Alex La-Chiusa man that’s how I felt when I talked to him, I was thinking like “if he didn’t live in Texas I think we could be friends.” Seems like a genuine cool dude.
I have so much respect for this man and his beliefs. Guns, Texas, I think you should leave, album in a week. What a great interview, never stop doing these!!
I still remember when i moved to Sherman Tx(2008), i was looking for other musicians and went to a show at a Boys and Girls Club in Denison Tx (next town over) and Kublai Khan was playing and Matt was the first person to come up and talk to me and introduce himself. I didnt even know he was in one of the bands. They have come a long way since then, its so cool to see.
i met him when he played in fargo at an espresso parlor. UNREAL. SHOW. such a down to earth dude, i can't wait to see them again when this covid shit is over.
That last question was honestly super important. Kublai Khan went on Warped Tour and the tour that this interview was taken on with Despised Icon in just 2 years and now they've definitely got a bit of a fan base in the deathcore community.
Born and raised in Oklahoma and used to see Matt and the guys around all the time.. Always had great times at KK shows and great convos with the TX guys after. Unbelievable to see how far they’ve come.
It was a real small show and I don’t remember seeing anyone film - but I wish there would’ve been. Anytime the boys played Indian Rock Lodge or Eagles Lodge was always a super wild time. Makes me miss those 2010-2013 days
Did notice the harmonics a bit before halfway through Beneath a Crescent Moon. Thought it sounded super sick and wanna hear more! (Edit: The subtlety of it was perfect)
Beneath a Crescent Moon is my favorite from that album too, mostly cause of that goddamn riff (you know the one). I could listen to that all day, basically already have been for the last couple days.
Now I know that Matt and I mutually love Jurassic Park more than any other movie, I can say I fucking love this band. Well, I'm a cat guy, but I can let that slide.
Hey Im also from Washington, nice to see another! Also I feel like Senses Fail brings a lot of weird and different bands on tour with them. Ive seen such a wide variety of different little nuggets of subgenres on tour with senses fail, its always really cool!
I love this idea. Such a cool way to run interviews. I also want to say I love the editing of this. Small edits keep people's attention. You could of easily just hit record and uploaded it but this is VERY easy to watch
I love your format with these interviews! Great editing and fantastic interview, learned so much about one of my fav bands. Hope the milk didn’t fuck his throat up too much lol
Oof! Fucking love this shit. Especially being from a town two hours away from Sherman. Texas bands have been fuckin’ shit up recently and that warms my heart.
Just thought I'd give some honest criticism that I felt the editing was a bit constant like the sound effects and zooming were a bit non stop and overkill. Kept getting engrossed and then pulled out of it with some strange noise or jarring cut
@@CalebRalston for sure! This is great content. It's like you and Matt are just hanging out. The editing is on point. The audio is incredible. Excited to see more!
We need a kublai khan, varials, and knocked loose tour
Baby Lizzo varials 😢😢😢
add Slaughter to Prevail in the mix and that would be the most insane mosh of all time
You forgot “Gideon” my friend 🤘🏻🥴😂
David Arciniega dream tour: Gideon, Kublai Khan, Alpha Wolf, and The Ghost Inside
Literally my three favourite bands. I saw so many good bands at Unify 2020, including KK and KL
i did NOT expect his voice to sound like this 💀
95% of hardcore singers have normal ass voices its great lmao
Yeah for every Phil Anselmo you have 100 singers who don't sound at all like you would think they do
I absolutely love that this doesn't feel like an interview but genuinely just two friends hanging out. Subscribed!
Alex La-Chiusa man that’s how I felt when I talked to him, I was thinking like “if he didn’t live in Texas I think we could be friends.” Seems like a genuine cool dude.
That's exactly what I thought...
That bass only breakdown hit sooooo goddamn hard on self destruct
as corny as this sounds, matt was the first dude to hand the mic to me in the crowd. KK forever, southern hard shit forever.
Southern hard shit absolutely goes in
This interview is awesome

I don't know what I thought this dude's voice would sound like, but it sure wasn't this.
I got to hang out with Matt when they played in Denver.
This interview reminded of how much fun that was.
Get an interview with Left Behind!

Beneath a Crescent Moon is my favorite from that album too, mostly cause of that goddamn riff (you know the one). I could listen to that all day, basically already have been for the last couple days.
I didn't expect him to be so cool, honestly.
They remind me exactly of Sherman, Texas and I couldn’t love it more. GOD BLESS TEXAS
Matt has a strong Texas accent!!
I love kublai khan even more after this one
Crazy... I saw them at that senses fail tour and had no idea who they were. Now they’re one of my favorite bands! Hell yeah!
Now I know that Matt and I mutually love Jurassic Park more than any other movie, I can say I fucking love this band. Well, I'm a cat guy, but I can let that slide.
