Always been my favorite Math Mentor. The college I attended have used your books/materials for years and I have found your books to be the best selection out of all the books I have been exposed to. I have always feared tutoring the first few sections of calculus that deal with the limit concept and the development of the formula for the derivative. You just brought a profound perspective to this issue and you've illuminated my understanding. I have a complete set of your vids..... WOW. Awesome
I was so engrossed that when the lesson ended I was like a kid who just dropped his ice cream cone! Thank you for the invite, CoolMathGuy! I am going straight over to your website for more cold, creamy, delicious Math!
One summer at University of Mississippi I had a substitute Russian Professor that explained this by using actual examples and thats how I got to understand this nonsense. All the regular professors use fancy bs language. This Russian dude, went over the slope, algebra, tangent, secant all in one example and then repeated it in another actual real world problem so we could follow. Guy knew his stuff. Sometimes I wonder if our professors and teachers even understand this subject matter. They might know it, doesn't mean they understand it.
It's kind of sad that I end up learning better via RUclips than straight from my teacher's notes. I'm just gonna try to survive the best I can. After my teacher redrew the same graph 3 times before even getting into the lesson part of his video (he just didn't like how it looked), I just can't learn anything from him. Thank you for making this video.
Cool math guy Thnkx teacher I got a lot of benefit for uh I was confuse for this lesson when our lecturer thought us but now I understood it although your example is very short there is a something that I missed so when you stay for the last stage what next for f(x) calculate or solve the example
Cyrus Toles I believe that it just happens to be the function equation of the slope he was looking at earlier in the video. This formula for finding the slope of a tangent line would work for pretty much every curve function, he is just applying it to that specific example.

Whats annoying is my very expensive online math book required for my math uses your videos, but at low rez. really lame hard to even see whats on the board. RUclips one free and looks alot better lol
best ever explanation of derivatives and differential calculus except you have to pay an extortionate subscription for the money shot. Unfair and regressive.
Sir you are THEE only explanation of the tangent line problem that makes sense on RUclips. Well done.
I have severe PTSD and traumatic brain injury that frequently keeps me from class and these videos have saved me. I cannot thank you enough
This guy is my teacher. I see him on Mondays and Thursdays. He is great.
Aren't you lucky!!!
Joshua Workowski His last video was uploaded 7 years ago. What happened to him since?
@@den4199 Essentially, yeah.
I love the way you just summarize chapter 2.1 under 10 minutes. When I took calculus, I was so confused
This guy's videos are the best. He's very personable, explains things more effectively than other instructors, & he's soooo handsome!!!

He's a master teacher, no question. I envy your hand writing, too, sir.

What a tutorial? Great explanation . Thanks for the same. However, why it ends abruptly at 9:25. I wanna see the complete tutorial.
This guy is the coolest guy I have ever seen

eastern europeans are superior at math wbk
Buck is the man! I've been following along on the Larson DVD set and the videos are spot on. Looking forward to more lessons!
wow that is the best explanation I think I have ever seen. Love it complex stuff is made simple. :-)
Best math teacher ever. You're the one (Y)
This was wonderful. Please continue to upload more math videos. :D
Are there other lessons about Derivatives and Rates of Change???

what happened to the rest of your calculus videos
I like your chalkboard, and chalk.
why was the video cut? it was getting to the good part!
I followed everything just fine until you pulled out the function equation at 9:11. Where did that come from and how did you calculate it?
Cyrus Toles I believe that it just happens to be the function equation of the slope he was looking at earlier in the video. This formula for finding the slope of a tangent line would work for pretty much every curve function, he is just applying it to that specific example.
assmane999
thanks
this guy is a lot more helpful than my actual prof
Ah! the great era (chalkboard). You've just got another subscriber.
ur truly a cool math guy!
does anyone know what book he is following?
do u have a vid explaining how the derivative is applied (ex. in finance, etc.)? if so, plz upload.
btw - vids can go over 10 min now!
Where is the next one??? TT
I like this guy, he reminds me of me of my high school math teacher
Great to have this concept before my lecture tomorrow
Why is it that you explained this far better than my professor
The limit as x approaches zero. Is the value zero and arbitrary value,? Does x approach the value closer to the slope or does it really approach zero?
It approaches the number, but the slope is 0 because there is no rate of change at the one point.
Very thorough... fantastic job! Thank you so much! :)
you are cool for real.... great explanation
Great explanation!!
What a cool guy
This man is awsome !
You are good ! however you site won't let me try it for free !
Hi TheCoolMathGuy,
Why Derivative is called Derivative? Tell me the meaning of the name.
Thank you.

RUclips does not limit length to 10 minutes ...
+Ali Cheddadi It did in 2010.
no but he wants you to pay for the rest !🤢
wished my teacher explained his lesson starting with this explanation
Whats annoying is my very expensive online math book required for my math uses your videos, but at low rez. really lame hard to even see whats on the board. RUclips one free and looks alot better lol
+FrostyExchange And it only shows some of the videos. The ones covering 30seconds-1min of the most basic concepts.
5:30 lol i first thought he picked up an human arm
WaS ThA RiSe???
4:58 The root of the tangent line problem
Is it just me, or is this guy super hot?
He definitely is!!! Plus his accent & interest in the subject make it even better.
go texas!

hi 2019
So we're gonna just ignore the fact that he used a chalkboard? mmmk
+Phaniesho Budhan chalk board > white board
do you think your actual dad wishes this too?
HE IS A NERD!!!!
my daddy issues coming thru here👀
