I'm honestly shocked that Jack vs. The Scotsman didn't make the list. It was literally the first time where Jack fought against an opponent that was equal to him in every way. Did you not see how fast they were clashing with their swords on the bridge?
There is really no weight backing up the statement that "Cartoons are for kids." It's just something our culture has held on to but never questioned. Some shows are obviously targeted AND meant for a children audience. (Dora the Explorer, etc.) Shows like Samurai Jack back then gained greater meaning to me as I got older actually. This show for example is a piece of art. We seem to forget that "cartoons" are even created by adults. Back in the earlier 90s, cartoons like Looney Tunes are for a "general audience" for a reason, and somehow the stigma that all cartoons are only for kids and that you're childish for watching them evolved in recent decades. But again, what weight does that even have?
It's important the image of cartoons improve because if executives continue to believe that cartoons do not have mass appeal then they will cancel them or not make them in the first place. These things cost money, and for every trash reality TV show we have that's one cartoon that never got funding.
After all, THIS show got canceled. If we don't show our support for it coming back they won't keep bringing good shows back.

There is no actual weight, it just comes from ignorance to actually explore the medium and what it has to offer in art, animation and story telling limits (it's easier to animate an over the top scene than it is to get actors, cameramen, directors, stunt devil's and editors involved).
So thats about all it boils down to: ignorant assertion.
Luckily, there seems to be some bits of progress where most people don't find as much animation as childish as they used to think (at least from my observation).
There's a good deal of people getting way more into various anime (some of which can range into general audience material), and the Internet has provided a better way for people to connect to see animation in a better light as a medium (as well as provide a new place to view new generations of animation, like Vivzipop's and Wothikids' videos)! ^^
I agree. Sadly it's gotten worse with how cartoons have been bowdlerized, flanderized and propaganized in recent years.

There are many things I love about this show, but one of the things I loved is that the creators and animators made each enemy so unique and challenging in their own way, and made you genuinely feel like each enemy was a challenge for Jack. And it’s not easy coming up with SO many ideas for enemies and not fall into a cookie cutter style of villains.

The best fights in samurai jack were season three samurai vs ninja and the bounty hunters episode in season 4 I believe

okay just found the horror episode and watched it. damn, that's definitely on of my fav episodes.
my fav has to be that one, the ones we talked about, and the one with spartans.
Spartans was badass, as was the one with the travelling creatures. To see him battle so hard so close to his goal was impressive. Blind archers was pretty cool as well. Then again anything with tzarkozy attached to it is. Symbionic Titan anyone?

Samurai Jack and that Lava Monster who was actually a Viking Warrior was truly a fight to behold, man. Like there was no bad guy in that fight. Even though the Viking just wanted to rejoin his family in Valhalla, he knew he couldn’t let the samurai win. And yet even though Jack was getting slapped around and got mad by the middle of the fight, he didn’t take that shit personally and ultimately honored the warrior’s request in falling in battle. Which goes to show how much honor and respect both warriors have for one another.
They really don’t make them like they used to anymore.

I wasn't aware they were bringing Season 5 to the UK, considering Adult Swim isn't on a Turner channel therefore cannot use a Turner property, or atleast that's the logic I'm following.

jet fuel usually contains liquid oxygen propeller, and also its, yeah it is possible to get fire started in space, its a matter of science. metal like magnesium burn without air in most gases, or even water.
The music in these episodes is always perfect to the situation.
Stop reminding me that I haven't finished Samurai Jack, I'll feel obligated to watch all the seasons before the new Adult Swim series starts. :P

I love this show. but the question remains, if jacks sword cant harm the innocent how could he kill the Viking.
Sycho- Tech the Viking had a curse on him put by Aku, Jack defeated the curse and freed the Viking.
He didn't killed him though. Shell might be broken, but monster didn't died, just became his former self. Also, it is said that evil can't use it to hurt innocent, but Jack is good

The episode 3 battle was the best by far. The rest were sort of ok.
