    My Purpose:
In 2020, I lost two role models in my grandmother and Kobe Bryant. It was a tough time for me mentally with the combination of dealing with COVID-19, ensuring my family's safety, and academics. Ever since I picked up basketball in the 6th grade, my life has forever changed. I truly believe I would not be the person I am today without basketball and Kobe Bryant. My goal has been to honor and continue Mr. Bryant's legacy.
Introducing Mamba Detail, inspired by Kobe Bryant's "Detail" series on ESPN. I WILL NOT monetize this content in any fashion.

Great breakdown, I don’t think people notice how big Holiday is to, the nba has had him listed at 205 pounds for a while now, team USA has this man tipping the scales at 229 pounds right now. Jrue is an absolute tank at that point guard position. His lateral quickness is unreal at that weight along with his strength, no surprise hes able to bully point guards and don’t move when players try to bump him.

2:47 i always forget how complex basketball can be. People like to downplay it with "just run and shoot the ball" but notice how the Bucks keep track of how many refs there are and how many can actually see whats going on. They even use that to their advantage.

Same for soccer, and probably many other sports like Boxing … In soccer the field is so big that you can’t analyze every players, as a fan, you just focus on who has the ball, but it’s only when you watch with the eyes of an analyst that you see all the off ball movements, all the communication between the players, with their body or their voices, you see that scoring a lot of what we call « tap in », it’s when the players is alone and just has to push the ball in the goal isn’t easy, when you score 3 every seasons maybe yes its luck, but when you score 40 like Ronaldo or Lewandoski, it’s all about out smarting the defense.
But people will always like the Kyrie Irving and Curry of Soccer more, the Neymar, Messi, young Ronaldo, Ronaldo Nazario, Ronaldinho, Henry, Pogba, Mbappe, Dembele, Robinho ect because they are entertaining, they kill you in 1 vs 1, can put of their ass a whole defense (4players), and shoot the ball from far, with power and accuracy.
They score tap in, but most of the time they score beautiful goals, but at the end of the day, who is better ? The guy who score 40goals with 15 tap in and the rest is just beautiful goals or the guys who score 40 goals in wich 35 are tap in ? That’s the question i still can’t answer, i don’t know, because at the end of the day it’s the same, just like when Shaq was dominating everyone, averaging 29ppg for a decade with ugly Dunks, at the same time you had MJ, averaging around 30, but with beautiful fadeaways, jumpers after amazing footwork and pumpfake …

Strength is the main tool to his defense. He's able to fight screens and switch to bigger guys in the paint. It's funny to me seeing how people are realizing he's the elite defender at the guard position, over guys that sold the media a notion of being great defenders.

You could make the exact same argument, for several other aspects of the game, where the rules are being inforced inconsistently, or not at all. Just look at how Harden Or Lue go to the rim, with no intention to finish, only looking to initiate contact. Game isn't fair for anyone 🤷

You aren't wrong- but they just allow tons of contact in the NBA playoffs. Watch Booker in this video push off Jrue with his elbow- definitely a foul but only was called once in the entire series. Playoff basketball is just different- teams just try to adjust to what the refs will allow.
