I luv biscuits and gravy I make my gravy with cream cheese and heavy whipping cream. And no xanthan gum. I learned that recipe years ago in a low carb cookbook
So do you replace one cup of the cream with 8 ozs of cream cheese? I was wondering if the results would be the same if I used one cup of heavy cream and one cup of water.
This is my dinner tonight. But I am also sauteing some spinach with sliced bacon and mushrooms. I like to put a pinch of vinegar on it but my son likes it just as it is so for him no vinegar please. I am going to fry me an egg place it on top of the biscuits and gravy and I have a feeling that comfort food will come with a few nice comforters.
@@susieq6663 regarding your question about th cream cheese, you only need 2-3 tbs or more if you like the tang of cream cheese. It depends on how many servings you are cooking. Cream cheese acts like an ingredient for thickening sauces. You can use cream, broth or water to control how thick you want the sauce.
OH MY 😍 I have gestational diabetes and have to eat a low carb diet. A bit more carbs then Keto but it is easier to follow a Keto recipe and add fruit or a slice of whole wheat something to get in my necessary carbs. You may have saved me from being completely miserable the rest of my pregnancy! I'm from Louisiana and we love our carbs on carb comfort foods. I found you by your fried fish and now I'm seeing biscuits and gravy! You came from heaven didnt you!? Lol
I tried this recipe tonight and it was so delicious! I didn't have xanthan gum so I used some beef gelatin and it worked just fine. Thanks so much for this! I've been craving sausage gravy for months!!! I just found your channel tonight by this recipe and I subbed already because your food looks so good and easy, too. Thanks again!
OMG!!! This is absolutely delicious!!! I love biscuits and gravy and was so afraid to make this for months, I'm upset with myself I didn't make this sooner! I doubled the recipe for the whole family and it turned out wonderful! A++++++
I so miss this. I would make this high carb version with scrambled eggs on the morning of opening day of deer season for my husband & his buddies, with venison sausage that we made. 5 Am.

Even my picky teenager likes the taste but ask if I can get the gravy thicker. If I add more xanthan gum will that alter the flavor or give me the consistency that she may be looking for?

Hi C. I'm sure you've heard of sopping. If not, it's when you use bread to clean up what's left of any juice, gravy, sauce, etc. after a delicious meal. Some Italian, Greek and other restaurants will serve a flavored/spiced oil with bread as and appetizer. Well, this meal are those concepts in reverse...lol. It really is easy and so good!

You can add more xanthan gum, but try cooking it a bit more or adding less water.
