Way too $$$$. Made one myself. Buy the disc made in Korea, $30. Similar burner $35. Buy a cover $20. All these things are made in Korea. I'd argue that the build quality is the same or better. USA made has lost it's shine many moons ago.
Skilled trade American built costs money, the American made bag costs money. You could build one for 100 bucks but it wouldn’t be as nice unless your just really skilled at welding and sewing.
@@IndependenceOverland we are about to be a third world country with prices like this so yes I know how to make one. I should start making them and sell them at half the cost! Thanks for the idea!
I got my TemboTusk Skottle for $250 🇨🇦, about 12 years ago. I was SHOCKED to recently see them selling for over $550 🇨🇦for a base model (grill / legs only) . The model with the burner, hose, and bag was over $675 🇨🇦😳 That being said, I love my Skottle
If u would have put the cabbage in and then the baking Grill and then the chicken on the Grill do it all at the same time cuz the Cabbage while it's cooking it's steaming and it will bake and steam your chicken
UPDATE!: Apparently, if I would flip the table over the bevel is indeed different and will be both flat and won't pivot! Both sides looked the same but I didn't look close enough. I've got one. I don't use it. Over priced and over hyped if you ask me. Too much setup and take down time. With my 2 burner stove all I have to do is take it out of the 4Runner and start cooking. It's one of those things all overlanders have heard of and many believe if you don't have a Skottle and a rooftop tent you can't call yourself an overlander. That's BS if you ask me.
I’ll stand by that it’s hand built which adds to the cost. It’s gone way up due to the new burner being expensive, but it is an expensive product. No arguing that.
It’s OVERPRICED bro!!! Great Channel and videos! Keep up your hard work. Thank you 🙏🏼

Where did you get the the burner you replaced for controlling the fire?
Tembo Tusk sells it. Its a Kovea stove.
I have one and it is a great portable cooking surface and very easy to clean.
Great video, well done -but at over $500 with bad flame control…not jumping on that bandwagon. Maybe at half the price.
bad flame control? That was the old burner I was talking about, its been updated with a really nice burner. Which is part of the cost I should add.
That thing is worth $100 tops. You can get the disco for $40 and you can get a propane burner for $30 New.

It’s been years since I used my skottle and now ya got me all fired up and can’t wait to use it again. 😊
Do you have the Kovea burner for it? It really makes it feel like a much more functional stove.
@@IndependenceOverland I don’t but it’s in my cart now :)
As always, nicely done!
Thanks Scot! 🙏
Great job. ❤
Thank you!
For the thermometer: Weber has a kit to add a thermometer to one of their kettle grill lids that is just what you are looking for.
Thanks man!
Well done video as always!
Give kelp chili crisp, from outdoor chef life and barnacle foods a try
You got it!

steaming breaded chicken makes it kind of gooey though, I prefer the crispyness of just putting it to the pan. Good idea for chicken breast though!
CVT has a third party table that works well with the tembo. The Vegas store is where I got mine.
Awesome I will look into that.

Mine doesn’t take very long to set up at all, but I leave the burned installed on mine.
I agree. I have a two burner stove with my cast iron griddle...couldn't be happier.
It's overpriced

@@IndependenceOverland The bag is also made by BROG.
@@jagaro yeah I mentioned that in the video. It’s very high quality.
