Yeah, you need the person with the gun DON'T be also a martial artist...because in that case probably you will be shot (maybe not killed, I think). But if he is an average person and you are a trained martial artist, I think it works all the time. Is a risk to do this, in any case (you don't know the other person).
Lolz, okay so if the instructor with the cool black suit knows that the gun holder is most likely to pull the trigger on himself after this action is performed on him, why does the instructor reload the gun at the beginning of the video?...hahaha seeing as though the objective is, in fact, to get the gun holder to shoot himself.......poor old man........very fit!- but poor old man......
Best to be judged by twelve than carried by six. G everybody's a master heh? "Those that speak don't know, those that know, dare not speak!" For those who think stopping the bullet with your body is better...feal free...lol, truth is you can survive most gun wounds especially from small arms, avoid vital areas and at best you have a wound. Stand there and maybe he'll let you live to identify him later???????? lol
this is a very unique and well executed technique, i really like it, and yes no excuses for age or gender.. though when it comes to an elderly man, well just out of pure respect i would never even ask him to practice let alone manipulate his joints like that lol : ).. though if he is a very well trained artist, will i train only and only if he ends up proficiently putting me on the tip of my toes or flat on the floor : )
Wouldn't Having your hand on the slide in that manner cause some pretty nasty cuts to your palms after the weapon fires though? I mean, it definitely beats the alternative of being shot, but this seems like a set of moves when you've got nothing else. Or do you have a way to keep the pressure on the weapon without putting self-damaging amounts of tension on the slide?
I may or it may not fire in this case. It seems to be dealing with a 45, which we all know, it has a grip safty. Uopn being manupulated in such a way, it may not be depressed enough to engage the firing mechanism.
Almost looks like he reloaded the weapon but he pulled out the magazine before pulling the slide back, he was just checking the weapon to see it was unloaded and that no bullets were chambered.
i used to think that too, actually if you grab it tight enough you can block the slide, the bullet will fire, but the slide will remain in the same position making the gun malfunction
if you actually do the second technique you'll lose a finger because your finger will go inside the port and when the slide slides back your finger will be chopped of instantly
@JukemDrawles89 Well, if a BG is pointing a gun at you he's only one step away from killing you. But this guy and others have disarming techniques where you take the gun away.
@cevune You might get some cuts but I don't think they'd be THAT nasty. Besides they'll heal in short order, and you're right it's much better than the alternative.
Okay, you bring up a good point there. However (And I'm no expert in this field, but I'm using what I think that I would do in this situation), I would move to the side (as he does in this video) and kick his knee or thigh to cripple his ability to move. I doubt that he would be able to focus on shooting me with the amount of pain he would experience in his leg.Again, I'm not expert...but I'm using the knowledge that I have learned from other people.
Tank Dempsey Nothing wrong with using what you have. You might practice both ways first to see which one works for you. We are gathering knowledge here and there and incorporating things in as we go.
This guys techniques seem more effective than Krav Maga instructors I've seen.
This man is 70 years old! And now I'm going to spend the next two minutes twisting his fragile fingers and wrists.
LOL
Nope. There's a ton of videos showing that you can easily stop the slide action by just holding it down.
I enjoy your no nonsense videos, simple and effective. Everyone has the right to defend himself.

Stay Alert, Stay Safe, Stay Alive.

Actually no, the recoil isn't that hard. You can find videos from youtube where people do that in demonstration purposes.

Lot of people dont know, but the movement of the slide is very weak, a hard grip will cause the friction to stop the slide form movin back
No. There is not much force pushing the slide back, it likely wouldn't even move. The slide is only dangerous once it starts moving.
what do you do about the guns action when it goes off? just be thankful its your hands being damaged and not your life being taken?
What if you don't wanna kill the gunman doe...
I still like the video though!! I just found that funny to point out (referring to my previous comment ahahaha!
My gran in South Africa has been held at gunpoint twice, both times the gun was pointed against her head.
if the gun holder is more then a couple of feet away, you are fucked, unless ofcourse you can use the Force
@EV5852 then use the final method, it'll break their finger but they cant use the gun and u have it :D
but when u grab the slide
and u bring the gun towards him and fire u will destroy your own fingers
this is cool, and you're a beast bro. Be cool if you showed us how to disarm a rifle now =)
@cevune Actually it doesn't take much effort to hold onto the slide when the weapon is fired.
you could try and look beside him and act like some one is there and then make your move
what you gotta do is get wrist control... and then thats when you pull out YOUR gun
"This finger will pull the trigger and he will die." .....Even if he is using a 9mm?
Yes but you'd be alive with a few damaged fingers while the other guy is dead
it only works on old people. they have the slowest reflexes.
In the second tactic, wouldn't his hand get caught in the slide (slide bite) as the gun fires?
If you actually use this tactic in a real situation, you would care. unless you don't care about your hands.
Tank Dempsey That's like "oh, my hand might get cut!" vs. "oh, i might lose my life!" Why do you think there are defense wounds on murder victims?
Okay, you bring up a good point there. what if your fingers get closed in the chamber did anyone think about that
Do you have a video for gun defense with one hand grip
would of been pretty shity if the gun had 1 bullet in it ;-;
so isnt the grampa supposed to be disarming the young man?
i guess u have to use the methods from part1 and part2? :/
you need practice and practise, to get faster and faster
No, usually when you hold the slide, the gun would jam.
What happens when someone point an assult riffle at you
@MrBMV2000 he just checked to see if it had ammo in it
but wouldnt the blow back rip your fingers to shreds?
I guess you can only do it 10 times then.
Who is this man?
Fascinating individual.
M.C.M.A.P. teaches best. Search that.
