    Thanks for this video!!! I delivered a load of scaffolding, for this project a couple years ago. One of the coolest project's I've ever been part of. Wasn't even remotely connected when I was there. Each side was racing to finish first... Steel was coming from Canada, but other resources were coming from the US... So the advantages for each side were about even they said.

    Out of all the update videos I have seen of this project, this is by far the best one I have seen to date. This one pretty much covers everything from the bridge to border crossing areas. It would have been cool to do a drone fly-thru inside the cables looking down and forward with the roadway below and cables and towers above and on sides, but I am sure that would be prohibited. Anyway, nice video and good information.

    • @bobjonesrealtor7756
      @bobjonesrealtor7756  2 месяца назад +1

      Hi KSmit. This is what I found. he Gordie Howe International Bridge will connect several major trails on both sides of the Canada-US border:
      Canadian Side
      The bridge will link to the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail in Windsor, Ontario, which is part of the larger Trans Canada Trail network. The Trans Canada Trail is the world's longest recreational trail system, spanning 28,000 kilometers across Canada.
      The reconstruction of Sandwich Street includes dedicated bike paths. I don't know if they will connect to the bridge. Thanks for the compliment.

    • @bobjonesrealtor7756
      @bobjonesrealtor7756  Месяц назад +1

      Hi josargor. I did a quick search as your question is interesting. This is what I got back:
      Wage Rates:
      'Canada: Construction workers on the Canadian side (Ontario) might earn between CAD $25 to CAD $40 per hour, depending on the specific job role, skill level, and union affiliations.
      United States: Construction workers on the American side (Michigan) might have hourly wages ranging from approximately USD $20 to USD $35 or more, again depending on similar factors such as experience and role.'
      The big differance is the exchange rate and how they are taxed.

      Hi User. That's horrible. Sorry for your loss. The new bridge pedestrian walkway will have an unclimbable barrier to stop that from what I understand. They closed the Ambassador walkway in 2011 for security concerns and never reopened it. Maroun didn't want to do the repairs and maintainence to reopen it.

    SHOULD have been 4-lane for the next few hundreds growing trade and people. One extra lane for emergency vehicles and another extra lane extra for people and bike lanes that makes five lane for each side if not for 6-lanes for each side. Looks too narrow! Ya it is NOT wide enough!

    • @bobjonesrealtor7756

    Nice update! The only thing that doesn't make much sense is the pedestrian/bike path. Maybe I'm missing something, but your average casual cyclist, walker or jogger normally doesn't normally carry a passport. I would guess one would need a passport to even be allowed on the bridge? But then again, I guess since Canada is paying for it, that is irrelevant for those of us here in the US.

    • @bobjonesrealtor7756
      @bobjonesrealtor7756  2 месяца назад +5

      Hi leeriffee. They would if they planned on crossing a border. It works the same on both sides of the border. I think I read somewhere they are going let it be used free. Still have to clear customs. It'll be a novelty, but I wouldn't expect a steady stream of folks using it.

    • @ChrisSeliga
      @ChrisSeliga 2 месяца назад +3

      That's one of two major expansion joints for the bridge, the other is on the US side, there are no expansion joints on the bridge deck itself at all, so these two joints (one on each side) where the bridge connects to the roadway are super important!

    • @bobjonesrealtor7756
      @bobjonesrealtor7756  2 месяца назад +3

      Hi Bert. It's where the Bridge Deck and the Road Deck meet. I believe the two decks are not constructed the same as they serve different functions. What that means for connecting them I'm not sure. I'll see what I can find out. Thanmks for the question.
