Just finished upgrade of my XRT with Max6, Perfect Pass, HD saver spring (+ small spacer) and Spectrum RX/DX5Pro. Its a SIGNIFICANT boost in the speed and performance of the steering!!
Hey man, that is a great servo, I run mine at 8.5v on a Castle B.E.C. I did want to mention to you that in your video you didn't show the setup of your radio. Meaning, the servo that comes with the XRT is a mechanical servo, the perfect pass is a Brushless Digital Servo. You may need to tell your TX that the servo is digital as the default is always mechanical. Once I sussed that out on my Futaba system, that servo came to life. It was so much smoother and faster. At 8.5v, set up as digital that is an EPIC servo!
I'm pretty sure I have it setup right. I've got the flysky noble nb4 and have 2 of the perfect pass servos and a couple savox servos and a pro tech and haven't noticed any issues but maybe I haven't seen the pp servos full potential yet. I'll have to look into it
My slash I have a castle mamba x running a perfect pass ar 8.5 and it's insane compared to my xrt with the hobbywing only running at 7 .4 I figured the biggest difference is due to the tire size and weight
@@jessemichalies You throw that bad boy in the XRT up to 8.5 my friend and those wheels and tires will be a problem no more. Cool vid and it's good to see a YTbr respond well to comments rather than being offended or insulted.
Even if it's not as fast, witch it is but it's not gonna fail every couple.of battery packs, the Traxxas servos really suck in the Xmaxx and XRT...even there so called 2085X heavy duty is no good....I've gone through many of them...great vid!!💯
Cool set up u have there been, may I ask what the reader is on the front shock tower looks like a voltage regulator or something what do u use it for and has it been helpful I have a friend who could do something like this but wanted to here what u use it for etc .
It steps the voltage down to run lights. I have an aftermarket ESC so I couldn't use the Traxxas lights the way they were supposed to be used. I posted a video on the lighting that explains it pretty good
Great info! On a side note, I've been trying to work out if those 11000mAH gens ace 4S batteries would fit into the XRT with the strap modification for days, did you have to remove any of the padding to get them in? In the UK they're listed as 178*52*53mm which would be slightly too wide :/
Do you run your truck or you just like the upgrading aspect? If you do, it doesn’t look like you run it hard so I don’t see the point of all the upgrades. If I come off a certain way, I don’t mean it like that - just an observation.
I bought it during Christmas and with winters here in Montana I haven't had a lot of time 2 run it. I do get as much joy out of working on RCS as driving them
@@jessemichalies Traxxas sells an upgraded hardened spur and pinion. 20/50. I have it on mine and runs good. It should have came on the truck already but that’s Traxxas.
Curios what are you using the power converter for? I use it to run my custom fans that I make turbo fans running on 12v directly from the esc power wires
I ordered two of the shorter 300 mm ones on accident at first. I ended up sewing the two together and ordering another set of 300 mm straps and sewing those together as well. If you message him on eBay, he should be able to set you up with the right length staps. I'm not sure what the other length straps are off the top of my head.
So question how has your vuatvon servo horn held up ive had 2gpm servo horns on my perfect pass and the servo has destroyed the teeth in both servo horn
3:20 Im confused about "I had to take that out." Are you saying that you had to remove it temporarily to get the servo in and you put the bearing and that housing back on, or...are you saying that you had to remove the bearing from the housing and reinstall just the bearing housing (without the bearing)?
If I remember correctly, I think I slide the bearing on the vitavon shaft first, then slide it into the plastic holder for the bearing. I hope that makes sense.
@@jessemichalies im wondering his answer to this myself. The only thing better than vitavon is m2c. Can you drop the link for for that drag link and horn from vitavon bc i cant find it in green

Hope its a MAx 6 G2 with the same power as a Max 5 instead of the old Max 6s
Max 6 g2 does 8.4v...

Can you post a link for servo bracket
Thank you.

If I remember right I removed a little foam

@@jessemichalies I got you now. It looks like that thing is bulletproof. I also got the orange one and upgraded it quite a bit.
@Kobe Bryant it's only had about 2 full sets of packs of run time through it. I kept stripping srock pinions and spurs in the beginning

@Kobe Bryant I went to a Robinson Racing pinion with a stock spur and it seems to be holding up so far. I plan on getting a hot racing spur

It's a setup down converter for my lights to run at 14 volts
Garagelifer RC has a few different length battery straps. What size are you running?

Can you send part numbers for all of these things you used the servo and the bracket please
You can find the perfect pass monster servo on Amazon. Vitavon has the bracket on there website
Cant you adjust the settings on your phone?
Why don't you have full steering after the upgrade?
I had to tighten up the servo saver some more
@@jessemichalies how do you tighten the stock servo saver?
You tighten the knurled ring down onto the spring more
Your servo saver is probably slipping.
It was i had to tighten it up
What model # servo horn is this I would like to order one. Or post link if possible ?
look up vitavon and search xrt servo horn
So the tooth spline count is right for the vitamin part ? What's the tooth count ?
Yes, it's 25 tooth
@@jessemichalies oops ! Forgot to ask servo is 25 , don't get why they don't list that
Yes, if you look at the pictures on Amazon for the perfect pass, you can see the 25t on the horn
@@jessemichalies ok , thanx much for your response
You bought the rubbish servo mount from vitavon
Seemed to work perfectly. What issues should I have run into?
