  • A little late but here a small film from this year’s opening on The Em. Fishing was a bit better than last year but far away from what it should be. Great company, fantastic surrounding and a few good fish made it still very memorable.
Very interesting was to take part of the new tagging project. More information and greater knowledge is all very important in the fight to preserve those great fish!
Don’t forget to donate a sum to Gustaf Ulfsparres foundation - we need all help we can get! Instructions in the end of the film. Put your donation in the comment field for all to applaud.

Wading is less for older gentleman I’ve found out , but still good in lower flows . Nice couple of days on the river sad to hear about the small return of fish and the continuing growth of the fish farming industry. Thanks for the video

Thank you, Mikaël. Your Em videos are always exciting and inspirational...( and also very funny when you banter with Håkan! )
Keep up the good fight, and I know you understand that here in Canada, especially in British Columbia, fish farms are becoming a very bad problem as well. We must all remain vigilant and try to show our governments that farmed fish will never replace the wild stocks properly. It is an endless story.
Tack så mycket, Mikaël. Täta linjer! 👍🏻🎣

I thoroughly enjoyed this video, Mikael. It made me rather nostalgic as my grandfather, who owned Emsfors Bruk, fished here most of his life (1930’s to 1960’s).

      Hej Mikael,
His name was Ragnar Örn, and he lived at Herregården in Påskallavik. He died when I was five or six so I only have this information from my mother. It would be interesting if he is perhaps recorded in the game or fishing books at Em as I think he may have shot there too. I still have his split cane rods!
      Best,
      Eric.

Wish we had these attitudes here in Newfoundland.Govt is destroying the coast with fish farming, constant disease and die offs...No prob let's approve another. That compounded with the constant bickering of salmon anglers,"bad science" and refusal to accept the "good" science...But hey!less then 2 weeks til' we get a crack at some silver again so there is that!
