I will do, indeed!!🙏😋 It was very fun that he wanted to participate in a video, and even more fun to show one of several task to be performed to have a great production!!😁
Thank you SO much for this video!🙏 I just love dozers and track loaders, my favourite earthmoving machines!😎 Somewhat "lost art" operating these beasts nowdays, unfortunately...😔 P.S. great operator you have!😁👌 Greetings again from Finland!🇫🇮🌲
Thank you for watching and for sharing your thoughts and questions!🙏😊 This is a 200 acres industrial site, planned for various buildings from gas station and fast food restaurant, to various wear houses!👌
Hi Bernhard, this video sure does give a different perspective on this site you guys have been working on. Over here we measure land in acres, I’m not sure what you measure land in over in Norway. How big a site is that , and how long will you all be working there? What town or city is it near? Thank you for spending the time to make these. All the best, Bill W.
Thank you Bill, I did try to give a larger perspective, nice that you got the impression you did!🙏🙂 We measure land in acres ourselves!😉 This site is 200 acres in total, about 100 acres of hills that we blast and shift to 100 acres of valleys!😋 This particular area, is the deepest valley, and about 20 meters of altitude to fill up! Our layers are maximum 2 meters, so we have some layers to build..😅 I believe this layer was number 5! We were supposed to work this site until August, but ate speed we have had, seems to push our finish up to May!😄 This site is close to, and between to towns called Larvik and Porsgrunn!😋 Thank you for watching and for sharing your thoughts and questions!🙏😊
Hi again, Bernhard so I found the area on a map and after looking at the map, about how many kilometers away from your home are you working? I think you live southwest of that site, but cannot judge the distance. No wonder you guys work 2 weeks on and 2 off. I also noticed that there are not any vibratory rollers in your videos. Are they satisfied with the compaction provided by the truck traffic around the site? 👍 Bill W
@@williamwalsh7128 hi again!🙂 Wow, you really do your research!😊 I am living 112 kilometers northeast of this site, on the east side of the Oslo fjord!😋 My town is called Sarpsborg!🙂 Well, we certainly don’t rely on compaction by trucks and dozers, we have a large Hamm compactor working non stop on various fills!😁 There at two dozers laying rock like this, and an excavator that builds roads and stuff! The compactor was at another location when we filmed this, but if you look closely on the pictures in the end of this video, you will se the marks from the compactor on the previous layer!👌😋
Hi Bernhard, So I think as a change of pace you should load a few of the 390s on a boat and head out to the Suez Canal. They need some material moved in a hurry, and it would be like digging in ice cream compared to what you guys usually handle. Talking about your home again I thought when we spoke last year that you lived in a small town on the south west side of Norway. Maybe you were there on vacation or something. All the best have a great week. Bill w.
Haha, I think we at least could find some more suitable equipment for the task at the Suez Canal!😂😂👍 We could send our long reach 390, and a long reach 870..😅 Perhaps I should have mine there after all as well, to load away the piles thrown up from the canal.🤪😄 Ah, I see! I think that I always have written that I travel southwest to go to this site, but it’s of course easy to misunderstand!😋 Seems like we are going north after this project, exiting to see what’s happening next!😁 Will be longer commuting though, with plane ride and all!😄
Hi!🙋♂️🙂 Several buildings will rise on this site, in variations from gas stations and fast food restaurant to wear houses!😋 This site is 200 acres, and are split in several lots, that is sold separately to different customers!😊 This is a popular site, so the demand for land has generated start on another site next to this one!

Hi!🙋♂️🙂 Yes, that is correct!😋 Fun to show what we see, gets a little bit more variety, than one fixed angle will show! Especially in a dozer! The operator used my GoPro Hero 4 on head strap, and I put my iPhone 11 Pro on a tripod for the timelapse!😊
Hi!🙋♂️🙂 You obviously know some about compaction!👌 Well, for the first, I wonder why you would assume that we compact the layers without water! The dozer is not sufficient to compact blasted rock, so we run a large Hamm compactor on the surface when the dozer has finished the layer.😋 The compactor was somewhere else when we made this video, so this is not a video about compaction!🙂 There is taken pressure tests on the rock foundation, parallel to all the documentation both GPS and other instruments in the compactor saves while working! If there are anything to the results that needs attention, the suitable measures will be taken! You are so right though, water does the compaction easier!😊 Thank you for watching and for sharing your thoughts!🙏🙂
@@norwegianearthmovers copy that and thanks for your reply. I suppose the soils techs here must be more anal here. We need to have water added as we knock down the piles. I believe it's more of a control thing. Your way seems to be faster/more productive. In a rock fill, as long as you can get the water to penetrate, the wetter , the better.
You are welcome!😊 Jepp, all materials are different in how they behave when leveled out, and compacted! I guess blasted rock is the most predictable material, I have worked with both sand, moreign and clay earlier, all very unstable materials to make a foundation with..😅 Water is critical to some materials, just enough of course, to much will only make the dirt float and quit carrying anything..🤪😄 As I wrote, the guys responsible for the compaction has it under control, they are great at what they do!🤩
@Suffacated You can also see this rock has good fines and moisture content, AFter the dozer pushes a layer and track rolls it is dark, Maybe because of the snow/frost. On the edges you can see the segregated rock that was dry but this is normal when filling. 36 years in the Industry... 😊
@@Suffacated In your case, maybe water is needed to keep the dust controlled for the environment. I doubt with many 772's and repeated D8 passes over what was dumped, that compaction would even be needed with this job. Water works great for compacting sand and rock dust (leftovers from the crusher). But water with loam or clay would turn to slop. And water with rock, well the water would just drain down before it's purpose could be utilized. So in this situation weight and vibration would be best.
Set er det ingen tvil om!🤩 Hehe, valsen er litt overalt hele tiden, var ikke her da vi filmet dette..😅 Men du ser sporene av den i laget under, på bildene på slutten av filmen!😄
