The genius of these two is that I, as an American with no knowledge of Australian politics and current events, can still follow and appreciate the satire. They boil it down to a universal humor where you can understand what's going on. And it's hilarious.

They are very much geniuses but this is not about Australian politics specifically, but about Neoliberalism which is very much present in Muh'rica and here after the US toppled our democracy and picked a genocidal neoliberal dictator as a replacement, in behalf of the nearly 30.000 tortured, murdered and disappeared, thank you guys for that...
The saddest part is that Muh'ricans have done this so many times in so many places that you won't even be able to guess which country and dictator I'm talking about.

@@eleSDSU you're on the right track but feel like you've went to an extreme take over an unbiased, accurate one. Besides, not the thing you should be pointing out if you want to look to improve. Most major powers and a solid chunk of current governments around the world have proved to be capable of horrendous shit. Australia ironically enough is a prime example.

Australia was once a proudly multicultural society. A few decades later we were horrified to discover a growing number of racists here, many of whom being the children or grandchildren of immigrants themselves, openly saying that Asians and Muslims are the "cause of all our problems" whatever the hell that means.
Now we just don't care. Anger about our racist attitudes towards immigrants is old news. That's something we as a country should be ashamed of.

Australia was and still to a large degree is, a proud anglo country built and founded by white ppl, not one of them was an immigrant, they were settlers and colonists who brought civilization to the Australian continent discovered by their seafaring ancestors, which they turned into a thriving homogenous nation and civilization worth travelling to
The current crop of tourist are guests immigrating to a white country for all the comforts and opportunities it can provide them
Real Australians are sick of their country being given over to rootless foreigners with no connection or respect towards the white Australian nation
Spare me the bs about abos, not one immigrant today is coming over to spend time with those savages n live Ike them on their God-forsaken participation trophy reservations/shitholes

Australia is probably by far the biggest recipient of migrants. We take around 300,000 a year which probably doesn't account for all the back door visa's that now exist. In comparison the US take over a million but in a country of 350m that's a drop in the bucket. Germany generally takes around 300,000 with their pop of 80m and even in 2015 the million they took in about matched Australia's normal intake. It has to make you really wonder about anyone who thinks we should do more. All of our boat people were economic migrants just the same as our immigrants. How dumb were our politicians opening overseas detention centres when they should all have been instantly flown back to where they came from.

Every now and then when you are embarrassed by the racists and anti-immigrant factions in your own country it is nice to know that other countries have the same problem, much as I wish they didn't. Good luck chaps.

Being anti-illegal immigrant isn't the same as being anti-immigrant. Legal immigrants are some of the most patriotic and hard working people you will ever meet. Lowering standards for non whites makes you the racist.

Immigration is important resource of any large economy. The point is that the government has to determine what is right for business and the environment, not to mention how much money is spent to assimilate poorly educated people from other cultures.
The poor choices and habits of people in other nations should not dictate a guilt complex to Australian citizens. If a people decide to overpopulate their country - then who's fault is that?

Yeah, tough country even when your not staying. Took my pocket knife off me, the pocket knife that Birmingham, UK allowed me to board with & transit through Dubai. Was only transiting through Australia too. They're all immigrants but won't recognise the true indigenous people who've been there 50,000+ years. And the Maoris think they have it bad in NZ having only been here 1000 years!
