    I'm late to this video & I love you guys... I've watched this one like 5 times. Teone's scents are incredible. I own Garden of Pleasures, The Path, Oudh Batavia & just bought NightSong & ANOTHER (now 50ml) Garden of Pleasures.
    Just sampled 8 new scents from her today & they were all great... She's an amazing perfumer. Worth every dollar & exploring everything that sounds good to any viewer out there. Ordered a sample set from her in Brisbane on Thursday & had it in Los Angeles Monday! Can't believe you guys didn't go crazy for Garden of Pleasures above all... Literally my new "holy grail" femme-leaning-oud-floral-that-becomes-astounding-on-a-confident-guy... I have a great collection of around 115+ modern scents & a dozen ALD's, but this... Whew... Just, amazing... Please don't buy Garden of Pleasures... Terrible stuff, stay away. ;)

    Great video, guys! I've recently sampled this house as well and I must say they are fascinating. My favorite so far is Eau Naturel, it's a gorgeous chypre with some of the best patchouli I've ever smelled. I'm going to order some more, Magus and Raven sound right up my alley!

    I absolutely love Blue Lotus from Teone Reinthal! Seriously addictive stuff. I'm dying to try out Mokaya, Nefertum, Tantra, and a few others. I've had a great experience ordering from Teone's website. There is only one thing holding me back from ordering more: import taxes and duties that I had to pay (I live in France). Ouch!!!! How was your experience import taxes and duties? Great review guys!!

    • @kamurke
      @kamurke 4 года назад

      I'm dreading that, too. I currently live in Sri Lanka and might have to pay around 150 USD on my TRNP order (I ordered 9 samples and 2x 10ml atomizers). Currently still waiting tho...

    • @WaftsfromTheLoft
      @WaftsfromTheLoft  4 года назад +1

      Yes, I had to pay import duty. It is quite a big hit. But, it's the rules. It's the same when I order something from Luckyscent in the US. Quite a lot of small brands avoid this charge with 'creative labeling' on the package, but Teone is only abiding by the rules, so I don't think I can really criticise that.

    • @kateaye3506

      Same for us Aussies buying French perfume that is impossible to get here! We have a tiny market, so do not have access to all you Europeans can get so easily. 😉

    Guys could you do a video on the new guerlains? i really love you take on them, the Tonka imperiale, Lui, L`homme ideal, Lupin,Mon Guerlain, cuir intense, encens mythique etc...?

    • @WaftsfromTheLoft
      @WaftsfromTheLoft  4 года назад +1

      Yes, we may. On the whole, we've found all of the LVMH era Guerlains disappointing. I own and enjoy Encens Mythique (though it doesn't really feel like a Guerlain). I also enjoyed Lui.

    • @87linceed
      @87linceed 4 года назад

      @@WaftsfromTheLoft yeah i totally get what you are saying but i think you have to look at them with more modern eyes, but yeah it would be awesome if you did a modern guerlain video since i think one of your most popular or refence videos are the guerlain ones. :)

  • @Cicelyize
    @Cicelyize 4 года назад +2

    Thanks for your video, I’m very curious to try this house. Something in modern perfumery often screeches me and ruins it for me (does not happen to me with classic ones eg Guerlain) so exploring naturals- so far my favourite being Hiram Green. Btw have you seen his new release? Orris and violet.. I have a sample on the way.

    Hello Dan and Jo (and fellow fans of WFTL) I was wondering whether anyone might be able to recommend me something that I’ve been searching for since I discovered the joys of fragrance...
    What I’m looking for is a scent that centres around rose and lavender.
    Accompanying this, I would ideally like oily citrus (zest), possibly with some background florals and/or the smallest hint of herbs or spices or woods, sitting on a base of something sweet and/or salty such as ambergris or musk. I would prefer an offering from a niche house and it oughtn’t be too heavy, but certainly good quality (the higher the quality the better!)
    I’m not usually a big fan of very dark elements, nor of strong oakmoss, vetiver, soft fruits and anise/aniseed type notes. I would rather it wasn’t a rose-oud.
    Think Mouchoir de Monsieur with extra pink rose, or a less woody, slightly less masculine Floris no.89...
    Thank you!
    Great video by the way!

    Garden of Pleasures sounds a bit Areej's Walimah-vibe-ish? Floral but rather night blooming, dense, heady plus oud... Or am I totally off here?

    • @WaftsfromTheLoft
      @WaftsfromTheLoft  4 года назад +1

      You are right to draw the association, but actually they smell very different. GofP never becomes a theatrical floral on me, which is how i'd describe Walimah. GofP is much more about the woods, and overall feels a bit more thoughtful, rather than theatrical.

    I blind bought a bottle of Embers and it’s the most gross and nasty perfume I’ve ever smelt . Smells like paraffin wax. Very strong of paraffin wax . Nasty. Maybe I should not have ordered the 2011 embers. Maybe stored wrong. Or it went bad or the heat ruined it on my way to me. Coz something is not right. This cant be the embers everyone raves about. It had to have gone very bad.

    • @WaftsfromTheLoft
      @WaftsfromTheLoft  3 года назад +1

      I’ve not tried Embers, but it’s seems the most universally loved of her fragrances. I’ve never heard anything bad said about it.
