That spectacular set was all CGI. They were in a studio in front of a green screen! This was from their virtual live performance. Both shows were incredible.
Originally Floor was sent by Allfather Odhinn to Midgard to gather the souls of fallen warriors to Valhalla, but she got distracted and joined a series of bands. However, Floor still gathers souls by her grace, beauty and the sheer power of her vocals. We give thanks for her at our Blots regularly and hope that Odhinn won't notice that she has never returned to Asgard. ALL HAIL THE VALKYRIE GODDESS!!!
I didn't figure that Floor or Tuomas would put something on an album if they didn't feel they could do it live, but HOLY CRAP!!! She is absolutely amazing. I just don't even know what to think anymore. Breathtaking.

@@clivematthews5296 Relatively easy? Well, maybe just for you :) I remember very well one of the first interviews with Floor after joining the band, where she said that "Amaranth" is the most difficult Nightwish song for her.
It was such a great pair of virtual online concerts. They all did a great job playing live music again even if it was not front of a live audience. Troy did a wonderful job but Floor just sang amazingly. I know she made it look effortless but I know she must of practiced all the songs in the combined set lists especially for such a hard song like this.

It does. Just take it down yourselves please. NW doesn’t generally take down reactions to stuff they themselves released, but they specifically stated they were opposed to posting captures or reactions on those from the virtual live shows. That should be respected IMO.
There is another live video of Shoemaker from I believe a Helsinki show and IMO the operatic vocals at the end are even better! I’d love to see you react to the acoustic version of How’s the Heart too!
This was from Nightwish' recent virtual concert. Even Floor was not sure if they/she could pull this one off Live! I think it was amazing for the first ever performance. It was also missing Marko's great backing vocals.
not for her to physically sing I think that is still Everdream as that high belt kills her. I think it was more the trying to work out the ending so that she was happy with it that caused the problem with this song and getting the breathing timed right in the starting phrases or maybe that was the problem with Pan? I dunno it all sounds so easy when she does it :D
Thanks u for returning to Nightwish. The first live version of Shoemaker from their livestream concerts - a wonderful experience where the band performed in a totally green box. Don't think this has even been released yet. Anyway, wonderful to see how you were touched, especially at the end, by Floor's operatic voice, not to talk about how she and Troy did the duos (sadly not a trio with Marko) - the whole band (incl. new session bass player Jukka) did a fantastic job

A great reaction to a great band. Can I just say that the music quality that you put out is most probably the best I have heard from any youtube reactors. There are some really good ones out there. But so many sound like they are just using the speaker in a mobile phone, or mums old broken record player from the 60's. So thanks for caring.

A lot of people fell in love with Floor, what a voice! She aims at your heart. Perhaps a good suggestion. This was the first time I saw Nightwish live and without Marko. I read that many comments say this was so great. Usually I prefer Nightwish live above their studio albums. But this quality was in my honest opinion, quite less than the studio version. Perhaps the recording of this concert was less well done. It was also a smalller setting (than e.g. Wacken or Wembley). But I am so glad you found this! Thanks. PS Did you react to the album version as well? I know it is not fair to do sa, but in this case ... .
I saw both these shows and I actually thought night 2 was better, but they didn't play shoemaker on night 2. But check out some of the fan videos of this from their secret show. I think it's better.

Listened again to this version. A few things popped up now: 1) We don't get to see the base player. 2) The chorus is now lead by Floor, not by Troy (who is now only doing a backing up, rather than Floor backing Troy), 3) I like the heavier guitar part as compared to the studio version, it adds a bit more dynamics to the song. Is this really a live version? It looks more like a dress rehearsel (no audience). I don't see, nor hear an audience.

Now we we only need to address the philosophical issue: is a virtual show a 'live' performance? :) As there is no live audience that reacts to the show, the band cannot 'react back' to the crowd, the show lacks the typical live vibe. Yet, if they mess up, the whole world will notice, so that part is very much live. As the song is pretty difficult to sing, I think Floor probably will have felt the pressure of a live show.

Excellent reaction from you - but I think you are violating the copyright by doing this version from the Virtual Shows. They are not official released yet, and Nightwish warned people to use copies on the NET. The official version is breathtaking as well - and the ending Floor made in her homestudio, because she wasn't satisfied with the first version from the Nightwish studio. beside of Nightwish I discovered the Gathering..... (their former singer was THE inspiration for Floor to go metal) My favorite song is Travel and the best version is from TG25 concert in Doornroosje , Nijmegen (Netherlands, also Dutch........ we have the best in this small country....best of female metal singers..... LOL ) For me Shoemaker is very emotional..........My mother was very busy trying to find the meaning of life and how we came to it.....
I don't want to cause problems here, but are you really sure that you are not reacting to and showing an illegal copy of that concert? There is no link to the "original video" in your description and if you search for "Nightwish Shoemaker live" this video no longer pops up. Copyright infringes are a real thing and so far all copies of that concert got taken down.

Floor has turned me into the biggest cry baby. Tears flow daily listening to her with Nightwish. Feels good , so must be good. Life is good :)
