    I was so excited when this started… but nothing is wired up… I don’t understand why this small part was overlooked. Even if it is for hanging on a wall, it should still be playable …
    The whole time you’re putting the pieces in I am thinking, when will he place some tubes to pass the wires through? You could have even run them under the landscape to hide them …
    Uff
    I give you a 9 for creativity in design style. I am sorry but I cannot rate the overall since it doesn’t work
    Happy holidays

      I thought the same... it *looks* awesome, but why just end it there..? It's beautiful, but felt like I was still waiting for the payoff at the end.

    Of all the guitar builds I've seen, this is certainly one of them.

    • @67skins75
      @67skins75 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@blinky1369Oh ya! lol. I realize that this is just an art project and not intended to be a 'great' guitar but given the density of the resin (which will have a higher resonating frequency over wood, thus making the sound sharper) and what looked like a low-end single coil pickup (also making the sound sharper), I'm really curious how nasty this would sound. Also, given there's no truss rod in the neck, it's not gonna be playable for long.

      I've seen a guy mounting a guitar bridge on the edge of a work table, mounting tuners on a different table, putting strings in and a pickup underneath Without any body or anything else, just strings suspended in space, and it played Awesome. So, most of the sound in an electric guitar probably depends on the hardware and the position of the pickup relative to the strings. My opinion.

    • @patrickwilliams3108

      @@67skins75 Inasmuch as there is no wiring from the pickups to the end jack, it's gonna be pretty quiet.

  • @hurdygurdyguy1

    Nice "looking" build!! Though from the video it's just something to hang on the wall, it's not wired up at all! It's a guitar shaped piece of sculpture... if you want a scifi guitar look at the album cover to Quicksilver Messenger Service's Just For Love ...

    Kudos and respect from Canada.

  • @1man1guitarletsgo
    @1man1guitarletsgo 10 месяцев назад +3

    It's not electric, because it contains no wiring. It's barely even a guitar (check out the strings at 08:51). It's a guitar-shaped ornament with Star Wars figures embedded in resin. It would surely be more interesting if you used that technique, but made something useful like a coffee table.

    • @brucepickess8097

    Cool build, only thing to make it better would be to see some finishing product on that wood to make it pop. Specially the back, has some incredible grain, would look beautiful! The fret board was looking so sad and dry. I hope you add some finishing oils for the wood, caude that beautiful epoxy would deserve to go with a shiny wood.

      If you look closely, you can see the artist has cleverly hidden the wiring just there, on a shelf at the lutherie supply store. This kind of concealment is the result of meticulous planning, and required the artist to expressly not order any wires at all for this project.

    what a waste of beautiful burl, the back and sides, natural wood, look better than the front. could have just made a mold of the burl pieces then pour cast white resin into the silicon molds, saving the original wood burl for something beautiful, instead of wasting it on some disappointing star wars diorama landscape, that would look better on a toilet seat, than guitar. I guess it would be a display piece, but my guess is if it was used as real guitar, it would break at the neck joint.
