Living Loving Maid lesson: • The REAL way to play L...
Jason Land breaks down the most often overlooked techniques to properly play Heartbreaker off of Led Zeppelin. You'll learn modified picking techniques, chord voicing options, proper rhythm and all of the other Jimmy Page playing secrets. This will be the first in a serious of Jimmy Page lesson videos we're calling, Zosocianado for your Page aficionados out there!
of all the instructional vids here on RUclips, you are by far the best at showing/explaining things. I've been playing Heartbreaker for years and apparently incorrectly at certain points so thank you for the lesson!
Really appreciate that. Thank you for the message and for watching!!
A lot of the picking/strumming is Page's feel. Nice to see how it's done!
A lot of guitar teachers out there in the world, and most of them stink. But you’re one of the good ones. Your explanations are concise, clear, and you go over everything note by note. You’re a breath of fresh air. Most Internet guitar teachers are just showing off and they have no clue how to teach. Good for you.
Thank you very much for the words and time, very kind of you, it's appreciated. Please feel free to join the newsletter for updates on new videos and unpublished content (link in notes section of the video). Thanks again, good start to my day.
An excellent lesson; highly instructive and (to my ear) sounds identical to the official studio version. Learned a lot here - thank you.
Thank you! Would you mind joining the mailing list? It's in the description of the video, looking to add subs and send out more content! You rock!
Great lesson big fan of the nuances does really make a big difference

Jason the only feedback I have is this. I personally live the way you instruct. You spend a little extra time on rhtyhm technique but spend Jayant enough time on the rest. Perfect. Would really love to see separate videos (call it part II) of the solos that go along with the zep tunes. Zep is The Godfather if Rock and your teaching approach is the best I’ve seen. So please give us the solos (and maybe the tabs ;)
Live should be “love” and Jayant should be “just” . My apologies for the typos
Jason I am looking four your Kashmir lesson. I dont care if its in French. You are the best instructor on the internet.
Thanks Rich! Too kind of you, I'm currently working on Kashmir but don't want to rush it. I like to do my research before putting out the content, I want to get it right. It's coming! I just produced a video asking for feedback on how to make the videos better, would love your feedback!
Thanks for the support.
I used to play Heartbreaker on a record player. Then I moved up to CDs and now I stream it. Sounds great every time.
Its video like this that will make people understand who Jimmy Page is. A true master. Well done.
Terrific lesson. Hope to see more in the future!
more coming soon! What would you like to see us cover? Thanks for the feedback
For Zeppelin - Communication Breakdown, Good Times Bad Times and maybe Trampled Underfoot. Thanks!

Well taught. Best Heartbreaker lesson I've seen, I'll be looking for more of your tutorials.
Thank you! I've done a bunch of other Zepp tunes. Thanks for viewing!
@@GuitarNinjas Good song to learn , also , well taught .
That was great
I've been working on it 2 weeks now and your tips really make the song sound studio version. Do you have the solo video out yet. I can't wait to get the entire song down but no need to know it unless it right like you teach. A big like and subscribe from me. I bought my 73 custom les paul because of this and learned bits and pieces but now I want the entire song and play it right. Thanks for a great video.
Thank you soooo much man I've been trying to find a good lesson on this masterpiece...I subscribed
Thanks! Let me know what other songs you'd like to see!
@@GuitarNinjas Wanton Song. Page plays a lot of songs in an atypical way . Lots of of open notes and weird bends. So many people get his licks wrong. Not many play Page and actually sound like Page

This was so good my heart started breakin’
Just subbed
lol, thank you! would love to see a vid of you playing it! @guitar_ninjas on IG thanks for watching
I can play "Good Times, Bad Times" pretty well, but I'd very interested in how you count some of those part out it seems as if the Drum parts are coming in after the guitar. Best of Luck to ya and thank you for your time.
Can You tell Us how are you getting that great tone out of an amplifier? Great sound!
Thank you!!! It was very simple.. Stone Bender fuzz pedal and a Fender Princeton
@@GuitarNinjas I couldn't hear fuzz before at all.. I lowered gain on my amp and add some reverb...It was much better! Thank you, I'll try it with fuzz too! :)
Thx So-Much Ninja-Jason, You've helped me catch the little(BiG)Things ,as well your Communication prowess is easy & comfortable !..You Da' MaN, ThX ! ,ScottyG
Good hanging with you, Scotty! Let me know what kind of video you'd like next!
Well here’s my stupid question of the day. Just found this channel and want to know the head settings to get the sound that Page played? Thank you
Welcome! Page went through various iterations of sound. For the first record it's a combo amp (Sundragon) and a MK2 fuzz pedal! You can go with a supro and a knock off MK2 and get very close!
The D in the main riff is a double D fretted on A and doubled with open D Like in Whole Lotta Love but not bent much. Find the isolated guitar track and its really clear-- Pagey did that a lot.
Amazing best lessons on yt
Hey Jules! Thanks so much for the words. I have many other Zepp lessons on my channel and more coming! I'd love to see you playing Heartbreaker! Tag us on Instagram if you want to share! @guitar_ninjas
Counting thru the beats is such an amazing help for this song, thank you. That 4th note finally makes sense along with the quirky picking.
As for other songs maybe Black Dog? That's another hard one for me to get the timing of.
Then again could always round out heartbreaker with living loving maid :)
you hit it right on the head.. Living Loving is up next and currently in production! We have a special treat lined up for that lesson as well! I'll be posting the lesson within 10 days

@@GuitarNinjas Ahh I saw it up and came back to check this comment. Thank youu!
Nice Lesson!... Pity no mainstream pickup manufacturer makes a 'Period Correct' post 72 Jimmy Page pickup set with the Low Wind 7.5k T Top in the Bridge and the High Wind 8.6k Alnico 2 Neck PUP... Maybe no demand for the Pickups that were in the most Iconic Les Paul on the planet during its most Iconic years?
Que tal! 🤘🏻
Thanks a ton for this!
Sick video mate , made a few corrections 🙌🏽
Hey professor/guru, he plays the D note at at start of riff w an upstroke to catch a bit of the A string. Otherwise it sounds sackless.
Any chance you'd teach Celebration Day? New subscriber, trying to learn that one. Thanks so much for Heartbreaker, what a song!
Thanks, Tom! I've been working on prepping for that video! I'll be getting to it this year for sure!
Can we learn "Since I've been loving you"
Where is your other lessons. This is definitely awesome!
Thanks Rich! We're in production now and should have new content out soon! If you haven't done so please subscribe so you are notified when the vids post. Thanks so much for the support!

Jason, would like a lesson on Stairway To Heaven from the Song Remains The Same movie
Can you tell us about your signal chain? It looks like the throbak pedal you have on top of the princeton is a phaser not a drive. Are you just using amp gain? I have a princeton blackface. That would be pretty loud to get that much drive.
I'm a "keep it simple" player! Chain is: LP into the throwback (mk2 fuzz tone) into the Fender on a clean channel!
Thanks so much! I’m sure Kashmir must be on tap
Hi , Rich 50 , I did" Kasmir lesson "(in french) , have a nice day : )
Thanks for trying to move people from my page, very classy. (in English)
? I don’t understand. I’m not trying to move people from your page. You may have me confused with someone else.

Hey Bro.
I that 68 Princeton?
Interesting. I've seen various people instruct this riff and none of them really get it. Yea, the notes are there but not the groove.
I dare you to do the main riff in
The Ocean by Led Zeppelin
Guitar sounds great, is it from 1990's?
ofcourse not.....
is this played in Standard tuning ?
It is! The solo is slightly different but that is because it was recorded at another session outside of the rhythm section.
@@GuitarNinjas Cool to know, thx !
dont hear much on counting. It's nice its like singing to learn 1&2 cool..RocknRollflat5
Do a cover on Kashmir
It's coming up! Trampled Under Foot is coming out tomorrow!
Ten years gone
My brothers going to give me a 100$ if I can learn this riff
keep us posted! Tag on Instagram when you're done or if you need tips @guitar_ninjas and good luck!!!
You should play the song first before teaching it 🤷♂️
Hi, is it on utube?
“How many more times “ do that one
you should play Fool In the RAIN
Would love to! Any others?
Guitar Ninjas dazed and confused live
Do the rover !
done, I'll get to it this weekend
... the real way... checks studio recording, watches live performance and yep, THEY ARE different so anyone NOT named Jimmy Page dont bother telling me what the "right way" to play it... thank
Thanks for the feedback Rob, sorry to have upset you. Hope you have a nice day!
You should do ten years gone
It a great song
getting there! probably going to The Rover next!
Fu(€¡#g great lesson!!! Trying to learn with you!!! New sub!!!
Thanks so much, happy to have you! New videos coming soon!
what pedal sound ?
Using a Tone Bender
Wait a minute you’re not Jimmy Page
Where are you located?
I'm in Burbank! Where are you?
@@GuitarNinjas he didn’t respond so i’ll respond for him, i’m from liverpool, nice one!
Where the crazy solo guitar
I was fine until 7:09 and then he lost me :(
Let me know what your question is, happy to help!
You explained the first part very well but then the second part you just referred to the chords too quickly for a beginner. I finally figured it out and learned something while doing it. So all good now. Great video
jesus christ i thought the thumbail was jack ma
My brother.... 🤘🏻Love your video!!! Only one recommendation... if your gonna make RUclips guitar 🎸 videos, have your girl do your cuticles a bit... sounds silly but, being an Art Director & having MY GF being a beauty guru on RUclips, I know just that little bitty thing can make a big difference!!!
prob the best comment I've read yet. True story, I'm a former hand model!
Clickbait malarkey using Page’s image.
Tedious....shoot me now
What is tedious about it, Steve? A few small focus points and you'll get it! Let me know if you have any questions!
To much talking and for such an easy riff...
It's actually, "too much talking", thanks for the support though!
