  • Check out the Skittle Here! - bit.ly/4dByx1s
As Overlanding continues to grow, the ways to cook food, and camp kitchens get more modular and complex. From intricate pull out drawer systems, to nesting kitchenware, there is a whole slew of different options when it comes to cooking in the backcountry. One of our favorites, as well as many others, is using a Skottle. A Skotttle gives you good control while using very little dishes, making less time for cleaning, and more time for enjoying your time in the wilderness.
Do you have a skottle? Let us know what you think about them!

It’s my go to for outdoor cooking. I even set it up in my backyard.. so much fun to cook with and keeps everything warm and very easy to clean .
It is expensive but the joy it’s given us makes it worth it .

Most overlanders who get one regret it. If you’re the sole cook for several vehicles or a large group - yes. Otherwise, it’s too bulky and too costly.

We've been traveling on the road for the last couple months and have yet to run into someone who regrets getting one, especially if you thoroughly understand how to use it.

@@overlandchef I can name a dozen RUclipsrs who featured a skottle in their content in the past and no longer use it. The only creator that I watch that still has one featured occasionally is Lifestyle Overland. And they don’t even have one. Their buddy, Marco, who cooks for several groups has one.

Technically the skottle is really a wok with legs and a permanent burner underneath it. Same concept as a wok from cooking to cleaning.
Call a Rose by any other name, it will always remain a Rose. You can properly jerry rig one for under 100 bucks and some creativity. Enjoyed the vid. 👍

Sure; but good luck making one as collapsable and compact for $100!

@overlandchef Or you can just use a coleman grill and a wok and and you just saved yourself $595 bucks which is the cost of the Skottle? When considering practical applications, I prefer a steak on a on an old-fashioned grill. The skottle is great for sautéing veggies among other small foods. But to each his own...I learned a long time ago there isn't a perfect edc pouch only the one that's suitable for the present application/need. I also apply this method to cooking outdoors.
      That's my 2 cents.......

And it'll be better, since you'd be able to put ANY COOKING POT OR PAN OR WOK ON TOP OF IT XD
