2:42 absolutely ! i was uninformed at the time, i made that up by myself bc i was enjoying deadlifting when i come to 17 years old i reached up to 190kgs 1 RM of deadlift @78kg bodyweight working out 1 year using exact same method. i deadlifted 2 times a week did nothing but adding 5kgs starting from each side of the bar climbing to failure and it worked well.
I would argue progressive overload happens because of adaptation not the other way around but you're 100% right it is as simple as trying to progressively overload your lifts. Most people try for the fancy hacks which is usually less efficient
What garage strength guy is talking about in engineering terms is the amount of work preformed. In this case you multiply weight x reps x sets. So if you have 100lbs and do 3 set of 10 you've preformed 3000 work units. If you track this in excel it becomes real easy the next time you do that exercise. You can do the same weight 3x 12 and that is 3600 work units. Or you can go 105 x 3 x 10 and that's 3150 work units. The key is progression, and tracking it.
Great video! It really helps to understand the « why » behind all this when you’re creating your workout plan and you did a great job of explaining. Also, the noises you make when you finish an exercise are super funny, I appreciated those too 😂
I’ve seen a ton of your videos and really enjoy watching them, but I’m still not sure on a rep scheme for strength that I can do every workout on my compound lifts without a long program. With a lot of sports I wouldn’t really be able to be consistent with a long program. I was thinking maybe a 5x3 with one back off set?
I had a hunch that's where your name came from haha especially since a lot of athletes had the train underground so to speak long before gyms were so popular and everywhere, or even accessible when school hours are not in
Hay dane I love so much I see you from Egypt And I am a rower so I wish you make an episode specially for rowing and endurance training Also I wish say my name in one of your episodes 😅 Thank you for all the effort you made ❤
Every time i think about this i just get wayy to stressed for no fuking reason. Everything is just to confusing, i know a huge amount of workouts but dont do them because i dont know were to start.
I just watched a video of an 11 year old girl clean and jerking 200 lbs. Then I see a front page for a video posted by a woman holding a 20 ? lbs Dumbbell in a single arm rack position with title “Redefining Strength ( at any age ). Maybe??? People are afraid to lift weight then find out they can’t lift weight because they haven’t been producing any time under tension. You eight get better or worse, rarely stay the same.
I can bicep curl 20 kilos I could do that from november last year Which is funny because it was supposed to be a new resolution I'm a lazy liar so it still was And it was the fastest resolution ever

I am 16 yrs old and I hit 250kg deadlift conventional earlier.
Starting Strength to start then 5-3-1 THEE best way to start strength training! I'm 63 and still adding weight to the bar every month!
This works I'm 111 tomorrow and just hit a PR deadlift of 550
The simplest realest words of wisdom.
Lift stuff, don't cry, eat, sleep, repeat😂
drink water, and smell your sleeves.
Repeat until strong
Ah… don’t cry. I’ll try that 😂
😂
A vast majority of all these people(RUclips fitness experts/influencers) are enhanced.
Great content as always, guys. Keep up the great work!
saw a couple videos now where homie was rocking the based hip hop T's and teaching the next level fitness lol. I can dig it ! 🍻🤙

same. can’t force progression, just manipulate stimuli
@@JorgeGonzalez-sx7fk Exactly!!

I'm just here because of the GZA logo 🙌🏾 🙌🏾
Rep more or set more or lift more, here it is, progressive overload, your welcome ;)

Love the star of your video!
Does the bench press scheme you provided at the end work for squatting as well? And upper back or bicep compound exercises?
Hay dane

I’m somehow getting the sense I might have to add more weight to the bar
Every time i think about this i just get wayy to stressed for no fuking reason. Everything is just to confusing, i know a huge amount of workouts but dont do them because i dont know were to start.
Can you address how to prevent a pec tendon tear? I am a 54 yr old male
So, we are clear don't lower the weight...decrease the reps ?
Thank You man😊😀🥰
Are rate of force development exercises good for speed and vertical jump (example. Im doing trap bar deadlifts trynna get as many reps in 10 secs
I’m having trouble rotating my right foot and staying grounded in my glide
The explanation given at 9:00 doesn’t make sense… hit a given weight for 4-5 straight sets but add 5 pounds each set? What exactly does that mean?
Tren hard. Dbolish your dreams.
5/3/1 nuff said
The bar decelerates when I bench and soreness does not help at all
Lift alot of heavy shit!
🐐
I'm just here because of the GZA logo 🙌🏾 🙌🏾
When you finally understand all the difficult stuff, you realize that you have to go back to the basis 🤙🏼
Nice GZA shirt
All his videos are really just one big ad for his app tbh 😂
