The fact that this woman outsold every R&B female in 2014, even strong competitors within the R&B genre like Tinashe & Jhene Aiko, is incredible. K. Michelle did her thing, if this were the early 2000s or the 90s when R&B was at its peak, this would have been a HUGE commercial success. Nonetheless, she accomplished commercial success with this album and I'm so proud of her. Can't wait for the next album! Hope sales go up even more for her! She deserves the success!

You would really have to look up the definition of R&B. In my opinion, a lot of today's music is too centered around sex and even though R&B, including older R&B, involves sex, it shouldn't be centered around it. Most of it lacks love, adoration, life lessons, or even shedding light on world problems. You also have to look at talent and image when evaluating this. Yeah, I'm one of those people that feel that older music was more meaningful and had better artists. However, it doesn't mean that I don't admire some of today's artists who have kept R&B going by not conforming to today's perception of R&B.
