10 Percent True #19 P2: "Stinger" F-15E Fighter Pilot - Syria & Iraq
Part 2 of my interview with "Stinger", a current operational F-15E pilot (and previously, WSO) about his 2017 deployment to Iraq and Syria.
He was in the jet that downed one of the two Iranian drones shot down during that tour and recounts his experiences duelling Russian Flankers and 'kneecapping' the ISIS HQ in Raqqa.
It's a fascinating interview that lifts the lid on what really happened between Russia and the US over Syria...
Really good ROE discussion.
“Bitch be cool” - we laugh because it’s funny, we laugh because it’s true. Serious professionalism mandatory. Great interview as always Steve, thanks Stinger for amazing insights to the complexities of modern conflicts.
Thank you, EI-CJC. What’s your background? 737?
@@10percenttrue affirm Steve, you know me on the Facebook page as Jim ;)
Fascinating insight. Complex RoE. Dynamic multi-Actor scenarios. Deescalation to avoid unintended consequences. Ad hoc Tactical innovation. What a professional. Thank you for such a candid video. Bravo Zulu
Such a complex military and geo-political situation, quite fascinating.
Another great interview!
Ha Herding cats is putting it mildly. Best interview I have heard in a very Long time. Well done, interesting to hear the Handover to follow on units dramas. Same stuff with us ODA's, hand overs always hit or miss for us too. Should be a building block going forward but heck sometimes it was constant reinventing the wheel and or starting from day 0 instead of day 260
Love all of these interviews, SO we’ll done. This is one of my favorites. The details Stinger went into about weaponeering and the triple stack to flatten a building were fantastic! I really appreciated his well considered thoughts on the F15ex too. Great Stuff!!
been waiting for this! thank you
Thank you for doing these interviews and help keeping me sane during my time in self isolation in this pandemic. Love hearing all of these stories. Would love to hear from a F-15EX Pilot and hear their thoughts on the new variant of the glorious Eagle.
Shielding alone must be very challenging indeed. Hang in there!
Amazing interview. Does anyone know if the JTAC‘s talked about are US personell or if it’s SDF soldiers they are communicating with?
Green Berets, iirc.
@@10percenttrue Thanks for the answer. Keep up the great work!
Quick question - when it comes to bomb fusing and delays tactic wise do the USAF airmen conference with the weapon builders on potential ways that the weapon system can be used for these scenarios?
"We were upset, because the Hornets were late..."
We’re you there, MQ?
@@10percenttrue Sorry, neglected to put the quotations marks around the paraphrase at 40:50. I thought that it was funny, considering the previous statements about professionalism and Mexican stand-offs. Fixed.
