Josh and the SUV/Prius scene is one of the most fun on the whole series. And then how Josh keeps digging the hole as the episode goes on is even more fun. Also, I was teaching a college Environmental Science course and we were doing alternative energy the WEEK this aired, and several of my students saw it, and were impressed with what a good job the show did at dealing with the pros and cons of the other fuel sources as we understood them back in 2004 or so. Very smart writing.
This episode definitely did a great job (as always happens on this how) of laying out the complexities of political issues. Having Bartlett ultimately explain the role economics plays in these decisions was fantastic writing.
You cannot tell me that behind the scenes with Annabeth and Toby, Kristen Chenoweth wasn’t singing bars of ‘Popular’. Personality Dialysis is particularly fitting for Toby.
I enjoy your comments before and after episodes and you guys do a fine job speculating however I was surprised when you spoke about possible peeps running for President you did not mention President Glen Walken (John Goodman). He served although briefly as President and was Speaker of House (from Missouri middle of country state with broad appeal). It certainly would make sense for someone like that would run, doncha think?
I came across your channel last episode and said "oh, I can join you right when the show is getting good again". Maybe...I'm a little earlier than I thought haha. It's not that this episode is bad, but definitely a lighter one :) It's fine. Once the new/changed/departed roles have settled in for Leo/CJ/Charlie/Toby/Kristen Chenoweth, the show itself will feel more settled in.
Oddly enough, there is a current Hummer in production but it's electric so JM decided to do something entirely different with the emissions situation regarding that particular vehicle
I've always had a crush on Kristin Chenoweth. 9:35 Even if he were talking to a journalist, something isn't off the record just because you say it's off the record. Unless the journalist agrees it's off the record, it isn't.
Oof poor Bob. The thing is I really like his introduction, you gotta love Gary Cole and I thought it got across that he's reasonably smart about not being smart. He's not clueless about who he is. Except for right here. This might be his worst moment on the show? I don't care if you mix up the word "promulgate", frankly a portmanteau of propagate and promulgate makes a lot of sense! But NEVER be condescending to CJ. To be honest I'd completely forgotten about it because I never rewatch this one.

Josh digging himself deeper was extremely similar to the Lemon Lyman incident from back in the Sorkin years haha. Learn your lesson you knucklehead!

Honestly, we completely missed it. It makes sense.
I think even Bartlet offer to campaign for him. He was a great addition to the show!
I'm only paying 2.64 for gas. Yall keep up the great work much love from Lawton Fort Sill Oklahoma *** THE GERBLAXICAN ***
Thank you so much! Right back at you!

"Obliterate" or damage to one corner. Do you see how news stories of politicians get overblown so quickly?

They're a behemoth. And IIRC they weigh in in the 9400-9700lb range.

11:23 you know she's ten times smarter than you, right... well, yeah but so is a box of hair so he's used to it.
Seriously. It's gross when a guy that dumb is so condescending.

In previous seasons they give hints that Bob "Bingo" had some untapped potential. Self awareness, for example.
I agree, not all Republicans on the show were bad - Loved Ainsley! However, the exception to that would definitely be Hafley. I despised him.
Halfley was criticized as a cartoonish parody in 2005. He would be indistinguishable in the current gaggle in Congress.
@@andrewbrown4362 Hell, he's nuanced today!
