    Stuff we use:
LENS - Most people ask us what camera we use, no one ever asks about the lens which filmmakers always tell us is more important. This lens was a big investment for us and one we wish we could have made sooner. Started using this lens at the end of 2013 - amzn.to/2tbtmOq
    AUDIO
Rode VideoMic Pro - The Rode mic helps us capture our backup audio. It also helps us sync up our audio in post amzn.to/2t1n2hx
Audio Recorder - If we had to do it all over again, this is probably the first item we would have bought - amzn.to/2tbFlM9
LIGHTS - Although we like to use as much natural light as we can, we often enhance the lighting with this small portable light. We have two of them and they have saved us a number of times - amzn.to/2u5UnHv
COMPUTER - Our favorite computer, we each have one and have used various models since 2010 - amzn.to/2t1M67Z
EDITING - We upgraded our editing suite this year and we’re glad we did! This has improved our workflow and the quality of our work. Having new software also helps when we have a problem, it’s easy to search and find a solution - goo.gl/56LnpM

I'd like to know how the hell a 23 year old sells a screenplay. I've been in this game for over a decade, it was never easy enough I could keep my youth.

Film Courage, I have a script I've written that's full copyrighted, registered with the WGA, and has been rated by the Blacklist as a smash hit.
It is a crime drama and period film that has major social relevance. I can envision this being a three-movie deal. What should I do next to
get it produced? I was thinking about trying to secure a commission based agent.

You wait, Tony. The Black List is a super way to get noticed. If it truly got a stellar rating like that, studios already have it in a pile somewhere waiting to be read. Someone on their staff hired to pick and choose potentials already gave them a copy or a link to your script. Now you wait. If it's as good as people say (the Black List) your phone will ring soon enough. Be patient. Ride the wave. If for no other reason, know that those who have read it (the Black List) think there's something there worthwhile. Coast on that feeling.
Do look into an agent though. They know how to get your materials read properly and promptly. They're paid to be hustlers after all. Money for you means money for them. They're motivated.

Start reaching out to production companies that are known for producing similar genres. Introduce yourself as having a script rated “10” or whatever number Blcklst rated your script. Any reputable production company will know what a rating above an “8” from Blcklst means. Ask for a “general meeting” with a development executive. A general meeting is not a pitch, it’s what professionals in the industry do on a regular basis to keep an eye out for new talent. Keep doing this to build relationships and to get your name and script circulating among development executives.

I’m rather bummed that if you submitted your screenplay to a studio, they will go behind your back to send other writers after YOUR screenplay. In the vein of Aaron Sorkin’s Sean Parker in Social Network, “they want you to say thank you as you - excuse me - wipe your chin and walk away.”
