In America, watching different videos, we find and firmly believe that CM Mamta is part of the killing of Doctor on 8/9 August. We hope CBI took into everything. Let's say that after the doctor is killed, then riot at the hospital to break the room to remove any evidence, then setting up Sanjay Roy, police arrived late, police allowed many people into the incident room, rush for funeral. On top of it, CM Mamta's 82 second phone recording in three parts. She thought it takes time to turn on the recorder and the way no one could record. To cover her face and charges, she is coming hard on public. If CBI need help, they can reach US FBI or CIA. They will be fair and help the people for justice.
Again Mamta and her cronies and are definitely involved ...the way it was handled to the way she is trying to blame the centre when it's her state she is police minister and health minister and cm. And she did not deliver fast courts the centre has set up around countries there already laws we did not need more laws from her to distract but implementing and answers from her and her cronies and the culprits delivered. They making it very difficult for CBI or anyone to get evidence and they tampered with it and lied to parents and they cremated victim. This is more than a smoking gun Mamta must fall if there is no delivery of justice right now in this case. Disgusted a female MP has behaved like the worst of make politicians and their selective outrage on rape has back to bite India bloc in their own states and where is the non stop noise from Rahul to the rest. If it was a bjp state and they still going on about raoes in their state instead of coming clean and being accountable for their own state failures which they in charge of not the centre.

As an woman from WB I can say to them who actually want to know the issue: here the issue has developed mainly 3 fold now
1. Safety in Medical Institutions & focus on women safety
2. Corruption by government & govt officials
3. Political accountability
& For 3 I'm putting some points here
Toppling the head of the govt (of state) will barely address the issue of women safety until & unless people get formal assurance by next ministers & political members about
i) how they can set accountability right
ii) not letting the people who has criminal allegations & violent party workers of other party to shift the party
iii) what & the changes they're going to make to ensure safety & stop corruption
iv) less political interference on systemic procedure by police & others
v) taking collusive bribery also in account & public need to vow to reduce social tolerance of corruption
Etc etc
Because every time the govt changes there is barely any ground level changes happen: I am witness of a lot of people who are just party leaders' of the ruling party not TMC or CPIM or BJP they just shift the party with the change of power
Including on of my schoolmate did the same he changed the party thrice during last state election
Rape & sexual violence has always happened & govt has always tried to cover it up some took front page some has not.
