i love my radian my father and i built a 1990 and was the last thing him and i did before his cancer got the best of him. i have a pic of the Radian and his Harley with his quote. " Father to his Son. Miles may distance us. But its the ride that brings us together". was the last time we rode together. beautiful bike man.
I remember buying one of these new in 1986. $2400 out the door. Smooth, simple, reliable. I wouldn't have said the headlight was ugly. I would say it was a different time and aesthetic. I find a lot of modern motorcycle styling lacking...angular, all hard edges. I find the older 1980's - 1990's bikes a lot more attractive on balance.
Greetings fellow citizen of Canuckistan!! No, a motorcycle IS NOT a "thing". A car is a thing. A motorcycle is like a lover: you don't ride it, you carress the road on it. You don't lend your wife and you don't lend your motorcycle. It's a very personal, special relationship. This ideology is not purely fanciful. More so than with a car, the motorcycle operator must TRUST the machine.
600 Radian was my first motorcycle..I bought it used in the navy in 1988 for $800 and it was in great condition ...I rode it for 3 years in San Diego Cal. and sold it for the same $800 when i left. now here it is 2019 and the prices are High on Craigslist. I sell what they are posted for but i dont think they are selling at those high prices....not really a demanding bike . but i would still love to have one
I had a 1986 radian blue and drag raced a v65 magna 3 times he couldn't get me in the quarter mile the only problem was it was so small 😂 i ride a vmax now
I had one of these in this colour the tank used to make a clucking noise as it sat after a ride as air went back in the tank lol. like xjbottom end , and fz top end ...really nice bike
sonof spongebob ha ha ha ha! Dude it really is hilarious when friends/people in general are standing around and hear that noise and make funny faces trying to figure it all out!! Ha ha ha!
I had a brand new 1986 Radian, bought from a dealer that was going out of business, payed $1600.00. Some idiot stole it out of my apartment parking lot shortly after it rolled over 10,000 miles, back in 1989. I think it's time to get another one;-)
I pick mine up in the morning. Spent over $2000 in repairs last 3 years. I don't do carbs and almost no one wants to work on it. Sucks but I like it. Mine has 6K miles on it.
My first ever bike, a grey import in the UK. She had a round headlight which definitely improved her looks and the insides (sorry, I don't do technical) of the exhausts were pretty much rusted away so she sounded incredible. No idea how she passed the MOT test. I part exchanged her for a new ZX6R in 2000, which was a wonderful bike, but now I'm a fair bit older I wish I still had the Radian. I took my bike test on her and my instructor (who rode a V-Max) christened her the "mini V-Max".
That looks so clean, do you ride it? Mine, 1986 is more of a rat bike. Most modern bikes of the same size aren't much quicker. You do get ABS for the over sensitive brakes on the newer bikes though.

I road a Radian from NYC to Miami when I ran away from home at 16. Great bike.

I'd take the ol Yamaha any day
That was my first street bike. I loved that thing.
That radian will haul ass.......it would keep up with my Nighthawk S
My first bike!
My Radian was a split personality.
Docile cruiser, until you 'assume the position' and run it 11K-14K... then it's a sport bike.
1986 for $600.00 there is nothing out there that I would give mine up for. Had it over 5yrs 😎
Loved my Radian.

The radian is one of the best handling bikes on earth, high or low speed.

Love my Radian.
OMG it's fucking beautiful
Beautiful bikes man, I just got one and was wondering what kind of engine oil do you put in?
Go with synthetic if you are gonna beat on it otherwise regular works great just keep it topped up and change it EVERY YEAR.
Subscribed..
Hey bro I have a question.. I have a radian you could tell me where the hose that comes out of the right side of the tank is connected?

Yes I took my test on the Radian as well... carbs are off now one is plugged up...great fun.
You're the second Brit I've heard that from. My friend Duncan Cunningham (from Birmingham) used that very phrase.
I concur- identical design goals.
Sexy vintage bike 👌
AvE?
Sort of sounds like him, but not as salty, too refined.

Im gonna ride it today perhaps. Have both insured I planned to sell her but couldn't find the will so mine to keep love them both
Daniel LeClare what' the cost
I paid $2000 less than 10 years ago. Still can easily get that if I sell.
Insurance cost is less for the smaller bike if that is what you are asking. one third the cost of the litre bike ins...
Will you consider selling it?
